Vita games keep dropping in price before launch in the USA:

http://www.gamestop.com/ps-vita

After all the Hot Shots talk that game is day one for me at $29.99. Hope 3rd party games drop to $29.99 as well. Army Corps is on my list.

yeah, what's the deal with pricing? Amazon also has a bunch of games at $30 (those gamestop ones, plus ridge racer and katamari).

I'm not complaining. I'd rather the standard price be $30 or less.

edit: $50 would suck. It already sucks that the 3DS has $50 games.

edit 2: wait, Uncharted is $50 on Amazon but $40 on Gamestop. I have no idea what's going on.

Uncharted is price at that on Amazon.

Amazon just discounted my Hot Shots Golf Vita preorder to $29.99. Strange indeed. I'm not complaining if these are new MSRP but I hope content isn't being cut.

It makes that $30 Ridge Racer look silly now.

After spending some time with UMvC3 Vita I have only one question for the QA department - ARE YOU BLIND?
Seriously. the 3D models are beautiful, they look better than the PS3 version and I can't say a bad thing about them. BUT. The damn 2D objects like text look like they've been terribly upscaled. They're jagged and simply ugly. I don't get it...
Looks good, i'm so hyped for this game :)
I'd be too if I hadn't played the demo already. The whole thing lacks attention to detail and is looking pretty barren at the moment.

Edit:
Looks like you can download the first batch of free Corps of Hell DLC from the PS Store. This time it's pumpkin goblins.

That's unfortunate considering BB's text and art assets looks great. =/ How's the online?

Couldn't find anyone in both player and ranked matches yet... Maybe not a lot of people is playing yet, plus it's school/work time.

Werd. Definitely post when about it when you get the chance to try it out. I was considering grabbing a copy tomorrow since work is out for Mr. Emperor.

Was playing Vita on the train on the way to work. Killed a boss in LoA, during the cutscene after I put my Vita to sleep pressing the power button on the top. No idea what the battery life was at, but I didn't get the warning. Put it in the leather case and tossed it in my bag.

After work, pull the Vita out ready for some action, but it won't turn on. I get home, plug my Vita in, and the charge light turns orange like it is charging, but it is flashing. After a minute or two I tried to power it on but there is a battery with a cross through it flashing like crazy on the screen.

No idea how or why my battery died, and hopefully this thing will take a charge and power on again shortly. Ugh.

Edit: Holding the power button for like 10 seconds made the battery image flashing on the screen go away. I'm assuming that once the orange charge light stops flashing it will be ready to turn on? No idea how it got so drained, must have still been going when I put it in the case somehow? >.>

Edit 2: Yes, light went solid orange after about 5-10 minutes, and it turned on.

Ouch, hope it's ok...
Want to play some MvC3 sometime?
How IS LoA?
Fun! I'm in chapter 5, finished all quests until now (got the S rank in most of them). One thing that could be better is the variety of enemies/zones in one chapters, but I guess it can't be helped in this kind of game. Still, the fights are quicker than in MonHans and I really like it.

Yeah, they're moving a bit. Still, I really can't really see how anyone would pay any attention to this kind of thing in a game as fast as MVC3...

How many PSP games do you plan to go back and revisit? Wondering whether to just catch up with games like patapon (all worth playing?) that should scale nicely and not look ancient, or are there others I should look at? Is there a 'best of' thread?

Could anyone recommend some Japanese Launch titles for an English Speaker please? I'd prefer those that are a bit easier to navigate around.

So far I have ordered:

Uncharted
Hot Shots Golf
Ridge Racer

I have those plus katamari. Katamari is very text heavy but I think you can safely ignore it and just enjoy playing the levels. Army of hell could be an option too, I'm curious about it from dcharlie's comments

Army Corps any good? I heard that it was by some Pikmin staff or something, and that was probably the wild card game on my short list of games to buy at Vita's launch.

I can't wait to play Patapon on that screen. The first is amazing, haven't played the others (I'll pick them up when I get a Vita though).

http://andriasang.com/comzh2/vita_attach_rate/

Media Create reports today that PlayStation Vita's twenty launch titles combined for 300,000 unit sales in the system's first week of release (covering, in Vita's case, just the 17th and 18th).

