The general plot is generally the same, yeah; It's the explanations of mildly different concepts/takes that I enjoy, it can be seperated from the general plot quite easily in my eyes.
Some of the concepts like the "within a" stuff is really nonsensical though. It's like being creative, phrasing very obvious changes in structure. Sort of a pretentious push for their own medium. There is some good stuff in there but most of it is just stretched.
Maoyuu Maou Yuusha

Got to the end of the first chapter before realizing 80% of it didn't even register. I do not have the attention span for this at all :/
It becomes clearer as you read more chapters. If you have questions, ask them. At least a few of us are reading MMY. It becomes way more interesting once it registers.
Don't worry, the maou boobs are more important.
Useless meat.

Or so I hear.

It seemed to me like he was trying to ensure that Chihiro stayed far away from him and therefore far away from danger, and hurting her enough was the most convenient way to do it.

Yeah, except the problem is that he has to deal with Ayumi now and he always did so long as he didn't have to deal with Chihiro.

So I just finished watching the whole Death Note series. It's now one of my favorite if not my absolute favorite anime ever, the pace is just perfect, and the plot is fantastic (especially if you know the basics of psychology).I wonder what you guys think about it,and what would you recommend me to watch after this?

I'd recommend the anime thread, too. But they argue and bicker even more than we do, so there's that. Plus they'll recommend something with an incomprehensible plot.

I thought School Days was quite straight forward myself.

Depends what you're looking for, there's a ton of anime so I'd suggest you Try this thread and start from there, there's a better one out there., but my search skills are inadequate.

Yeah, it was sort of his way of being nice. No need to potentially make the other dudes think she has a goddess and make her a target.

He's still a bastard though.

You can say what you want but Shaft is probably the last good anime studio.
I watch pretty much everything by Shaft. I survived Denpa and Arakawa. I got engrossed with Despair, Soredemo, Bakemono, Arashi, and Maria Holic. And I can't wait for Nise. So yea, I'm not a shaft hater, just saying what is coming.

That is far from the truth .

Any way catching up on some other series .

Kimi Ni Todoke
Still slow , but some development on Chizuru and Ayane is always nice to see.

D.Gray-Man
Okay so far but moving slow , it's been long while but i really do miss this being weekly .

Rosario-Vampire II
Why am i still reading this series , guess it time for some fights and lets see what happens from there.

Claymore
Try to catch up but i just can't seem to care anymore.

Might try and catch up to others later .

Mirai Nikki and Kaiji (watch the anime for both).

Real Moka for me.

Outer Moka is deredere, but inner moka is tsuntsun, but then inner moka is ALSO fully tsundere.

It's a story about a demon with boobs inventing potatoes, guns and compasses. Not that hard to follow
We've got people in this thread who claim to not have the attention span to follow Onani Master Kurosawa (i.e. a 35 chapter series), so don't be surprised when anyone claims they can't follow things.

I don't know what life is anymore.

There is definitely a lot of name/place dropping in MMY. It's not that the concept is difficult. I think people just have a hard time digesting all the geography, groups, people, and wars. But as I said, if you keep reading it becomes clear. There is also not a ton of characters so there isn't much of an excuse to getting lost.

Buyuden (caught up)

This is the big one that I was waiting up on (about boxing, from author of MAJOR) to let the chapters pile up a little. Finally decided to jump in, and man.

Lemme just tell you it's probably the best itch I have ever had scratched. It felt so good that I can't stop smiling. It's super normal but that's exactly what I needed in my life. During the first chapter I felt all "oh mannnnnn Mitsuda I love you, you didn't disappoint"

I was missing this kind of manga so much. Ever since Major ended (or rather, ever since it started, because I really love the setup phases). And the MC is super fun (seriously I love that guy) and everything is super fun and it's all fun time fun fun. Moka is pretty much the best thing ever. I love her too.

In a nutshell: MAJOR, elementary school kids (which we'll probably see grow up), boxing. It is the majorest. The boxiest.

