Not true. It's in front of MI4's playing in non 70mm IMAX.

I guess colorado doesn't have any 70mm IMAX theatres anymore. The one place I always go for movies, they said the converted to digital IMAX this year.

Is there a big difference between 70mm and digital??

We do have a 70mm screen at our Nature and Science Museum but they only play wildlife imax features.

I guess thats why its not listed here alos:

....this sucks

He still forced him to make the decision to let Rachel die. I also don't see how it takes away from the suspense that way. Everyone was expecting batman to save Rachel only to realise that he was going for Dent.

Maybe you're right but i don't think the way i see it ruins the scene or anything.

Thankyou for your contribution, would read again.

Edit:Like i said i haven't watched the movie for over a year and i'm probably remembering things wrong. Still can't hurt discussing it.

It matters because we see that his decision to make a choice based off of Bruce Waynes feelings instead of what Batman should do, hurts him and Gotham in the end. I like it because it ties into Begins when Alfred warned him that he has to be full on Batman and not make personal decisions.

Again, I love this thread.

I'm totally cool with not understanding all of what Bane says as long as he doesn't have long dialouge scenes through out the movie. I think the voice is pretty bad ass.

In case anyone forgot, Hans Zimmer still needs needs people to contribute to the chant:
Zimmer said the original chant that was used for the big Bane reveal was made with just a few of his closest friends, so he has very high hopes for what has been sent in from fans already. "It's nice to have the whole world join in on a chant. My only problem is that they're so well-behaved on the chanting right now," he said. "If anybody goes onto UJAM right now, I need a little bit more. If you want to be heard, get a little louder, get a little more aggressive," he encouraged.

That was fucking doooooooooope. Easily the best trailer in this franchise. My only two complaints are the football scene which looks like something from another movie entirely, and I still don't like Bane's look and couldn't understand what the fuck he was saying.

LOVED Alfred seemingly breaking down when talking to Bruce, the arc of Gordon being put out to pasture, Bruce and Selina's dance and how sinister she comes off, Bruce in the prison (?), the fighting in the snow, and a whole batch of really awesome shots (looks like Pfister might outdo himself here).

Officially on board the DKR hype train!

I wonder how much of the business this weekend the trailer and prologue are gonna be responsible for on these films.

I remember buying a ticket for "The Siege" to see the Episode 1 trailer. (hey, you didn't know it was gonna suck back then either, don't judge me!)

Anyway, I was at a matinee and the theater was full. As soon as the trailer ended, more than 2/3s the theater left.

you have no proof that i ever said that!

The quote is proof! You are now a victim of your own hyperbole.

I don't think it's the same. MI and Sherlock are sequels that performed hugely in previous installations and have fanbases. The trailer/prologue could give each a bump, but it won't be what makes the weekend for either film.

I don't know about the trailer, but the Deadline posted this about the prologue.

One bright spot is the new Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol which had the best major release per screen average of $28K today helped by its higher IMAX ticket prices. It also opened with a huge $1.1 million playing on just 425 screens in 425 locations from Thursday evening through midnight shows goosed by none other than Warner Bros’ 6-minute The Dark Knight Rises preview in giant screen 70mm IMAX theaters. (As reference, M:I3 did $1.1M of midnight business on over 2,000 screens. “This is a great start,” a Paramount exec gushed. ”It’s a pretty compelling package.”) Paramount tells me that, given how strong early sales were for midnight shows, IMAX asked to open Thursday evening to get the word of mouth started. Since Sherlock wasn’t booked into IMAX, Warner Bros couldn’t pair its ‘Batman 3′ prologue with its own product and lost a valuable marketing opportunity which went instead to Paramount on a silver platter. To say that Warner Bros was annoyed is an understatement. But I hear there is a Dark Knight Rises teaser playing with Sherlock 2.

You jokers really want to be terribly wrong about Bane, don't you? :>

Not really. The problems with Bane are visual (and thats not going to change as its not performance based) and his incomprehensible voice (which they can fix). So while Hardy's performance will hopefully be awesome and they will fix his voice in post, he's still going to wear that Sub-Zero mask all movie.

Goddamn now I need to see the trailer again. HD version coming Monday?

If the performance and the writing are effective enough, as well as the fashion in which Bane is shot, then the mask will either "disappear" and you won't even notice it anymore through the course of the movie, or it will ultimately feel more sinister since it's attached to a dude who says and does fucked up things.

Right now you're largely seeing this stuff out of context. Personally I don't mind the mask, either way, but I don't think it will be significant to how Bane is received. If he snaps Batman in half nobody is going to care what he's wearing. :P

I am far more bothered by his comically generic Eastern European bad guy accent than any of the clarity stuff. I understand that's part of the character, but it's, well, cliched.

I can imagine a movie with BATMAN VOICE and BANE VOICE could get pretty exhausting.

I don't want the prologue, but is one of the 1080p links for the trailer? If so, I'd appreciate being thrown a link.

I LOVE that shot of Gordon on the roof which is pure black on blue.

I couldn't really make out what he really sounds like but I only saw the original dire bootleg. Will be interesting to see how it comes out. With ADR it could end up sounding a bit different.

I 100% agree.

The makeup on Ledger's Joker "disappeared" for me like that because of how engaging a performance it was. In fact, there was no real explanation of the makeup given (I know he had his "explanations" of the scars) and that didn't matter to me either.

Yeah, the bolded is key.

Even though we think we know a lot about the movie via the trailer footage, we probably don't know much at all. I remember thinking I knew a lot about what TDK was gonna be about and I didn't know anything close in the end.

In the Prologue, Bane
vaguely addresses the necessity of the mask
making it that much more
"invisible" over time.

The difference here is that the Joker looked fucking awesome and Bane looks kinda hokey. Joker's makeup didn't need to "disappear" because it never stood out in a negative light in the first place.
