Just bought all of W40k Dawn of War and the first of Dawn of War 2.

For all the people wanting to buy the first Dawn of War get the Platinum Edition, it has the Gold edition and the Dark Crusade. The Dailies only list Gold, DC and Soulstorm on the daily page.
Gold edition is 6,79€ + DC 2,37€ , but the Platinum is 3,39€. So Platinum with Soulstorm is cheaper than the Gold Edition.

Is the original Sands of Time trilogy still worth a play today? I never really got the chance to play them before, but I always heard good things from friends.

I can't give specifics, but...

In the first ninety-six minutes of this sale I made more money than the previous thirty days combined

It's, like, raining platinum or some shit

Ok, thanks! I really liked Bloody Good Time (despite its short lifespan) so I might bite.

Oh, you've played BGT so you've got a good idea of what it's like. They are very similar games, but The Ship has much less emphasis on guns and relies more on melee weapons and disguises and sneaking around to get your target. There are also more needs you have to fulfill than in BGT so there's a bit more strategy to the game then just getting the best weapon, killing your target and eating/sleeping/going to the bathroom in between rounds.

edit: Anyone seriously interested in playing The Ship would do well to join this group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/shipalive

They have scheduled events a couple times a week, and according to the admin their server has been pretty full lately.

Is KOTOR worth it?

It was well worth the $50 when it released. Absolute steal at $2.50 if you like Star Wars/RPGs at all.

On the note of star wars, a friend just gifted me the Jedi Knight collection. Always wanted to play them but never actually have. What am I in for?

I had a really hard time getting into all three of them. Terrible camera control and bad combat mechanics were hurting the good platforming.
POP 2008 and Forgotten Sands play much better IMHO. I know I will be called a heretic for saying so, but that's my experience.

Awesome! I guess that shows that the business model of "sell many cheap copies" works better than "sell 50 expensive copies".

After hours of donwloading, installing, downloading patches, creating an account and spending more more than 1 hour in Rusty Hearts all I got was a 10% discount on valve games....

Never again.

If I buy something as a gift, can I unpack it for myself later? I'm trying to buy two things(One gift, one for me) basically to sum it up.

I have a DOTA 2 Hardware Survey, 50% off valve games and 50% off Kings Bounty Platinum coupons. If anyone wants any of these make me an offer PM me.

I remember that lecture of Gabe at a college talking about when you heavily discount a game, and highlight you can see sales increased of a thousand times in some cases. Craziness.

I think it helps further that this whole coal game is happening, people are gripped by what the deals are, and what they can get out of them beyond the product itself.

You really have to hand it Gabe and Valve as a whole. They know how to brew the perfect sale storm. The best part is that it really seems like it ends up helping everyone.

It's brilliantly handled. I think there's plenty of room for improvement, but this is already a big step up from the potato sack, it's only fair to assume they're going to perfect their craft in terms of these sales over the coming years.

Yes. This sale is definitely the way to go. Looking forward for the little polishing they'll surely do on the next big sale.

Hey guys,

I'm looking to pick up the Warhammer DoW 2 games just to play the co-op campaign with a friend. I'm not really one for RTS games, but my understanding is that this is maybe more action-rpg'ish, unless I'm wrong. If anyone else here has done the co-op campaign with a friend, any impressions would be much appreciated. Thanks!
