This was actually a pretty good chapter, but still a showcase of how lame Kugo is as a villain by this point. This chapter shows why Ichigo is a pretty cool guy, but I'm not convinced of Kugo's reason for being a bad guy yet. Kugo is the new Hody Jones

Great chapter overall and the reveal is still rather shocking. It's nice to have it explained and that it isn't reliant on being prophetic.

Good chapter - generally quite tame and then the big reveal at the end. I wonder if "Joy Boy" was a D? Perhaps his promise has to do with the Ds legacy.

Again, I'm delighted that Jimbei isn't joining yet because he's boring. I'd be fine if he joins later when Strawhats get into wars again - his character works fine in those moments - but right now we need a more adventuresome team dynamic.

Verily, Oda is truly a storytelling mastermind like I previously indicated. Only have there been a few times in my manga reading experiences that Ive ever been flustered and agitated at one chapter and then left completely in shock and overjoyed at the next one, and the case of Jinbei is one of those. This means that there is hope afterall for Team Sabo, even if Im the only one on that team. Expanding on Nico Robin's subplot was excellent. This has been a good arc. Its good to see him finally learning how to tell a story from Mashima, however, it still seems awkward to have had a celebratory feast the week after it was just done in Fairy Tail, oh well, Im always game for feasts and partys in manga.

Zoro's take on heroes and Sanji with the mermaids were great.

So Jinbe won't be joining (for a while at least). Shirahoshi being Poseidon was a shock, and the ancient weapons not being just ships opens up a lot of possibilities.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Wadatsumi cover story in the future.

Pluton was a ship or at least something 'buildable'. Franky had the blueprints. It could also be that Poseidon = Noah + Seakings. Since only the Princess has the power to control the seakings then she is the 'weapon' because it is purely at her discretion on how to use the giant ship.

I'm fairly certain it's something along those lines.

Halycon we gotta have some high five or something going seriously. Totally called that shit with the power and Sea Kings connecting to the Void Century.

What's super crazy here is that Skypiea of all places is what did this (if I remember right, the second Skypiea Poneglyph was not part of Jaya, while the first was). I mean, what.
I can't deal with all these mysteries man. I've got high blood pressure.

Shirahoshi's inheriting the weapon is due to that thing about "mermaid growing out of a small bit of their ancestors' DNA" shenanigans so I can't say it can develop anywhere from here really. She got it, and that's all there is to that. I can't really see how Joy Boy will ever connect with this again... since humans don't have that DNA thing. Unless Joy Boy had a family and passed the entire thing orally.
I guess there's a chance the successor to Joy Boy doesn't even know about it. I doubt it's Luffy though because the Sea Kings flat out ignored him.


The party was great. Sanji freaking out and Luffy just not shutting up about the damn meat :lol good stuff.

Getting so close to a desperate situation. I almost thought Naruto was going to lose but what a surprise. I still think Naruto and Bee will get caught but it will be nice to see how many enemies the four of them can take out. I hope Guy uses Asa Kujaku.

Eh, I don't know. The Sea Kings + Noah were right there and they just eyerolled and put the ship elsewhere. It's connected to that promise thing (that even they are aware of, something Robin doesn't know).

Also there's the whole deal about Shirahoshi being the ruler of the Sea Kings. That's probably what nails it, and the ship is only connected to the promise.

Not to mention the text hinting the battle is over or something. Then the real battle ends in after 5-10 more chapters.

My favorite chapter of the three this week. I thought Kubo would go the route of having Ichida pull out some cool team up move but making it a pure one on one fight with substitute shinigami v substitute shinigame looked far cooler. Ichigo's poses were stunning.

Hopefully we get some hollowfication.
 
Naruto: I like the chapter. It kind of sucks that I really like the other jinchuriki's abilities and fighting styles, but they were all killed before getting a chance to shine. I'm sure Fake Madara will turn out to be someone from Kakashi's past... but hopefully NOT Obito. That partial face we saw was of an old guy, not scarred.

Maybe it's....... Danzo or Danzo related? I think it's
Kagami Uchiha. Danzo's squad partner, who was barely ever mentioned but was at least on par with Tobirama, Danzo, and Hiruzen in some respects, to be teamed with them

But we've seen people kill Sea Kings. VA Momonga was shown killing one just outside of Amazon Lily. That, to me at least, shows that at least some VAs as well as anyone higher + a bunch of high end pirates would be able to take down even the massive ones found at the sea floor.

This would indicate that just being able to control Sea Kings to destroy the world is a bit of a stretch. Again, it's not like Noah posed too much of a threat to Luffy but my logic simply follows that:
Noah was built to be pulled by Sea Kings
Poseidon could control Sea Kings
A big deal has been made that the 'Mermaid Princess' can control Sea Kings.

