Game of Thrones - George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire - Season 1 - Sundays on HBO

Season1's use of Ed had depth. He had Ice in hand, almost representing how he was tied to his sense of duty and justice. So using that formula, it may be a character with an object that represents them or their coda in some way. Stannis and his
burning sword
could be a viable option as it essentially represents a
new God in Westeros as well as being an icon for the insidious lengths he will go to claim what he believes is his.

Maybe Stannis? Either him or Tyrion.

I'm thinking Season 2 should be Tyrion

Season 3 and so forth... I'll spoiler text this

Season 3: Jon or Dany with the other taking season 5
Season 4: Cersei
Season 5: Jon or Dany, whichever wasn't used for season 3.
Season 6: Tobho Mott
Season 7: Dolorous Edd

Edit: Iceland looks perfect.

Book 2 Spoilers:
Cuts on Jon's face, maybe from the hawk?

So if I get the Blu Ray set from HBO, I get a bonus disc, but it's way cheaper on Amazon at the moment.

Will the HBO version always be full price or do you guys expect them to be similarly priced on release?

Looking at the box art of the bluray got me thinking, what will be the promo image for season2?

Ed Stark was a logical choice for the first season, but I am having trouble finding one particular character & pose that has that same presence. The two Baratheons standing back to back? Or is it an object?
The five crowns stacked onto each other, creating a column or something? Dany with slightly larger dragons on her shoulder?

I would do the Iron Throne with the 5 Kings around it. Robb, Balon, Stannis, and Renley standing around it, with Joffrey sitting on it looking like a douche.

Yeah something with the 5 kings would be my choice.

I'd rather
avoid cramming all of them, into the picture, since each character isn't all that relevant to the story, unlike Ned in the 1st season where he was the defacto main character. Hell, Balon Greyjoy is not so much an important character as a plot device. They have to decide who they'll set the focus on in the second season from a marketing standpoint.

That being said, some other ideas:

-Same shot of the Iron Throne, but Stannis holding Lightbringer or Robb with Grey Wind replacing Ned.

-Empty Iron Throne, dripping with blood

-A tattered House Stark Banner.

Definitely understandable, it just seems like a cool nod to the book title by having all the Kings on there.

As long as Robb is on the cover, I'm all good lol.

I don't know who Tohbo Mott is, so I say replace that mook with Hot Pie.

I did a few photoshops of season1 a few months ago that I thought you gents would dig.

You can hear some of the Northern Irish accent in the way she said "dead person". They are filming up there yeah? She must be picking up some of it.

She's a great kid.

he is one of the best characters in the series IMHO.
I agree with this after reading Dance with Dragons (he had the best parts in that book), but he was my 2nd or 3rd least favorite POV character until that book.
- Making Game of Thrones with a new vid: Arya Stark's New Look
I'm so glad that Arya's actress really nailed her character. She is my number one favorite character in the series, and I was worried because child actors often suck, but she's been fantastic so far. Can't wait to see her in Season 2, because that's the book where her character really became my favorite.

I'm beginning to think that he's feeding the showrunners future series info long before he writes it down. That way they can plan for their future while GRRM wastes his.

That would require him to actually have a plan for how the series is going which he doesn't. He just makes shit up as he goes along and then throws it out and makes it up again.

I feel you're making it sound a bit too hopeless but it definitely does sound like he doesn't know where he wants to go with the series. Especially with Daenerys, he's clearly stalling on that front.

What the fuck have people got against using spoilers in this thread? I now know that a few characters are alive for later books. Have a bit of consideration for the TV fans.

This isn't the spoiler free thread, unfortunately that thread is dead.

Also, you should read the books already.

Just because a character died in the first season doesn't mean more are going to die later on. The only way you could make this assumption is from reading the books, thereby giving you no right to comment on the apparent spoiler, because you have already ready read the books.

He knows how it ends, he just doesn't know how he's going to get there.

We do our best to mark spoilers. This place is no safe haven.

For book one, maybe but there are two other threads for book discussion, where you can post spoiler free to your hearts content.
One can be found here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=433233&page=51

Revealing that characters are still in other books further along in the series is undoubtedly a spoiler as now when or if those characters are in danger next season, the tension will be missing somewhat.

But posters are supposed to use spoiler tags in the spoiler thread. Writing that character X's chapters in Dance are their favorite is a spoiler.

Amusing to see you write this because I got a catalogue from BJ's (the wholesaler) a few days ago and on the second page is a shot of some dude with a Kindle touch reading ADWD. It showd the first page of the first
TYRION
chapter on the screen. Had I not read the books it would have annoyed me.
