Except jumping across gaps was the whole of the vehicle.

And you guys are right: Motorcycles built into tanks and sonar vision are stupid, too. But the flying Tumbler is even worse. Just because some bullshit existed in Batman 1 and 2 doesn't excuse Batman 3 from all criticism.

In the end you can't explain it all away. How come none of the detectives or policemen figure out its Bruce? How come no one can put 2 and 2 together? Its a comic book movie about a man in a bat costume. Yes its grounded in reality but not all of it is obviously realistic.

How come the US gov't doesn't set up a task force to catch him or investigate him?

And of the top of my head I can think of one possibility
movie takes place 8 years after TDK. TDK took place months after BB. The only think Wayne Enterprises engineer's would have noticed would be the tumbler, which was also shelved years ago. So in 8 years all they could have connected the dots to would be the tumbler.

I think a lot of people are going to go out of their way to make sure the movie falls victim to the third movie curse. The levels of nitpicking has risen.

Gordon knows who he is. Even in the comics he has known for years but he believes in him so he keeps it a secret.

It's only going to get worse, no matter how good/bad the film actually ends up being.

Part of the GAF cycle too. Every movie gets downgraded to mediocre after a few years.

Happened to TDK...will happen to this one.

Anyway DM new thread for when trailer is officially released online?

There was a new thread made for the Bane/Hathaway-Catwoman announcement, and another one for the JGL/Marion announcement, but people still keep defaulting back to this one. :lol

Right of course but the point is if some cop/detective/agency wanted to, they could trace it all back to Bruce. The whole idea that some vigilante is protecting a city while the rest of the country/government watches and does not interfere is hard to comprehend. At some point you have to realize that no matter how grounded in reality Nolan tries to keep the movie or how grounded in reality Batman himself is compared to other superheroes/comics....it is at the end still a movie where you have to suspend your beliefs somewhat. The Batwing is one of those.

I am even sure Nolan will try to explain away how or why he has a plane. They spent like a whole hour on this in BB just explaining the various things he acquires for his armor.

I guess those are more for those accouterments. This is the grand daddy of them all that binds everything together.

Even after the trailer thread, I am sure people will default to this one.

Although I'm sure it's annoying Nolan right now that he couldn't make a real working Batwing like they did with the Tumbler and Batpod.

the best part of the prologue is when the doctor tries to convince Bane that he didn't say anything. think about the situation. Bane is tied up on a plane in midair surrounded by a CIA agent and soldiers with guns, but the doctor is still scared. And Bane responds by staring at him, like "you fucked up, g."

Gordon knows who he is. Even in the comics he has known for years but he believes in him so he keeps it a secret.

There are different reasons. I think Gordon mentioned in the comics that he could figure out who Batman is, but he doesn't want to. And in the cartoon episode about Batgirl's nightmare, Gordon had a reason, and figured it out.

It's sort of like how the Joker tries to kill Batman but doesn't want him dead.

We know that the earthquake machine initiated it. The rendition of the effects lack real insight.

I don't think that ball is an earthquake machine, just a large array of controlled charges it the basement under the pitch, and we know Bane likes his detonator (seen him use it 3 times now!)

I think the earthquake machine theory first came up when we saw a huge tear of earth that they built in the stadium, now it's obvious this was just a temporary platform for the football player to run along, and for the other guys to fall off the edge onto crash mats.

The ball is a nuke, Dr. Pavel is a nuclear power expert.

Went to see Sherlock 2 tonight, after hearing buzz that the trailer was attached. So I was looking forward to the trailer and a decent film.

Not only was there no trailer, but Sherlock 2 was a steaming pile of arse.

Disappointment combo :(

the fact that the trailer/prologue show off JGL means Gordon is probably gonna die and JGL takes over for him. :(

Thanks Veidt!

Could anyone PM me the prologue please?

Thanks in advance.

Just saw the new trailer. Pretty good, but I still scene the football scene looks stupid. And for the stuff I saw in the trailer that was also included in the prologue ending:

Bat Wing, or whatever it's called, is just out of place. Whatever purpose it may have in the movie, it best be a good one

Bane looks fucking RIDICULOUS in that coat

Can't wait to see more of Selina

The Bane/Batman fight in the rain......I can only imagine how it's gonna go down

I went in to Mission Impossible not expecting to see any Batman footage whatsoever since the only screening of the early footage in the area was sold out. I didn't think a trailer would be attached.

But boy I'll tell you what, as soon as that "Syncopy" logo popped up, I was mentally holding on to my armrests for dear life to prepare for what was about to wash over me.

It was beautiful.

did you understand what Bane said? i thought it was impossible.

All I got was "
you have permission to die
," or something along those lines, which i thought was really cheesy so I assumed that wasn't what he said. It was really hard to tell. It did sound like gibberish.

Some quotes:

Selina: "There's a storm coming, Mr. Wayne. You and your friends better batten down the hatches. Because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large, and leave so little for the rest of us..."

Bane: "When Gotham is ashes... You'll have my permission to die."

Some guy in the theatre I was in was trying to tell me the prologue was attached to the movie. I tried explaining that it wasnt. After the trailer was over you just hear him tell his friend "I'm fucking pissed right now"

Having seen only the prologue, my problem with understanding Bane is he kept talking at the same volume even as shit was hitting the fan. I suppose it fits with the character (he's in control all the time, not worried, etc), but damn if it doesn't make him impossible to understand.

Dialogue is trash just like TDK's.
