All this talk about Uncanny X-Force is making me interested.

Any recommendations for a starting point in the main series? (Preferably TPBs)

i'm sure there's a trade of the new series, just look for an uncanny x-force trade that has rick remender's name on it

edit: the series is only on issue 18(?) so you can catch up on the entire run so far

So.

I hold the opinion that Avengers: X-Sanction is a piece of shit.

Is there anyone willing to discuss the matter with me?

It's what I expected, pretty much: nothing offensively bad in the script, but still written in the "what would a 12-year-old boy find 'cool'" mode of all of Loeb's work from the last few years. Nice art, also. (I think it kinda ignored the specific manner of Cable's death in Second Coming, though.)

Dude forget that! WIDGET!!!

WAIT WAIT WAIT Deadpool? on a Team?

SOLD!!!!!!!!!

i want to read batwoman so badly but i have finals and juydsgfjhdbnmgfrbewuybkjhfds

;_;

i shouldnt even be on gaf right now but im addicted ;_;

Demon Knights was pretty nifty. And then you get hit by a bunch of Wildstorm references, which you think are kinda clever. And then you notice that there's also one RIGHT IN THE TITLE OF THE BOOK and you're kinda fucking amazed it took you this long to notice.

Here is the plan:

Study and take breaks to read a page or two of Batwoman. Use it as a motivational tool. Everyone wins!

Unless you fail your finals, then I will feel awful for suggesting this. D:

how are the wildstorm references in the title of the book? I feel like an idiot for asking, i totally missed the stormwatch ties in the first few issues

Agreed on all counts, the end included.

Genesis is maybe my favorite new development in the X-World. JEAN GREY SCHOOL INCLUDED.

Absolutely. Really enjoyed this arc. Though my favorite scene from the series is still Deadpool feeding Angel
his flesh

Anybody picked up Carnage USA? Thought the mini-series was kind of lackluster.

True story: So I've just left work and am on my way into Lafayette to hit the comic shop and pick up the new releases. I'm going over the things I'm supposed to buy in my head and thinking about how f*ck-awesome the Uncanny X-Force issue is going to be; I mean, it's polybagged and everything, how could it not be f*ck-awesome? So then I start thinking about how f*ck-awesome ALL of the X-books are right now, with Remender and Aaron, and Gillen and Liu, and Asmus and Wood, and Pak and David. Then, as I start thinking about WatXM and how much I'm looking forward to the next issue, that blacked out page from an upcoming issue -- the one posted in this thread -- pops into my head, and then it hits me like a bolt of lightning...

...what if
the blackouts are covering up that Kid Apocalypse from Uncanny X-Force? Like maybe Fantomex gets found out and they free him, and Wolverine integrates him into the school so they can all keep a close watch on him and everything?

And then I'm in the car with my swag and the first thing I do is tear into my copy of UXF to see what happens. And BAM.

Isn't that just the craziest thing? :O

You've been reading comics so long that you expect the twists.

Remender and Aaron DID say there would be some crossover with their books, and that WATXM #4 spoils a bit of UXF #18. Plus, this just seems like a logical next step for Genesis. Kid aint fit for X-Force, but he can learn about being a mutant at Jean Grey's School. I expect we'll get a lot of fall-out/epilogue in the next issue.

YES.

So glad people are liking Remender's work... Now go and buy Franken-Castle!

YES.

Finally got the chance to read Batwoman.

I'm enjoying how it's all coming together. Looking forward to the next two issues when everything starts getting wrapped up.

Also, can't emphasize each month enough how much I dig the art style and how the paneling is set up. So good.

I might regret doing this, but I saw a few things here I figured I'd clear up for the folks who enjoyed the story.

Warren did die. His mind is 100% gone, he's dead.

What/who was that at the end?

-Remender comments at CBR

Yeah, I don't see reading a single comic as a huge distraction from studying. Hell when I was in school I would sidetracked from studying for finals for multiple hours on the dumbest things.

Gave myself a small reward for acing some of my finals and got my comics.

Batwoman #4 was absolutely beautiful, as always.
I'm so glad Bette didn't die, although now that Chase knows Kate's identity, shit is going down. Super excited!

Avengers Academy - Please don't cancel this please don't cancel this. Anyways, I still have to catch up since I was reading it in trades until I heard that the sales were pretty bad.
I'm going to assume this is not the first time we find out that Reptil is actually his future self joyriding in his younger body? Damn... pretty ominous. I don't want anyone to die. Especially not Hazmat. :( Anyways, I liked the coming out scene with Striker and Julie Power. We don't normally see bisexual characters in superhero comics either, so that's pretty nice.

Also picked up I think last week's Wolverine and the X-Men #2, and I'm still not digging the new Hellfire Club as teenage villains. Seeing Bobby actually doing shit and not being on the bench was a nice change. This is also the first time I'm reading X-Men since Joss Whedon's Astonishing run, so I'm just kind of going with the flow for now...

good god uncanny x-force!! that omnibus can't come soon enough. the pay off and wrap off to 18 issues was so good AND it set up new stuff too. Bendis can learn a thing or two about writing from this book.

Question:
is Sunfire dead?
