Agreed. I think if they were considering it, the feedback they've received from the press and community will have swayed them.

PS3 Dev unit. Arne once said they capture x2 renders directly from a dev unit as well, pretty likely they render cutscenes the same way. They're rendered using the game engine after all.

The Cutscenes in the Uncharted games are closer to the gameplay than 90% of the games out these days. Better texture pack and lighting are the only differences.

She should be the playable character. Imagine a whole game being like the Bella levels in Siren (ok, she can keep the knife

I hope both characters are not together the whole time as I'm not sure how this will affect the atmosphere in such kind of game... (imagine stupid NPC standing around/ never-ending escort mission etc.). It worked in Enslaved etc, but that had a different tone.
Crazy that ND/Sony could hide all this even with the hint being present in UC3.

No there is a big difference. They captured press shots at twice the resolution. Just screenshots. The cinematics are rendered on PCs. It would be completely illogical to do so on the PS3 when the engine/editor is running right there on their PCs where they can use whatever resource they want to do whatever they want. Big difference from taking shots from the in-game parts at higher resolution.

The fact that Naughty Dog is doing this just makes it that much more better. I love the whole concept of it, but that trailer was somewhat underwhelming. It doesn't have that "it" factor yet for me... good thing this is probably really early in development.
Props to Naughty Dog for coming up with such an original doomsday scenario though. I'm excited more for the premise and the story rather than the game itself at this point.

I'm fine with it being zombie/whatever based. I'm interested to see how they approach it.
Not really, very different art styles. Anyway, why do people insist it's a zombie game when the monsters look nothing like zombies?

ND is not going to drop UC them having 2 teams now is even more reason why they can do more.
They can do new IP plus UC or the Last Of Us if it turn big like UC.

Simple, I'm not hating it's gameplay or story development. I'm hating (and that's my fault for having high hopes with close to zero information) on the actual premise.
I truly expected a realistic take on survival after a pandemic cataclysm. Where tension would be constructed because other humans are doing anything to survive. Much like The Road.
But then in the premise he dispatches a human but there is nothing to it, the real tension were... monsters. Which totally went against my hopes.
And to your answer... again, for the premise of the teaser, I was expecting something realistic. I'm totally fine with Uncharted solutions for the unnatural. That doesn't mean games can't take it self seriously, and have grounded construction for events.
I wasn't saying anything about the games quality (its amazing). I was just referring to general sentiment that we don't really need another Uncharted right now and would rather them work on something new. Everytime i've heard it discussed on a podcast someone has brought it up.

Yup. I had absolutely no faith that the announcement would live up to the hype, but it did. Amazing.

Last of Us goes for number 2. I don't see how it even matters what type of monsters they are supposed to be. What matters is how it plays.

this sounds like the game I wanted "I am Alive" to be when it was originally announced. But really with what Naughty Dog is now....I don't trust that synopsis. I really really hope that this is survival horror and not just a shoot-fest like the Uncharted series.
