If DCharlie is reading this, the test he needs to run is:
(1) Buy PSN games from 2 accounts on the same PS3
(2) Try to copy/install both games to the one account on the Vita

1) i already have PSN games on 2 accounts on the same PS3 - or are you talking about Vita stuffs?

2) i can tell you right now what will happen, when you try to copy across it's going to say "nope, you cannot copy this content from this account to this PSV" rather than what i was HOPING it would do and it say "this PSV is registered to <account> do you wish to authorise for this new account? Note: your old account won't work"

- i'll see how a factory reset is or if there's any other work arounds. I've got to take my son somewhere after i get my machine for a couple of hours so those AWESOME FOLKS at :

RED SUN GAMER

are more likely to be cover this before i can.

Again does anyone know if they're doing a midnight release for this?

some smaller places might, and maybe the odd dumb ass will let things sell at the odd Tsutaya but no - in general the units will be available at 7-8am tomorrow. Somewhere may break *coughlamcoughtacoughracoughcough*

What I don't understand is why there are no vita games and demos yet on the japanese PSN.

Yes, the console will be out in around 24 hours, but they have to be prepared.

Well it's just I have an appointment at 10 am tomorrow and midnight would be much more preferable. I also don't know what time Midori opens in the morning.

Wait, you can buy the games via ps store? So you can only buy the device now? And when you get it download the games you want via the store??

Basically this. The two Tsutayas where I asked (Fuchu and Shinjuku) didn't seem like they're going to break it though.

What's funny is that at least one of those is open until 1AM if I'm not mistaken and they still want to sell it in the morning. Why!? :<

Basically, yeah, but you also need a memory card for that, so it's not just the device.

I'm not sure I'm getting you, but yes all Vita games (the ones released to retail, PSN-exclusives, etc.) will be purchase- able on PSN, but they will be only playable on Vita. DangerousDave is questioning why Sony hasn't put the games, and demos up in preparation of the Vita launch on the 17.

The major Japanese updates happen at like 11PM EST tonight, so that's when I'd expect to start seeing Vita content to pop up.

Yes, Vita or PSP games.

Aiight, I'll see what comes out from people's experiments.

yup - Chameleon club for one - the local one is open to 1am, the one at the place i used to live at used to open until 2am.

They'd break on games but not hardware. Same old story.

Because it's fair to us US gamers.

Redsungamer will be live streaming the Vita launch and I'm pretty sure they will be taking questions.

Just follow them @Redsungamer to keep track of when they start their live stream.

Here are those PlayStation Vita ads from Japan:

Very strange coincidence...

lol.

Can anyone set up a short guide on what I should do to order a Wi-fi Vita and how much would I pay with everything included (Wi-fi Vita, 4GB card, shipping...)?

follow the guide on the site, it's pretty self-explanatory.

I think it'll be the price of Vita and memory cards from yen to dollars + your CC's foreign transaction fee + Tenso S/H which is probably $50 give or take + extra fees for the lithium battery.

BTW you don't need to sign up for separate amazon.jp account, your US account works. You just need a Japanese address.

Its actually more expensive then I thought it would be.....they charged me like 520 USD and now I have to pay Tenso too...

This is for the 3g model+16 GB cart

I don't think I'm saving much....compared to ordering from a import site like yesasia.com (they don't ship to EU tho?)

oh well

Yeah... All together that would be out of my range, dammit. Guess I have to hold out until February. :(

Thanks anyway. :P

If you are in the US go with NCSX, they ship from NY so no worrying about customs. And the WiFi Vita is "only" $479.99 there, almost $50 less than PA.

I enjoy going for the "launch day" fun too but if you are in the USA where the device is reputed to be in the $250 range in February.

Why would you import it for double the price instead of waiting 2 more months?

The only reason I'm importing is to get Vita coverage up on a site I run. And I can write it off on taxes. Otherwise, I would not even consider forking over $500 to get it early.

Well, Amazon shipped my memory card...

Expected delivery date 12/23. :p Looks like they sent it via Japan Post. Anyone know if it will really take that long to arrive (to an address in Tokyo)?

Edit: Answering my own question, I went on the Japan Post website and tracked the package to get the origin zipcode (Osaka) and checked on their delivery time calculator, looks like it'll probably be there tomorrow morning if it is going by Yu-pack...

I *think* I got a confirmation e-mail from Bic Camera yesterday to say mine'd been shipped out. Really hoping it arrives while I'm home tomorrow. Still need to go somewhere local to pick up games and a memory card. I'm thinking Katamari, Ridge Racer and Uncharted. I somehow doubt places near me will be stocking 32GB cards though...

It really depends, I've got my Amazon orders delivered in 1-3 days.

Edit:
For all interested, 4gamer posted information about the opening hours of shops selling Vita in Tokyo.　The earliest one is 7:00 and there's a list of opening hours for specific Yodobashi/Bic cameras.

Interesting that they're doing this, but sadly, no interesting information there.

This is like a very short instruction manual plus info about which Vita features require Memory Card/PSN account.
Yeah, the only semi surprises to me are that you can't copy media to the Vita without a PSN account but I can't imagine that is a big deal to anyone (also you can't use near with a minor's PSN account if I am understanding this correctly)

Yup, people under 18 can't use near. A bit weird, true.
