Playing games is much nicer that writing reviews about them. When I have time, I will make a short review later on. My level in Minna no Golf is amateur, so I don't know how hard it will become, and it's my first Minna no Golf game, so my impressions will be from a newbie perspective.

The device is solid and I expect it to be a success once people get to play with it in their homes. I will eat my hat if this doesn't happen. Vita is too good of a device to bomb in the west.

Ridge Racer's touch UI is absolutely breath taking. I really hope good things will come out of the delay. Some engine optimizations and inclusion of DLCs will definitely push me into buying it.

Hey guys

Anyone imported from Japan to Australia?

Reason I ask this, is having some troubles getting the unit past customs
Trying dhl company what sort of battery info do you need to let them know so if can be shipped properly?

Thanks

Josh

Bunch of new Ragnarok Odyssey trailers.

Bwhahahahaa...aaa. 3 only? You are so out of the loop these days, it has a fourth one in another dimension. True 4D portable.

I will finally get a good Beyblade game...

For anyone looking to import, I'd recommend getting the Hong Kong value pack.

Managed to sang

-Vita Wifi
-Accessory Pack (Protective Flim, Case, 4GB Memory Stick)
-Uncharted & UMVC3

all for 620 SGD (~487 USD). Much cheaper than if you were to import the JPN set from Playasia i think.

Where can you import this value pack?

I figured out at least part of my Minna no Golf woes. I didn't know that you could press Square button to switch to a power shot. Especially with Tank unlocked it helps a lot, now I can pull off 280 yards easily and got 330 once with a nice roll. Also I finally figured out that d-pad is what makes the spin shots, although I found the online manual (it appears on the little start screen at the top) and I am baffled at the way you do a ultra spin shot thing, you actually have to move the Vita up and then shake it to the right when you swing. I haven't done it yet but it seems kind of silly to have to do motion while you are taking a swing.

it is the only good thing about ridge racer vita, and even then it's not really a good thing because it's utterly incomprehensible. it's the menu screen equivalent of metal gear solid 4 - i'm sort of glad it exists in spite of it being terrible.

oh actually another good thing about RR is the free type 4 soundtrack DLC! that made me like the game a bit more.

Also the Toro Station thing is great, I wonder if they will do this thing in other countries (I kind of doubt it ... but still .. the interviews are actually kind of interesting, this week is BlazBlue and creator talks about what they are focusing on and stuff)

Sony is playing a delicate game of still supporting its highly profitable and well selling PSP business in Japan while trying to usher in Vita. PSP is still getting tons of commercials on TV and attention in magazines. I doubt it was ever the intention to thwack 3DS, that's PSP's job and it's pretty much winning as far as I can tell (From high tie-ratio, publisher friendly perspective...whereas 3DS is very much 1st party software driven)

The only thing profitable about Vita is probably the memory card...the release calendar for PSP in 2012 is still utter bananas, probably larger than 3DS and Vita combined??? There is only 1 Wii game on the horizon and less 3DS than Vita/PSP combined, Vita almost feels like PSP HD when you use it because you go into the PSN shop and see tons of new PSP releases and basically familiar to any PSP user.

So from Japan perspective, I think Vita is in very nice position, making early adopters happy and those who aren't early adopters seem to be content with playing PSP for some longer. All Sony has to do is drop Monster Hunter 4 on Vita and they will basically have Japan tied up. The rest of the world is completely different story, unfortunately for Sony much tougher battles to be fought and new mobile technologies will be appearing sooner or later (iPad 3, Google super tablet, Windows 8 tablets)

619+126 like Italy and it's US dollars. Play-asia is cheaper I think the wifi JP unit now cost 355 euros yesterday the price was 398 euros.

Does anyone know if the Gravity Daze demo is supposed to be the same thing they let us play during the Vita campaign event here in Japan?

Ah a couple of shops in Singapore brought a very limited no of sets in. They are not covered by any sort of warranty though - Since it is not an official local release.

I was quite pleasantly surprised by the price though. I actually budgeted for about 60 USD more than what I spent

Any PSP Vita users noticing this? After you leave the system to auto sleep. When waking the system up again (with the power button) there's a slight lag for the screen to be on?

I think I'll get at Europan launch:
-Vita Wifi (+headphones thanks to preorder in Game)
-16GB memory
-WipEout 2048
-Uncharted
-Lumines or Ridge Racer depending on prices and final content

I have a question: do we have specs or comparatives Vita memory cards vs others (SDHC Class 10 UHS-I I think, that are supposed to be way cheaper and faster)

Guerilla fix that shit! (gifs spam incoming)

Put 25 hours into it and I think it's worth it even without the online mode.

I finally went ahead and downloaded LoA a few hours ago. Been chugging at it for a bit and it's a lot of fun! While it's clear it was designed for the PSP, I like how clean it looks on the Vita.

I also like that it seems to actually have a story. Haha.