Hitman Reborn: A-

If it weren't for LUFFY, this would have been the best of the chapters I'd read this week. Still this chapter was fucking epic. From Colonello being a boss, to Iemetsu fucking Tsuna's life up, to HIBARI being a badass and setting up for what should be a very good fight, this chapter was all around fun.

Stupidest thing I ever read.

"Should I eat a cracker? If I do then L will be able to infer that I enjoy salt, and salt was used to prepare bodies in ancient Egypt. A salt liker could easily be Kira!"
"If he eats the cracker, I will know with 53% certainty that Light is Kira."
A passing police officer looks into the room, witnesses the cracker staredown.
"These two are genuises!"

Jar Jar then enters. Meesa-meesa missing you Lighty! Ahwooooo!

They need that extra guy in the room to explain that what they are doing isn't stupid wankery, but awesome genius level plotting.

Soul Eater 93

Havar´s speech was great. Stein is amazing, and he just wanted to dissect stuff :D Justin vs. Stein is coming up and i can´t wait for it. Stein has a screw loose in his head

You have reminded me about the amazing Death Note fast food parody:
<&Light|Hungry> man, I'm hungry
<&Light|Hungry> i want a burger
<&Light|Hungry> i could go to mcdonalds, but
<&Light|Hungry> that would force me to take a right turn on university blvd
<&Light|Hungry> whereas burger king is on the left
<&Light|Hungry> and if i take a right turn
<&Light|Hungry> then L might realize that i 'm predisposed to the right side
<&Light|Hungry> meaning i m right handed
<&Light|Hungry> which would mean i might be kira
<&Light|Hungry> since kira is also right handed
<&Light|Hungry> on the other hand
<&Light|Hungry> if i go to burger king
<&Light|Hungry> he might suspect that i prefer charbroiled burgers
<&Light|Hungry> and kira is evil, and evil is associated with fire
<&Light|Hungry> and therefore burger king is associated with kira
<&Light|Hungry> unless, i go to burger king, and get their whopper junior
<&Light|Hungry> instead of their regular whopper
<&Light|Hungry> because then, it would indicate that i don't really like that much fire
<&Light|Hungry> but then l might realize that i'm only going to burger king and getting the whopper jr
<&Light|Hungry> to throw him off my track
<&Light|Hungry> and that i really am kira, intentionally trying to hide the fact that i'm kira
<&Light|Hungry> but if i go to mcdonalds, he might realize
<&Light|Hungry> that i realize
<&Light|Hungry> that he would realize
<&Light|Hungry> that if i had gone to burger king
<&Light|Hungry> he would know l was kira trying to hide it
<&Light|Hungry> unless i get onion rings instead of fries with my whopper jr
<&Light|Hungry> because everyone knows onions repel vampires
<&Light|Hungry> and vampires are harbingers of death
<&Light|Hungry> and thus distantly related to shinigami
<&Light|Hungry> which are behind the powers of the death note
<&Light|Hungry> therefore, if i eat onions
<&Light|Hungry> then i can't be kira
<&Light|Hungry> because the onions might nullify those powers
<&Light|Hungry> but what if l realizes
<&Light|Hungry> that i might be willing to take that risk
<&Light|Hungry> and consume onions
<&Light|Hungry> in order to evade capture
<&Light|Hungry> or what if he doesn't even make the connection between vampires and shinigami
<&Light|Hungry> no, that's foolish thinking
<&Light|Hungry> there's no way l wouldn't pick up on a connection like that
<&Light|Hungry> unless he doesn't even know that i got onion rings
<&Light|Hungry> but to make sure he knows i got onion rings
<&Light|Hungry> i'd have to eat them in front of him
<&Light|Hungry> which would seem awkward, going all the way to burger king, then coming all the way back just to eat onion rings
<&Light|Hungry> unless i ask him if he wants anything from burger king too, then i could bring it back to him
<&Light|Hungry> but what if he's not hungry
<&Light|Hungry> i'd have to either make sure he's hungry
<&Light|Hungry> or ask someone else, one of the staff around here, if they'd like me to pick up something for them
<&Light|Hungry> but if i ask someone else
<&Light|Hungry> when i havent' asked anyone else in the past
<&Light|Hungry> l might realize that i'm doing it so that i can have an excuse
<&Light|Hungry> to come back here and eat onion rings
<&Light|Hungry> and demonstrate to him that i don't fear consuming onions
<&Light|Hungry> and that consequently, i'm not kira
<&Light|Hungry> all in an attempt to cover up the truth
<&Light|Hungry> unless i can get someone to ask me to pick up something for them
<&Light|Hungry> then it's not me trying to hide the fact, i'd just be obliging someone else
<&Light|Hungry> but how do i get someone else
<&Light|Hungry> to ask me to get them something from burger king
<&Light|Hungry> what if, instead of burger king, they wanted something from mcdonalds instead
<&Light|Hungry> if they did, i would then have an excuse to go to mcdonalds instead of burger king
<&Light|Hungry> citing the request as my reason for taking a right turn instead of a left
<&Light|Hungry> and thus exhoneratinq my choise from implicating me as kira
<&Light|Hungry> but if i do go to mcdonalds
<&Light|Hungry> i have to get an apple pie with my value meal
<&Light|Hungry> etc etc etc

