Has anyone here been to these outdoor games? How easy (or difficult) is it to follow the game? It seems like no matter where you sit, you're going to be really far away from the ice.

I went to the Sabres outdoor, and it wasn't the best hockey to watch. We were in the endzone seats (football stadium) about 25 rows up. Viewing angles were pretty bad, but it wasn't impossible to follow.

That said, it was awesome to be there and I would go again given the chance.

I'd assume that football stadiums are slightly better than baseball stadiums because of how it's shaped?

Baseball stadiums seem awkward.

I really hope Sabres get the nod for another winter classic with a 24/7 series to follow. I really need to know what this locker room is like on the inside...

i went to the one in buffalo at the football stadium and the one in chicago at wrigley and far preferred the view at wrigley. only problem with a baseball stadium (maybe this is just specifically wrigley) is the restroom situation just isnt meant for intermissions.

Gonna miss the game for a New Years party tonight, and I don't really mind, going to be hard to give a shit unless they can start stringing 4-5 wins together.

Oh and thank the fucking lord this is the last day I have this awful avatar, nothing but bad luck and karma.

Yea I don't expect that to happen, but that's what it will take to get my hopes of playoffs up again, where we'd get bounced in the first round anyways they just need to actually tank and start over fresh next season.

Nathan Gerbe might be back for Buffalo tonight, and they've called up TJ Brennan to replace Ehrhoff. They've got 4 defensemen in the lineup 24 years old or younger.

Hopefully Enroth starts in net tonight, as Lindy seems to be getting awfully close to that "we can't start the backup ever!" mindset again.

Jiggy starting in net for the Avs tonight against the Ducks. His first game back to the Ponda Center since being traded for Blake and Toskala?

Welcome back, Giguere!!!

Yep, 24/7 and the alumni games are awesome additions since they started this. I'd be interested if our locker room hates Roy as much as I suspect they do.

I hate mark messier so much. I'll never forgive him for screwing the Canucks twice.

dark days my friend, dark days......

But on the bright side we now have two reasons why Messier isn't worth the time, or was even worth the time to begin with, I think Linden would agree.

edit: damn you Tabris, and fuck you Keenan!!!! ;)

Isn't he still in a big fight with the NHL over money owed to him by the Coyotes?

Yeah he is owed $9 million, but that isnt the league that is the Coyotes former owner Jerry Moyes. It seems silly to punish all hockey fans because some guy ripped him off. The league even tried to get them to go to mediation but it didnt seem to work.
