I seriously don't understand why they are still burying McIntyre for the behavior of his wife who hasn't worked for the company in over a year. He's one of the best wrestlers in the company, can work the microphone, and is a solid hand.

Just fucking release the guy already and let him go do something else if you're going to constantly fuck with him.

But oh yeah. Be A Star!

Kinda sounds like you're describing Morrison, sans the mic skills.

Due to an injury he sustained at SmackDown in Indianapolis, Randy Orton will be replaced by Sheamus in scheduled Street Fights against Wade Barrett at WWE live events this week.

Check back with WWE.com for more updates on Orton’s condition
.

Good match from Magnum Pro, some shitty indy in Iowa;

Zack Sabre Jr. vs Akira Tozawa

Some real good wrestling there from two of my favourites, pity the crowd's so awful.

Orton has stepped his game up since being in purgatory with Christian. My only problem is that I find Barret extremely boring in-ring.

What bugs me about Barrett is that he's supposedly a "bare knuckle boxing champion", yet last week he could barely defend himself against Randy Orton's super telegraphed punches, and when he tried to throw a punch of his own Orton blocked and countered with no trouble whatsoever. Barrett isn't the most exciting in the ring, for sure, but I'd like to see them build up the idea of his boxing skills being a real threat.

KAORI YONEYAMA RETIREMENT MATCH;

07. Kaori Yoneyama vs Kayoko Haruyama

Good end of year show from JWP, unfortunately pretty much every match is clipped except for the Mito/Katsu match on the undercard and the semi & main events. Hailey Hatred defends her JWP Openweight Title in a good match against Tsubasa Kuragaki, while Kaori Yoneyama competes in her final JWP match against Kayoko Haruyama. Also, in what I'm pretty sure is a first in wrestling, during the post-match 10 bell salute after Yoneyama's retirement ceremony
Kaori breaks down in tears and says she doesn't want to retire. Emi Sakura is pissed, as are some of the fans and JWP had to offer refunds. Shortest retirement ever?

I actually haven't payed any attention to Barret until recently. I stopped watching WWE after the HBK retirement Raw, and started watching the day The Rock returned. Was he better during the feud with Cena? He's not the worst wrestler, but I agree that he needs to improve so others can take him seriously.

I think as a performer he's fine. Booking hasn't been his friend (buried in the Nexus run and with Cena) and his finisher is rather bleh.

. Best Match - Keiji Mutoh & Kenta Kobashi vs Takashi Iizuka & Toru Yano (All Together)
. Most Valuable Player - Hiroshi Tanahashi (NJPW)
. Best Tag Team - Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi (BJW)
. Outstanding Performance - Jun Akiyama (NOAH)
. Fighting Spirit Award - Yuji Nagata (NJPW)
. Technique Award - KENTA (NOAH)
. Rookie of the Year - Shinichi Suzukawa (IGF)
. Joshi Puroresu MVP - Yuzuki Aikawa (STARDOM)

Good for Sekimoto & Okabayashi, they've had a fantastic year in both BJW & AJPW, really deserve it, although Bad Intentions (Karl Anderson & Giant Bernard) would be a close second. The match of the year isn't surprising, given the spectacle of Mutoh & Kobashi teaming together on such a grand stage, but the match itself certainly wasn't the best match of the year in my book. Suwama/Akiyama for me.

Tokyo Sports top 10 events in Japanese wrestling for 2011;

03. Jun Akiyama, now a NOAH regular, wins the AJPW Triple Crown 19 years after making his debut for All Japan.
04. IGF & Dream co-promoting a New Years Eve show.
05. Daichi Hashimoto, son of the late great Shinya Hashimoto, makes his debut for ZERO1 against Masahiro Chono.
06. Takashi Sugiura sets a new record of 14 defences for NOAH's GHC Heavyweight Title.
07. Yuji Nagata becomes the first wrestler to win both the AJPW Champion's Carnival and the NJPW New Japan Cup in the same year.
08. Nobukazu Hirai (Super HATE) is attacked backstage by TARU and as a result suffers a stroke and falls into a coma. In the ensuing scandal, Keiji Mutoh resigns as president of All Japan.
09. Japanese wrestling legend Umanosuke Ueda dies from respiratory failure at the age of 71.
10. Yuzuki Aikawa is the Tokyo Sports Joshi MVP of 2011;

Oh my. That ain't PG.

