believers -

Finally got around to finishing it, and it was good. I think parallels to Aum Shinrikyo are obvious and needn't be pointed out.

I didn't like the end very much - especially the exposition detailing just what happened, and how. I don't think an explanation of how the cult came about was necessary; the story just needed its existence as a looming presence motivating and justifying their ever-deteriorating actions.

..I remember really liking the ending when I read this, loved the backstory of the cult on how
it all got started with simple gaming urban myth of this game healing people (if I remember correctly) where the fanboys made a cult but as it went and merged with other cults getting more and more convoluted as it got bigger.
.

Anyways I really liked Believers and its one I Cwarrior would recommend manga gaf.

Oh! My Goddess - 48

woah! best single chapter story. I hope is still a long way till the next action-drama arc.

Funny how I need just 12 years for loving OmG

Don't worry, soon you'll be in the same boat as the rest of us.

Damn I knew I shouldn't have started the chimera ant arc.

HxH Volume 26

They've been cockteasing a pissed off Gon for a few volumes now, and they havn't even started The Kings fight, I wonder if he's having tea with Chairman Netero while shit is getting real everywhere else.

This is where you're wrong in a lot of ways. Of course Kishimoto has moments similar to last week's where his art is just downright putrid, and I'm not turning a blind eye to that, but this chapter kind of combines them all. Sketchy art, TERRIBLY drawn backgrounds (which is what Kishimoto is usually good at!), terrible proportions (again his proportions are pretty consistently good), and nothing interesting going on whatsoever. The art in last chapter is too busy and offensively assumes we think these characters are badass, especially since it's following a minuscule amount of chapters of actual awesome characters like the Five Kage, which also pisses me off greatly. Yeah let's switch from something actually important, to this garbage.

It isn't just the art either but also the fact that all of them have the Rinnegan and Sharingan, which is still abysmally idiotic

I just want to point that this fight specifically determines the outcome of the entire war (and the world as a result) so I fail to see how their fight is more important. The kage fight isn't nearly as important in which if they lose (which i'm pretty sure they will) the war will still go on.

As an aside, are you usually this ornery over Naruto...?

You're paying attention to the clock right? Most events during the invasion don't happen in order of occurrence

That'd be impossible to rate cause that goes way bellow failing as a manga. By that point, it gets personally offensive to me. I would probably rate it an "F" but there's so much more things wrong with it that graded quality is pretty minuscule to how much magnitude terrible it is. It goes beyond manga as being one of the worst plot twists in the entirety of literature itself.
I'm gonna be honest, I find this post a little disturbing. You shouldn't get angry in real life over a bad plot a product you routinely steal and have never paid for in your entire life. I'm going to go out on a limb and say I've never considered the plot of anything as personally offensive, and I watched all six seasons of LOST.

The reference to "the entirety of literature itself?" I....don't know what to say to that. I mean, how old are you? I mean, really? The ENTIRETY of the written word? Naruto is the worst? EVER?!

If your scale is ostensibly A-F, but goes under F, your scale is nonsensical. The point of F is that you know, it's F. It doesn't go below F.

Waiting a week for a new chapter is NOTHING compared to waiting months to a year+. Weekly chapters are nothing

I think he means that Togashi will probably go on hiatus again soon. I mean you really never know with the guy and until he flat out says "I'm not taking anymore long hiatuses", we all have the right to be a bit paranoid.

If this wave lasts more than 20 chapters I will be legitimately surprised.

It's possible (<-just so I have backup if it does happen), but I don't think it's likely.

I would laugh at you if you believed Togashi after he said, "I'm not taking any more long hiatuses."

It's Togashi. He once turned in like three chapters consisting entirely of scribbles.

Just some points to clear up here:

1. Actually I own a good portion of Part 1 Naruto on DVD, I used to be a huge Naruto fan back in the day and gave up on the series when it went into filler hell
2. Yes the entirety of literature itself. The Twilight Saga, Eragon, FATAL and fanfiction is better written than parts of Naruto, and that's just shameful and artistically bankrupt,
3. My scale doesn't go under F, the graded scale just judges quality in general, but the Moon Eye development goes out of it's way to go beyond it's lack of quality to be complete shit.

I'm reminded of Louis CK's most recent CD about people who declare hatred for consumer products. How does that feeling exist?

The Twilight Saga, Eragon, Fatal and the fanfiction community (yes, I know fanfics have existed forever, but you have no ability to read any of those) are all things were which invented in the last 10 years. Just saying.

One of the comics I've ever read. loved it.

One Piece

Was just reading on SA, someone pointed out the oddity in page 15 of that table of food mysteriously being eaten. They think it must be Caribou lurking around.

Hm it seems the spine WASN'T Bakuman for this year. They just used Bakuman for issue 1 since it was on the cover.

I looked at that and was sure Bakuman's gonna last 2012.
it probably will/spoiler]

And you still can't name very much that is worse than them

Also the fanfiction community has been around for decades

I fixed it for you; you can't read any of those because it's just stuff people wrote at their house and isn't available for you to read. I can name lots and lots of things that are worse than Twilight, because unlike you, I've read more things in my lifetime than Naruto, HxH, One Piece and Bleach. It's just a stupid kids plot.

I'm not saying you don't have the right to think it's a dumb plot, but I'm saying being offended by the plot is something you aren't entitled to.

Isn't that just... the food being eaten?

Like, to show they're eating stuff and having fun.

I can name mangas with worse plots. Give me a second to think of them.

You say you can but you actually can't, cause there's nothing. Reading TV Tropes isn't going to help you with that because Twilight has some of the worst writing ever put on paper just for the style of writing alone. It's something that you have to experience, not read about

it probably will

So there is a small chance of Bakuman ending in 2012 after all?

