Ok. This is ridiculous. I've NEVER said that the Sedins aren't great players. But for fuck's sake, they play a very particular type of game and aren't very good at a lot of other important aspects of the game. Players like them certainly serve a very important purpose, but they excel in one area and need help in others. There's a reason that the Sedins are the types of players that their coaches try to get "matchups" for. You are trying to emphasize their skills. Compare that to the Girouxs, Toews, Richards, Kopitars, Getzlafs, etc. Those are the types of players you ALWAYS want on the ice. The Sedins are not that type of player at all. It's just a different role.
I think the all around players are more impressive personally, clearly Nucks-Age disagrees.... Whatever. Why is everyone so up in arms about the statement that they don't play a complete game? MOST players don't MOST superstars don't. Even Crosby had to significantly improve his defensive game after entering the NHL. Gretzky wasn't much of a PK guy either.....
PS Hartnell has 26 points and and can lay a guy out. Call him a tough guy all you want but the guy produces too. I would
take him over either sister any day.