So regarding Randy Orton...
He suffered a back injury at the smackdown tapings itself? for the sake of Barrett I hope the injury didn't have anything to do with him botching or else STUPID STUPID! this time with reason!
On the other hand is there still an outside chance this is an elaborate work? I mean SD does end with him apparently lobbed down some stairs, seems like the setup for a kayfabe injury. Though I assume from more recent reports its legit which is a shame.

So 2011 is almost over, let's reflect on title reigns everyone already forgot about:

Rey Mysterio as WWE Champ
Christian as World Heavyweight Champ x2
Dolph Ziggler as World Heavyweight Champ
Ezekiel Jackson as Intercontinental Champ
Sheamus as US Champ
John Cena and The Miz as Tag Champs
Big Show and Kane as Tag Champs

Who else will have a random, pointless reign in 2012? I'm pulling for a Brodus Clay + Mason Ryan tag reign.

Sheamus' reign wasn't pointless, it got him out of the rut he'd been in for months and ended a tiresome "losing streak" plot.

I remember all of these except for the last one. Then I remembered that one. Then I wished I hadn't. Boy oh boy, that was bad.

I forgot about that, Celtic King Sheamus and his losing streak, hard to imagine that happened right now since he's currently steamrolling through a random opponent each week, if anything he's currently on a winning streak gimmick.

I can't forget Kane and Show's tag team reign, after all that would mean forgetting Big Show having his leg crushed by ADR's car while Kane screams "SHOOOW!". And then they lost to the blooming McGillabuddies of all people, it's like their 2005 reign ending to the spirit squad but worse!

Oh and Rey's short reign is memorable to me for Cena abruptly ending it in a somewhat dick move.

So since the next PPV is now the Royal Rumble I figured I would bring it up. Are people wanting to do the GAF rumble like we did last year?

For those that don't know/weren't here for last years what happens is you get randomly assigned a number that corresponds to an entrant in the rumble. If that entrant wins then you win. It can make the Rumble more fun by giving you a bit more investment in it, you can also end up cheering someone you wouldn't normally.

Let's just get it out in the open, we stole it from SA.

And yes, let's do it.

This sounds awesome.

Sounds like fun. #1 and #30 might be kinda screwed though. I doubt they'd make the winner that obvious

I took it from a different board who I guess must have took it from there.

Last year we had well over the number of entrant so some people will probably end up sharing numbers. I dunno if there is something we can come up with as a prize for the winner(s).

The winner gets their face shopped over heavy's in that pic with kaitlyn, thus having their very own pic with kaitlyn.

WrassleGAF Rumble 2011! Yay! Didn't the winner get the right to name February's thread?

Ah.

I just knew SA did it because I know someone over there who kept getting shitty jobbers with his spot every year.

Could we ask Y2Kev politely to give the winner a tag?

Could it be my chance at finally getting a tag? So hyped!!

that also sounds like a good prize if we can't get the tag

Question; how do we go about randomly assigning numbers? Like, what's the process?

Last year I just took a note of everyone who wanted to be part of it, made it into seperate lists of 40 and put the lists into a site that randomized the order. Just to clarify for everyone, no one gets to pick their number. I had so many people saying "I'm in, I call being #25" etc.

They were meant to but it never happened. It'd be really cool if we could arrange for the winner to get a tag but I don't know how possible that would be.

Sounds like a barrel of laughs, whatever the winner gets it's probably better than opening WM with a title match that you lose like ADR.
