The difference here is that the Joker looked fucking awesome and Bane looks kinda hokey. Joker's makeup didn't need to "disappear" because it never stood out in a negative light in the first place.

Well, in still shots, it was pretty obvious to me (before seeing the film). After seeing the film, I forgot all about it and just saw his performance.

To compare, I saw Joker the whole time watching Batman 1989.

Nicholson's performance didn't make me forget.

I agree to a certain extent that Bane's mask is a little "Sub-Zero-ey" as you called it, but I honestly think we won't even care by the time the movie is over.

When all is said and done, I can see people liking Bane more than Joker for completely different reasons.

If this is hokey, then I want more hokey.

I agree

Found the version so all is good thanks fellows. What is it that Bane's saying to Wayne in the cell, because the last part is not clear for me.

If people go to their torrent index site of choice, you should be able to find said trailer.

Although I'm going to have to say, "wtf did Bane say?". Could be cam-quality audio :/

I wonder why Bane wants to destroy Gotham City. Finishing Ra's al Ghul's job?

Orders from the League of Shadows? Or maybe he's just sick of what Gotham is, if Selina's dialogue in the trailer has any relation.

Also, could I have a pm for the 1080 trailer too, please? Thanks.

edit: Thanks!

What is that huge well? We see someone climbing out of it in the teaser (bane?) now we have people just repelling down. I am very curious if the overall goal is the to resurrect Ra's in the Lazerous Pit if Bane is in the League of Shadows.

The well imagery reminded me of the one that Bruce fell into underneath Wayne Manor when he was a kid (which connects to the batcave).

That would certainly be interesting, if Nolan added the Lazerous Pit in his Batman universe. I always saw his style on trying to keep it as possibly real than more to the fiction, with what he has done with the characters and world. I wouldn't object to seeing the pit though.

Sent, I'm going to let someone else take the Cowl for the others in need now.

Cheers.

I guess now the question is, why Gotham? Unless they are just going with the idea that the Batman persona has a tendency to attract attention from the deranged.

Well, one of the reasons why I always loved about Batman is that Batman/Gotham City does attract the attention of others that are "insane". It's why Arkham City did a damn good job explaining that with Paul Dini's work with the story. You never get a richer world like Gotham City than in any other comic fiction.
