Probably not, but you're ignoring that at the very least the protests have so far stopped the debit card fees, moved billions of dollars out of national banks and into their communities, and opened the conversation to an entire nation that never talked about these problems before.Pretending to be homeless is the best way to change the system.
This. I'm starting to think its not the majority of protestors that don't know why they are protesting (some clearly don't), no, that's just what Right Wing propaganda wants you to believe and people are regurgitating like puppets. In actuality, it seems more like its the majority of people against the movement that don't know why people are protesting.
Case in point being Adam's rant in the OP. he clearly does not have a clue. Even reading this thread. People think its about not being able to get jobs? Lol. It's so much more than that, that facet is literally a tiny cherry off a massive cake.
This doesn't make much sense considering the main argument of OWS isn't "legitimately successful people are too successful, its not fair"

While I don't think many people in the occupy movement have a clue what the should be protesting about, it doesn't take away from the fundamental problem that bankers should not be able to:
1. Loan shark hundreds of thousands of people into things they cannot afford. Whether it be sub-prime mortgages or entire countries like Greece or Italy.
2. Bundle trillions of toxic assets into "AAA" funds.
3. Bet against said fund.
4. Then get away free under trillions of dollars in socialism transferring everyone's wealth into the bankers that fucked up the system.
Engineers cannot lie about shitty bridge construction and then collect insurance when it fails and people die. Doctors cannot sell snake oil. Banks cannot loan money that cannot be paid back without consequences.
And you base this on what exactly? I'm over 25 and Adam is ranting about something completely irrelevant.

I don't judge GAF as a brony forum just because there's a My Little Pony thread.I'm sure there are at least some OWSers who question the legitimacy of any success.
I agree. Dude almost relishes in the fact that he's uneducated. Funny guy, though.
He's liberal on a lot of social issues, but also really big on bootstraps.Oblivion said:Adam Corolla said this? I thought he was a pretty big lib? Or was that the other guy from The Man Show?
You say it, therefore it's true! right? In this thread..
Over 25: Yup, that's pretty accurate.
Under 25: Nuh uh, he's a stupid head! MOOOOOOOOOOOM!

He isnt wrong about all the self absorbed little shits that think they are entitled to something. For years we have gone about trying to spare any kids feelings. Hell the whole politically correct movement is just there to spare peoples feelings. Well if all we do is spare someones feelings, will they ever learn? Will they ever realize there are negative consequences for their actions? Will they ever think, hey that guy is so much better than me, maybe i should strive to be better myself?
There are hypocrites in every group or ideology. Doesn't mean there aren't people who did legitimately work their asses off and still can't find jobs because of a recession created by the super rich.
Most of them have jobs. The protest isn't against not being able to be employed (though it is its own problem in the US), but that the richest 1% have cheated or schemed their way into their money and are using their political power to widen the gap between themselves and the 99% below them. Anyone trying to deny this wealth inequity can only be explained as being blinded by generic, knee-jerk rage at protests.

This is a perfect example of a nonsensical strawman.Ok, maybe I should of been specific I was referring to the "young" OWS'ers Carolla seemed to be focusing on. The point trying to make was the general opinion of the protesters (the ones who get most the media attention at least) being: "Hey you! see that 1%er! hes a bad person! he tuk oor jerbs! why should he be able to drive that car!" and not "See that rich dude son? Be like him when you grow up"
But then again, I grew up in DC and have learned to hate any protests of any kind simply for the traffic they cause. So I admit I am bias.

You're getting caught up in the emotional appeal. He's saying something you want to hear in a very charged way. Take a step back and think about weather what you've said above actually applies to a significant portion of what OWS stands for.

If people are mad that they don't have a job, maybe instead of looking to find one, they can camp out in a park for 2 months. Yeah! great idea!
It's like the whole concept of a 'recession' is lost on you people.

Waaah waaah waaah banks got bailed out by taxpayers, including those in the lower and middle classes, all while doling out record-setting bonuses to a handful of executives. Waah hedge funds manipulated markets to the detriment of the country to make a quick buck.
Is anyone actually looking past this bullshit and paying attention to the real problem in this country, which is people caring too much about others' feelings?
Time to wake up, America.
You've got to admit that at least some OWSers do sound like that. No, they aren't the majority and they don't speak for the whole movement, but that sentiment is present.

I remember the days when people would work hard and earn their way to a good salary.
Today's kids expect to party and not work during college, graduate, and then be in high demand for a $60k+ salary. All while purchasing things online to get the cheapest prices. WHERE ARE THE JOBS? Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, all your money is the reason I don't have a job!

Andrew Ryan?Recessions are just periods when more people then usual get lazy. We get out of them when people wake up one morning and go "I should try to actually work today instead of leeching off of my betters"
I'll go so far as to admit that that is how mass media tries to portray them, yes.
You really think there aren't any obnoxious, under-informed kids in OWS?
You think there aren't any obnoxious, under-informed kids everywhere in the entire world? Why are you so anxious to apply this label to a protest group, even if you're only applying it to a few of the people in it?You really think there aren't any obnoxious, under-informed kids in OWS?