The system sold around 325,000 units. This gives it an attach rate (number of games purchased per system) of 0.92. While this is lower than the 0.95 first week attach rate of the 3DS and the 1.06 first week attach rate of PSP, Media Create notes that the Vita has a download sales environment in place, and taking this into account it's likely that the actual attach rate is close to the other platforms.

They need to find a way to track DD sales. The curiosity is killing me. Is it a few hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands? I need to know where Japan is headed.

well if it'd been a glass shoe...

i get gkryhewy's point - the only game i've really played so far with extensive touching has been Jackson Experience. Whilst it felt fine, it doesn't have the nice feel of the iphone or ipad.

In an ideal world it would be glass - it's good to aim higher/demand better no matter how good/bad a product is.

Feck it... No glass? Sigh...

no less than 5%, no more than 10% is probably a safe guess... we had some numbers from Japan before and it was in line with that (dont remember what game exactly). Since PSPGo was an failure, i doubt suddenly Japanese will start buying PSN games in larger quantities.

WTF they raised the price to Uncharted Golden Abyss!

$49.99! APOCALYPTIC SCENARIO

Good thing I preordered when it was at 39.99!
lol

Thanks but no thanks.

It's what I was expecting. But 32gigers & 16gigers selling out caught me by surprise, especially in a territory as resistant to DD as Japan.

(Another possible scenario is that Sony basically under-shipped those sticks)

Damn, you scared me! Seriously, reading that post was like reading a mini thriller novel. Glad everything worked out in the end.

Did your game save its state after the power loss? Didn't the PSPgo have some sort of advanced suspend feature where it would write the current state to memory so that it would take you back to where you left off afterward?

Cool! Glad you both seem to be enjoying it. I was kind of hesitant but...

Also, if I grab UMVC3, we should swap PSN names! =0
Sure thing, my Jp. PSN id is Niiro-Matsuki.

As for Famitsu scores (I don't know if those has been posted already):
BlazeBlue - 9/9/8/8
UMvC3 - 8/8/7/8
Dynasty Warriors - 9/9/9/8
F1 2011 - 8/7/7/6
Asfalt - 7/7/7/7
Army Corps - 8/8/8/8
LoA - 9/9/8/8
Shinobido 2 - 8/8/8/7
Power Smash 4 - 9/9/9/8
Uncharted - 9/9/8/9
Minna no Golf 6 - 9/9/8/8
That criminal-adventure game - 9/9/9/8
Katamari - 8/9/7/8
Dark Quest - 8/8/8/8
Jackson - 7/7/6/7

Edit:
Oh come on, Japanese people. Seriously no one is playing UMVC3 Vita online? Seriously? :|

maybe this is a stupid question
I'm at work with my Vita
Havent created a Japanese PSN account yet
can this be done easily on the Vita, or should I wait until I get home and do it on my PS3?

Anyone got a list of demos etc that are available presently?

bought one just now from ncsx, $750 for the vita 4GB card and uncharted. I'm pumped but my wallet is aching. Should be here in a day or two since ncsx is based pretty close.

Are you in the States? That seems awfully high...with UPS express shipping from Hong Kong, I paid about $720 for the Vita, 8GB card, Uncharted, and Marvel.

We only received numbers once, and that's when ATLUS said Persona 3 Portable did 10k on PSN, while the UMD version did 90k.

This is interesting because I've had no problem finding ranking matches on BB. It might just be a low attach rate. =/

The Vita version of UMvC3 didn't make Media Create's top 50.

You can do it on your Vita and because of the touch screen it'll be easier this way.

As for demos, you can download:
AR COMBAT (I think it's a freemium game)
極限脱出善人シボウデス
Little Deviants
真かまいたちの夜
Dynasty Warriors Next
Power Smash 4
Ridge Racer

Lord of Apocalypse players, the password campaign has started. You enter the passwords in the main menu and get new quests.
The first is 4Gamer. If someone finds the one from VJump, post it here please.

@the UMVC3 situation - this sucks. I bought a bomba game. :(

Can someone answer this question please?

According to someone on twitter, you can avoid resetting the vita by having three memory cards and using one as a dummy. This apparently allows you to avoid resetting the vita all the time you want to switch accounts. Has anyone tried this?

How does this stop you requiring to reset?