I kinda wonder if we ever gonna get trolled and have Reversi get an anime but then Miho can't be in it and they will have to get another anime after it.

Fairy Tail

QED

Neither of those manga have low points as abysmal as Naruto does, you're gonna have to provide better examples.

QED isn't a manga. It's a latin statement.

Besides, how would you even know? You've never even read Fairy Tail. Arguing the merits of stuff you've never read is seriously weird conversation, really.

I've read Fairy Tail a fairly long time ago but no I don't read it weekly.

If you can name one example in it that's worse than anything in Naruto I'll give you a pass on it. But I dunno, maybe Mai-chan's Daily Life is worse? That probably works

Really, what's the plot about?

Eh I've read both over 1000 years ago. Give me something else
What was the plot of these two manga too? (Onani Master Kurosawa and My Balls)

One Piece/Bleach but with wizards, when I read a couple of volumes I didn't really see anything too offensive about it. Then again this was around the time it first started getting scanlated

My Balls is about a fairy/alien inside of some dude's balls. Of a couple of volumes reading on 4chan I got tired of it, same with Master Kurosawa which is about masturbation.

YOU HAVE NEVER READ MASTURBATION MASTER KUROSAWA

No, I meant give a generalized picture of what happens in the beginning, middle and end of these manga you supposedly read.

Bleach (ch 476)

-I just saw a Sun-Ken Rock group walk.

I have a lot to say for a chapter where a lot of responses are "meh." This chapter illustrates the impact of the "bad-ass pose." We all see it and most of the time you get amped up. Here is the downfall of the BA pose though. If the enemy sucks, then you are amped for about 1 second before becoming disappointed. You could take the same "let's do this" type panel and place it in a chapter with Aizen. The same art and dialogue would be 10x better. That's how important the context of the enemy is.

The same goes for those surrounding the battle. They become more intertwined in a joke. This battle is stupid so they are stupid for even treating it seriously. Within the narrative that isn't true, but it is realistic from a reader's perspective. A bad enemy brings down everything. With that said, Ginjo sucks and his poison spreads. All dialogue loses weight and the idea of "tension" I always speak of is lost.

The enemy is important.

Moving along, back to the content. Rukia just shows respect to Ichigo which is long overdue. Or in better terms, painfully obvious but just not vocalized. We know Ichigo changed SS and so did everyone involved. Toshi's little speech was kinda sweet but nothing was enlightening. And the idea of killing them both goes back to something I said a long time ago. If that was to happen it would on Ichigo making the wrong choice. Ichigo doesn't make the wrong choice, we knew SS changed, so the outcome was just what we saw in this chapter.

In a better manga world the enjoyable dialogue and mannerisms would be saved for when better content is in play. If you ever wondered why the battles with Aizen were so enjoyable as well as the dialogue, you could put that in perspective.

Ch in 3 (respect, change, overpowering)

There was a Twilight trailer playing on TV once and for the entire time I thought it was for Vampires Suck until the title came on at the end then I realized it was Twilight.

True story.

I didn't read to the end of any of these manga. I don't really remember the plot of Onani other than some lulz, awesome shit, relationships between the characters, which I eventually got bored of fast.

My Balls was a fun series that I did like, but reading it on the chans is pretty tedious so I just gave up and went to bed. I remember that the character was going to save the world from an evil fairy and that's really all I recall of it.

As for Fairy Tail I remember reading it around the time I read One Piece (2006/2007) which was around the time it first came out. I lost interest after the first two volumes, and I don't remember shit about what happened in it (I barely remember what happened in One Piece most of the time). I remember it being compared to both One Piece and Bleach though which got me interested at the time.

One Piece

The food isn't misterious, but the shadow is, why would it change, if they are in a hall at the bottom of the ocean. Is the eve tree the luminaire of the room, not some glowfish?

Also FT examples that are worse than Naruto's "lowest points." Natsu eats lightning to make lightning fire. Gajeel is immune to fire, but Natsu breathes hotter fire to defeat him. Natsu stops thinking to beat Snake guy in combat. Gerard is everywhere. Gerard is the object of the Oracion Seis arc. There is a time skip in which no one ages.

Bleach: Kenpachi uses two hands. Kubo spends 2 years on the Karakura war arc. Kubo reuses the Quincy Gloves plot on Ichigo to effectuate a time skip. Aizen is defeated in 12 chapters; his underlings take an entire arc. Ichigo returns to life in Hollow form despite having his chest blown out and it is never explained. Yumichika has a secret Shikai that he doesn't use; Ikkaku has a secret bankai he never uses. Nel has an adult form with big boobs. Quincies kill Hollows, which means they are enemies with Soul Society; Soul Society doesn't care when Ishida does it.

I could go on and on with just those two series.

How convenient you don't remember the plot of anything. The only fact you stated here is that there's an evil fairy in My Balls, which is not even close to right.

I just came up with a great idea for a new manga.

Slice of life about Angry Grimace living with Big One.

Where can I pitch this?

"Grimace can you get some milk from the store?"
"Have you ever even tried milk?"
"'Course I have."
"Describe it."
"It's wet."

What about "using magic share of tomorrow"?

Someone once told me that Naruto, the manga, generally works better when you read them in the form of volumes. They are too slow when you're reading them in a weekly format where you have to wait week after week...

And after reading it so, I agree with him. Yes, the manga isn't perfect, but the arcs do work better when reading them a stack at a time. This is why I dislike grading the chapters too. I'd rather rate the series as a whole after it ends.

I mean seriously, have you read Dragonball during the Great Saiyaman arc? That was bad.

They both stink but Fairy Tail bores me to death. Every arc I read always ended the exact same way and the action was never entertaining. I remember there being a few weird plot holes too. So glad I dropped it. Bleach takes 20 seconds to read and I like the art.
