It appears you were correct about FIFA. Saw this on the US Playstation blog...

I don't really know what that means. "in the future" ... In the future with a patch to FIFA or in the future with some other title?

it is not the same game, so you certainly wont get it unless they actually do simple port from consoles to vita.

Picked up a case yesterday. Went for the ¥1800 case that clips to the bottom of the vita. Has padding to protect the analogue sticks, which is one reason I didn't go for the basic pouch. Quite bulky in that config though.

Was tempted with the ¥4000 leather case but will wait and see what third party options come out later

Is the leather case the only one that includes a wrist strap?

Looking forward to wipeout at UK launch (will download to have it always available), and motorstorm RC. Will probably double dip on hotshots golf to have an English language version downloaded.

Swaying towards sticking with my US psn account and using psn cards for purchases. Not ideal but I don't think I'll download that much, and I'll buy retail in the UK for easy trading in.

Just wish Sony would let me change my us psn account to a UK one.

No. Of the official ones, there is also a big fat zip-up case that had a wrist strap. Can carry the vita, memory cards (2 I think) and the ac adapter. Also comes with a cloth for wiping the screen

And of course you then have third party ones.

PSVita.wmv - YouTube

In the vita video about at around 5:30 the guy talks about trophies. He earned some whilst on the vita and made sure he synced them. When he goes to see his gamer card and trophy list on the PS3 it is not visible.

WTF Sony?

I wonder if Vita is intentionally being held back by Sony like the PSP was, possibly to conserve battery or to encourage optimization. Games were locked to 222MHz on PSP for a very long time, the ability to up the clockspeed wasn't added until around the time God of War came out.

i got the black leather case - it's really nice.

What kind of job do you have?

a stressful one that i wouldn't wish on my worst enemy

missing some games and there's NO WAY that Dark Quest should be troubling a number higher than 6.

Outside of the load times, it's really fun with friends. I don't think it's groundbreaking but fun.

I got the black leather case too (didn't notice how much the blue thread stands out before I saw the case in person, it's really purdy) and it is quite sturdy. Good stuff. Appreciate the wrist strap too, lots of playing on trains etc.

Those scores look par-for-the-course for Famitsu. So many 8s in the magazine.

Also, these looks more legit than the last fake ones, if not simply because the score for LoA is the same as the PSP score.

Here's what i expect :

Power Smash 4 (PSV) – 8/8/8/7
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (PSV) – 8/8/8/9
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend (PSV) – 8/7/7/8
Everybody’s Golf 6 (PSV) – 9/9/9/8
Lord of Apocalypse (PSV) – 9/9/8/8
Dynasty Warriors Next (PSV) – 8/7/7/7
Army Cops of Hell (PSV) – 8/7/6/6
Dark Quest Alliance (PSV) – 6/6/6/5
Touch My Katamari (PSV) – 8/7/8/7
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (PSV) – 9/8/7/7
Shinobido 2 (PSV) – 6/7/7/7
F1 2011 (PSV) – 5/6/6/5
Asphalt: Injection (PSV) – 5/5/6/5
Michael Jackson The Experience HD (PSV) – 7/7/6/6

Adding in missing :
Dream Club 0 - 7/7/7/8
Monster Radar - 7/5/5/4
Mahjong fight club - 7/6/5/5
Fish on - 6/5/5/5
Ridge Racer - 7/6/6/6
Disgaea 3 - 7/7/7/5
TExtygamewhosenameifortget - 9/9/8/7

Disgaea 3 PS3 version got 8/8/8/8 in Famitsu, so I don't think it will score less.

different reviewers , passage of time, etc.

Lord of A is a little less likely as it's only a week after the PSP but .... i suspect even that may dock a point or so.

Famitsu - law until themselves.

How does it attach to the inside? The one I boought lets you dangle the case below the vita with it still attached, so you can access the rear panel. Is that the same? And indents for the sticks?

Indents for the sticks -- yes.

You have to take the Vita all the way out to use it though, no attachments or anything like that -- strictly a carrying case.

Why? From the demo seems like a decent hack&slash

i've not put too much time into it yet but it seems incredibly bog standard and i couldn't imagine the reviewers treating it kindly

Are vita trophies only for the vita platform, or are trophies tied to a global PSN acct? (ie can I see vita trophies on Sony's site / gamer card?)

The reverse is confirmed, you can see PS3 trophies through the Trophy App on Vita. Someone was saying you can't see Vita trophies on the PS3 (I don't remember who). No idea about the web site, but Sony doesn't try very hard on there so I would doubt it.

Edit: to answer your first question, they are tied to whatever PSN account you register when you load up the Vita the first time.

Maybe I missed it but first English Shinobido 2 trailer.
Set for 2/22/12

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/12/19/first-video-shinobido-2-revenge-of-zen-for-ps-vita/

The only thing decent is the music from that trailer. What they showed looked terribad.

Don't know if anyone's looking for one in Tokyo but while several shops have the 3G model I've only seen the wifi one @ sofmap main shop in akihabara. So tempting....

Questions:

We can't currently get to the US store obviously, but can we hook up a US PSN account and play the games and earn trophies as normal?

Are saves/trophies tied to saves or downloads? So if I hooked up my JP PSN account, downloaded a game, reformatted and then tried to play said game on my US account would I be able to earn trophies?

I read that docomo will unlock any of their handsets for a small (3150) fee. Anyone know if that's the case also with vita?

I just factory reset and out my usual (US) psn details in. Now uncharted and mingol are saying i can't earn trophies. What do i need to do to fix this? I thought the reset thing was only on different hardware, but its different psn accounts too?

Anyone received their Vita from Play-Asia yet? Mine got sent yesterday, but hasn't left HK according to the tracking number from FedEx. However it's supposed to be delivered by December 23 so I guess I just have to be patient. I'm not a jedi unfortunately. It's my own fault for not ordering before last Friday, I was tempted in the last minute :-D

And now I regret not ordering some kind of pouch, any of these any good?

Jeeze that is fast which country are you in? According to Sony HK the PSP vita is released on the 23rd Dec.

Bah. Looked in settings/save data but it said I didn't have any? So formatted the memory card and lost my mingol update :/

You'll have to reset the cartridges as well, no? Or at least create new save files?

Has anyone heard if they're gonna cripple the online like they did the console version(s) of mingol? The US/EU versions share servers, which are almost completely dead; meanwhile the Japanese servers thrive. They made the PSP versions capable of choosing regional or "world" rooms... here's to hoping!

It's definitely ugly, but at the same time, the actual game is quite a appealing. The original Shinobido on PSP was infinitely worse looking yet still a very solid stealth action game. Now that you can see more than 2 meters in front of your character it should be more enjoyable.

Aquire typically fails to deliver on the visuals front, unfortunately, and this is no exception.
