Ahh, so it's probably a matter of some of the animations being missing, with most of them being left intact then. One of the best thing about MvsC3's visuals was how lively those backgrounds were and that trailer looked good enough to me!
Not sure if they are as good as the console version, but they are what you see in that trailer -- definitely some animation going on.
The background in UMvC3 looks great, I'm more concerned about Blazblue. Weren't the backgrounds in console versions hand-drawn as well? From the clips it looks like Blazblue switched them for ugly 3D models.
was an in development build, retail copies are fully animatedI thought that the Vita version of UMvsC3 had static (non animated) backgrounds? If that's not true then that's great!

Not surprising. Happens to all games in Japan (FF13-2 had used copies on the day of release!)
Rentals are illegal in Japan, so many people buy a game, plow through it and dump it as quickly as possible to get most of the cost of the game back (effectively using the new release as a rental)
So no VITA numbers tonight by famitsu?
What? If I'm not mistaken half of what Tsutaya is doing is renting games/cds/anime etc.Rentals are illegal in Japan, so many people buy a game, plow through it and dump it as quickly as possible to get most of the cost of the game back (effectively using the new release as a rental)
I wish the screen wouldn't switch off even if you are playing a game. The first time I was watching a cutscene in katamari the screen cut out and I thought the vita was dead. Didn't even go dim first, just switched off.
What? If I'm not mistaken half of what Tsutaya is doing is renting games/cds/anime etc.
So it seems like the Vita is fucking up the contrast and colors of the PSP pretty hard, isn't it? I still think the PSP games are optimized for the PSP screen, so the devs choose their colors etc. with that in mind. It looks completly different on the Vita Screen.
What? If I'm not mistaken half of what Tsutaya is doing is renting games/cds/anime etc.
Preview from Famitsu:
VITA Wifi: 3
VITA 3g: Dcharlie
You can enable PSP color space on the vita options, if you prefer the original colors.
The GEO store in my wife's home town of Toyo-oka rents games no problem...

Actually i think i spoke too soon... wife says i'm confused cause they have labels in the cases of out of stock games.. like a rental store would for 'on loan'. Doh!
PS Vita browser test: http://www.roshi.tv/2011/12/psvitano.html
Not great, it barely supports html5.
Thats a lost opportunity for Sony. I don't think it would be very difficult to support at least a video or audio tag. And of course, no webgl support.

I am really dissapointed.
I don't think they are going to fix this.

(Tokyo Stock Exchange: 4813), a global provider of mobile content delivery and
access technologies, today announced that its new NetFront v3.1 Software
Development Kit (SDK) for Linux is available for free download from ACCESS'
web site (http://www.access.co.jp/English ). The Qtopia/Qt/Embedded package is
available today, and the GTK package will follow in early January. Both trial
versions bundle the evaluation version of the MontaVista(R) Linux(R)
Professional Edition 3.0 and MontaVista Graphics from MontaVista Software,
Inc. as well as Qt/Embedded and Qtopia from Trolltech A/S, enabling NetFront
as an executable immediately after downloading on these environments.
NetFront v3.1 SDK for Linux is the newly available software development

Ah, right, I thought I saw a circle in their store locator in "rental" and "games", but it's just all the other stuff. My mistake, sorry.I've never seen a Tsutaya with games up for rental. =0
I think the 100% brightness + all possible features on and in game would be the best to stress test the hell of that battery and know what's the shortest time we can expect. Also, I think I will be able to do a full-to-death battery test tonight, how does GAF say I should do it? Stock brightness (which is about 80%)? 50% brightness? Headphones or speakers? PS Vita game on gamecard, I would assume? Network on or off?
Only very few parts of the background move. In that trailer, the Servbots in one level and the large cruise ship in another are totally frozen, killing all the frantic liveliness of those stages. It just looks eerie. Not sure if they are as good as the console version, but they are what you see in that trailer -- definitely some animation going on.
Oh come on, if you have time to look at the backgrounds, you're fighting with too weak enemies!Only very few parts of the background move. Launch software woes :-(
32 pages of vita talk, the browser gets mentioned and jeff_rigby is on the case lol.
What's up with your fasination and knowledge on the psp/vita's webkits ?
Well, to be honest, I mostly just play on the Danger Room stageOh come on, if you have time to look at the backgrounds, you're fighting with too weak enemies!
What does this means.?
good news guys!
i had a dream the vita had the biggest japanese launch ever.

Also, after a completely glitch-free couple of days, I had some whoppers today -- Near froze, so I thought I should restart my system -- turned it off and it wouldn't turn back on. Didn't know about holding the power button for 20+ seconds, so I just waited 5 minutes and tried it again and it worked >.>
Also at one point, trophies app wouldn't load at all.
Everything is going well now though...
Just out of interest, has anyone tried the online modes in Minna no Golf yet? Interested to know how it works. All I know is that the PS3 lobbies are in the Vita version and there's some sort of offline mode where you upload your score at the end for a tournament.
I've never owned PSP. Any PSP games recommendation I should try? I'm thinking of getting Yakuza PSP.
I'm waiting for Vita FW 2.40 tbh. This thing better be running OS ver. 2.0 by February. Cause I'm having nonna dis'.