So Noah without Sea Kings is pretty useless.
Sea Kings without the Mermaid Princess are uncontrollable
Therefore Noah is useless/uncontrollable without the Mermaid Princess, which is why she is considered a weapon.

Maybe Joy Boy is apologizing for abusing MP's powers or for letting her down or something?

Also, why would Sea Kings + Noah do anything on their own? They know the ship was meant to be pulled by them, but no one has given them any instructions to do anything, maybe because everyone is ignorant of the matter.

Edit: To sum it up, I think the former MP is as much of a weapon as the nuclear football is a weapon. The football is just a briefcase which can launch US's nuclear weapons. The missiles themselves are a useless waste of space without the control unit.

Feels like it's really close to ending this time. Hopefully it does and it makes way for Hunter X Hunter in the big 3, where it belongs to be far more than Bleach.

The last frame was incredible. Kakashi really is a good character (that was nerfed to no end).

I just checked the chapter and I think it's a legitimate Sasuke win. Naruto went for the forehead protector while Sasuke hit him with a body shot. Cue friendship crap, Sasuke stands.

Oh so it's about that time for the bad guy to be monologuing his sad nonsensical tale of his past(flashback) while ichigo tries to be cool by pulling off a pose with those puppy dog eyes showing sympathy and finishing the opponent off to later spouting some nonsense in an attempt to be cool and deep.

kubo really need to learn some new tricks( prove me wrong kubo please)

I want all the beasts to fully transform and fight Naruto and Bee. Gonna be more badass. Naruto shouldn't be getting his ass kicked this easily. Why isn't he like mass cloning and spamming Rasengans left and right?

Ok so next chapter, how many pages before Kakashi is gonna be out of chakra? Any guesses?

Jinbei actually doesn't mind joining its just he feels its not time yet.

Party was cool and the reveal was nice(though lessened due to reading the spoilers).

Kishi actually remembers that Kakshi still exists and it looks like Madara's mask is cracking.

So everyone has that mini form though its funny that they look similar to the kyubbi one but with their corresponding number of tails.


Bleach

So Ichigo changed SS, who knew?

and please let Ginjou do something else (though i might be preaching to the choir here)

I wonder what kind of promise Joy Boy made. I thought it was using Noah to carry the fishmen to the surface, but I dunno, it doesn't seem that likely now.

It seemed to me that Jinbei isn't joining anytime soon. It was more of "I'm not joining now, but I will be on your side when the final war comes" type of thing.

I, and a lot of people knew. He changed Byakuya, Renji, Kenpachi and Ichigo told Byakuya that he will destroy SS rules 300 chapters ago when he fought him on the Sogyoku hill. Besides SS giving Ichigo his power back is an evidence that he change their way of thinking.

Killer Bee!!! What a boss, wiping out all of those trees like that. For a second, I legitimately thought he crippled the jins and was surprised (and annoyed) that he could seal them. But luckily, that wasn't the case! The fight continues, and all of them entered their V2 tailed beast modes. (wow) I'm not surprised in the slightest that Naruto is getting owned, this is way too much even for him. (and he's fucking spent quite a bit of his chakra too)

Overall, its a solid chapter held back its short length.

Bleach:

I'm convinced that Kubo is incapable of writing and drawing Bleach fights anymore. Instead of seeing the skirmish between Bankai Ichigo and Ginjou we get talking... and more talking... and more fucking talking + a final slash to end it. The things that Byakuya said was were completely unnecessary too, he doesn't need to outright state whats it implied. God, give me Ichigo vs Byakuya quality fights, not this crap -_-

Poor chapter.

Pretty solid chapter. I'm impressed at Oda's ability to wrap up arcs, and at least now we know for sure that Jinbei will eventually join. There were some legitimately funny moments in this chapter to boot. Shirahoshi was a poseidon pretty much guarantees that she won't be a straw hat... score.

Huh? Jinbe said he would join as soon as he took care of some other business. Which is the same answer every other Straw Hat has given Luffy, with the sole exception maybe of Usopp. Jinbe not saying "yes, let's go right now!" instantly should have been expected. He's still joining the crew. Hell, Neptune or Shirahoshi will probably make him join.

Anyway, Poseidon! Fuck yeah! The most interesting thing of all there, though, is that Robin has been aware that the ancient weapon was on Fishman Island the entire time and never said a word. Very sneaky, Robin.

Good stuff. More Void Century stuff = always a good thing.

Turns out those hyped up legendary 7 swordsmen of the blood hidden mist are just another bunch of chumps not even worth finishing off on screen.

Once upon a time, I once cared about those side characters in naruto but after a decade of being nothing but worthless I no longer care.

The anime team will probably add filler to that fight and the other off-panel fights, since at the very least it makes the show go at a slower pace.....if they ever stop the current filler :(
