Just been alerted by gamestracker to some rather good prices at GAME/GameStation...

Zelda Skyward Sword £24.99
http://www.game.co.uk/en/the-legend-of-zelda-skyward-sword-48511

Xenoblade Chronicles £19.99
http://www.game.co.uk/en/xenoblade-chronicles-139769

Star Fox 64 3D £19.99
http://www.game.co.uk/en/star-fox-64-3d-122848

Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D £19.99
http://www.game.co.uk/en/the-legend-of-zelda-the-ocarina-of-time-3d-122840

These are not yet posted on hotukdeals, and Zelda SS and Xenoblade probably wont be around for too long at those prices (although maybe Amazon will price match before they go out of stock?) so I would get in quick if interested.

Thanks, my local Game still had copies of Xenoblade with the controller last week, I am now going to have to punish myself for gong out drinking instead of watching this thread if I've missed out.

On amazon Marketplace Gzoop have a few 3DS games for ~£12+£2.03

Dead of Alive 3D £11.58
Nintendogs and Cats French Bulldog £11.03

Gzoop being in the channel Islands means you'll probably see them in January (does that miss the cut-off for free Kid Icarus 3D Classics and entering the ugly 3DS competition?). Apparently with Nintendogs it keeps coming in and out of stock.

Speaking of the Channel Islands. Did anyone get the £2 Mystery Case Files off off Amazon Black Friday. I think mine has gone missing as the Amazon estimate was 2 weeks ago.

I've bought as many games in the last week as I have through the rest of the entire year, and I've spent about a tenth as much. This is getting ridiculous.

Games in UK are cheaper because the games get discounted, but also because they still have the british pound which, if you look graphs of the evolution of currency, fell a lot in value compared to the euro. So what today means 43€

Let's take the begin of this generation:

2007-01-01 January 01, Monday 1.48412 EUR

That was the value on the start of 2007

In the last years it has been oscilating from a quite close value of 1.02 to 1.20 approx. So guess what that meant

a game that RRPP at 39 pounds meant 57€ in 2007,

in 2009 it meant 40€

And now 46€

all approximate values.

Then we have to understand the market saturation of games and sequels, and how they realized the incredible increase in sales when they drop the price on them.

And that's why UK is such a sweet spot for games since 2-3 years ago.

Funnily enough the Gamestation deals are easily viewable by changing the date on the end of the URL, fancy that! (Only works for the weekend deals so far)

If you reigster both you might be able to enter the competition to win the special 3DS (choose which one you want carefully, I can see Mario and Peach as being a pinch more likely to win but Toad is the only one that does not look awful) and a free copy of 3D Classics Kid Icarus which makes it a rather expensive gamble.

Yeah, I might just do that.

I can see Starfox staying at that price (or going lower), but it's still a decent deal.

Well I contacted Amazon asking where it was and when they could get me another one. While they would normally just send it again they can't this time as they claim its "unavailable from our suppliers" so they gave me a refund instead. I was surprised how quick they were.

Are those deals available in store or only online?
Apologies for the late reply, I think for the daily deals they're online only. The in store ones have been across multiple days (Skyrim, Saints Row)

Of course, feel free to correct me if I'm horribly mistaken guys.

Not sure if this has already been posted or not(?) but...
Wii - GoldenEye 007 Limited Edition (With Gold Classic Controller Pro) £14.99 at HMV:-
http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;0;-1;-1;-1&sku=204820
The Gold Classic Controller Pro should go nicely with the Gold Zelda Wii Remote Plus! <EDIT> Or not? Apparently the detailing isn't quite the same:-
As for the remote matching. Gold CC Pro has gold buttons and a black cord. Gold remote has white buttons (looking inconsistent). Gold nunchuck (currently Club Nintendo Japan only) has gold buttons and a white cable.

Endless Ocean 2: Adventures of the Deep £16.85 at ShopTo as part of their weekly deals:-
http://www.***********/WII/VIDEO GAMES/WIIEN01-Endless Ocean 2.html
Best price I have seen for this game, and stock seems to be low/sold out at many places, so perhaps last chance to get it for a reasonable price?...Then again it could be one of those cases where discounted stock starts appearing everywhere!

Bought! It's rare for it to drop to less than £25. Whack a custom soundtrack on (Aquatic Ambience works) and chill out.

Quick heads up in case these haven't already been mentioned. Xenoblade Chronicles with the red classic controller is down to £19.99 and PSN £35 boxed cards are down to £25 instore at GAME. You might have trouble finding stores with any copies of the special Xenoblade set still in stock, but larger non-city stores should have a couple lying around.

It was that price about a week ago. Like most HMV online deals it'll be cancelled and I assume the instore price is different.

Does anyone know whether the day the game is shipped counts towards the 21 days one has to wait before being able to complain to zavvi?

It looks like my uncharted 3 went missing :(. Would be the first ever online purchase that didn't make it...

Don't want to panic anyone but if you bought one of those £20 for £10 HMV vouchers you might want to think about spending it sooner rather than later
http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2011/dec/16/hmv-half-year-losses

HMV has called suppliers to an urgent meeting on Monday, the same day as the troubled entertainment chain is due to tell the City it has racked up first half losses of nearly £40m and its busy Christmas trading period has failed to provide the hoped-for bounce in sales.

One supplier told the Guardian it had stopped trading with the group in recent months rather than risk not getting paid if it encounters financial difficulties while others have asked for stringent terms such as payments in advance.

.....

Retail analyst Nick Bubb has pencilled in loss of £38m for six months to the end of October and thinks it would be lucky to even cancel that out at the full year stage. "Next week is seriously make or break for HMV: if it goes well and they can just about get to break-even for the year, then technology will have worked and they will have a story to take to new equity investors. If it goes badly, then the net debt position will be overwhelming and administration will loom next month.

What I want to know is how is HMV losing so much money? the store in my town is always packed with shoppers and is rather popular, it's odd.

A couple of years ago they decided to move the business towards selling more HW(BR, Ipods, etc.) & merchandise (Band t-shirts, etc) because they took so long getting a decent website(did you know they set up a social networking site for a while). Add that to the over-expansion during the "boom" years & management that seemed to want to be out of the retail sector ( hence the buying of all the venues a couple of years ago).