Silver Spoon's out!

Glad it turned out that way. I totally expected Arakawa to go with the cheese and have him keep the thing as a pet.

Maybe it's just been so long since I read Death Note but ... I don't actually remember anything even remotely close to as ridiculous as the two examples here.

A Girl by the Sea (vol1)

-Parenting is a lost trade.

GbtS is a story regarding a set of middle school kids under different circumstances, trying to find their place in the world. The emphasis on sex is more of a means to show the uncertainty and not necessarily the focal point. There appears to be a common theme of lack of guidance. Either parenting that is absent/frivolous or routine/mechanical. You don't see any true connections between the two main characters and family.

There are difficulties coping with issues without support to get through them. Isobe has issues with his father and the tragedy of his brother. He also has hang-ups regarding possessions and personal sexual confusion. Sato had difficulty coping with a simple rejection therefore running away to sex with Isobe. She is unable to cope or understand her own feelings due to her personality. It is clear they exist but she has no ability to reflect.

There are other events from outside characters showing their own flaws. And vol1 ends on quite the cliffhanger. It is an insightful series thus far that shows how a particular environment (small town by the sea) can affect children of that age. There are multiple developments including a huge event with the cliffhanger so I am anticipating more to read.

Vol in 3 (sex, confusion, self-destruction)

There Survivor, I read it. ;)

Ippo

What the hell are you doing Itagaki. It's like it's the first time he's fighting. It's not like feints are some advanced new modern sparkling overwhelming concept or something, shit.

Maybe it's just been so long since I read Death Note but ... I don't actually remember anything even remotely close to as ridiculous as the two examples here.

Only the tenis match IIRC, which was one of my favorite parts because of how ridiculous it was and how in the end Light just went "fuck this shit, I want to win" after all that.

It's grossly exaggerated. Death Note isn't even clever enough to warrant that.

Well, yeah, they're exaggerations but I more meant there's nothing ridiculous in the logic trappings. There's some ridiculous gambits, sure, but the logic traps aren't that convoluted. Not that they need to be for the jokes about it, I guess.

Hajime no Ippo 961 - lol feints. I suppose it's more than that at the speeds they're going at but ... lol feints.

Only the tenis match IIRC, which was one of my favorite parts because of how ridiculous it was and how in the end Light just went "fuck this shit, I want to win" after all that.

Hah, I had actually forgotten about the thinking during that match.

HSD
Good chapter and the last 2 pages gave me a good laugh .
Was going to wait a while before i starting reading again but change my mind.

Fun Fact: Muu's new nickname; Bulu is supposed to be the indo-malay translation of feather.

Problem with is, feather is 'bulu pelepah'. Bulu just means fur in general. What makes things hilarious is that 'bulu' is usually used to refer to pubic hair.

Therefore I really can't take this arc seriously at the moment.
