"Bring on the ISO loaders"

Fuck these stupid pirates, don't even know that it wouldn't be an ISO given Vita games are on cards. I hope they're banished to PSP emulator realm forever!

Indeed. Here in Spain there's a shitload of people that hate on the Vita for every single thing UNTIL there are news about hacking. Then they are all over it. Motherfuckers.

Can anyone with their vita near them check something. Put your vita to sleep. Wake it up and at the swipe screen check if you have wireless signal then swipe to the home screen and see if the signal disappears. This is incredibly annoying to me. I don't understand why it disconnects the wireless coming out of sleep for a good 30 seconds when it was clearly connected before swiping...

I don't own a Vita or anything but that seems to me like the console is actually disconnected when you turn it on (at least it should) but the display says it's still connected because it's showing what was happening when you put it to sleep. It's like IRC on a computer, if you suspend and the wake it up you see it as if you were still connected for a few seconds :P

Yeah that's what I thought but either way it should stay connected. It's annoying because you can't surf the web or friends list until it connects...

motorstorm arctic storm

How did you get PSP games to work? They don't show up on my system even though I have them on PS3. Are you using a Japanese account?

The two options in settings that say to check automatically and then open near automatically.

Yup I have the same thing it will auto shutoff the wifi when I was swiping it to awake.

But if you disable NEAR in the autostart those option you mentioned will also be disabled (and greyed out in the menu).

Anyways do you notice when you put the vita to sleep and wait for 30 seconds the ps button will flash blue and stop?

i have a HK vita.

my main PSN account is singaporean.

all the PSP games were downloaded from the singaporean PSN store.

i had to redownload all my PSP games onto my PS3 because the 'old versions' (with 5 activations allowed) wont transfer over to the vita. once i download the 'new versions' (with only 2 allowable activations), it let me transfer them over.

the PSP games all appear in the content manager. was able to copy them all over to the vita except for three of them (def jam fight for new york, beats, EA replay)

i cant take any good shots of motorstorm running because i have a crap camera on my phone but here's the PSP games on the vita.

Ah, just finished the Gravity Daze demo for the second time. First was during the Vita campaign when I had a 10 minute time limit and skipped all the cutscenes etc. This game will be so good... Can't wait.

Need recommendations for game card holders. Ideally one that takes 6 or 12, and in a thin case

also, is the cradle worth getting? Does the vita dock using its usual connector (might be tricky to connect up) or does it use different charging terminals and just drop in?

As for the game card holders, I'll quote myself from some pages back:
I've decided to go with the case that allows you to play games without taking Vita out of it, mainly because the pouches don't seem to protect the console well - my friend's Kindle got smashed in something like that, so I'd rather be cautious.
The only downside is the lack of game card/memory card slots, but that's why I bought this sexy beast (at a 100 yen shop):

Charging dock is definitely worth it. It charges using the usual connector but it slots in extremely easily. I've never "missed" once. Has nice rubber stands too so it doesn't move around.

I have the 6 hori game holder. There are 12 and 24 cart variants. It's absolutely perfect. Games are easy to get out yet secure!

If you use vita cradle while vita still has juice would the battery life begin to shrink? This is a battery question in general.

It'd be quite interesting to have a thread with Vita's little known features for instance.

I discovered that if you go into the friends app, then go to activity, it shows you what your friends have been doing. Within here you can like their activity and also leave a comment.

I also noticed that when you have game data installed, when there is a patch for said game an orange icon will appear, which you can then download whether the game cartridge is in or not.

Any other lesser known facts?

similar question, if i keep the vita plugged in while i play, will this be bad for the battery in the long run?

Well think like most batteries better to still once in awhile do a full drain and recharge. But I think the power adapter is smart enough to stop charging the battery when it's full.

Well you can hold down the PS button and access the brightness in any app or game.

What Vita games have patches?

I'd like to see more PSP games on it. Preferably some that I would like to play, like Gran Turismo, Resistance Retribution, Motorostorm: Arctic Edge, and Loco Roco. And even though they have new Vita games coming out, I'd like to see how the PSP versions of LittleBigPlanet and Modnation look, since I own those. Are these games not on the Japanese store? Or is it simply a case of nobody buying them?

Unfortunately, the guy on this page has many of those, but a terrible camera, lol.

doesn't it only need the 3G for the GPS? So in theory it'd work without 3G connectivity
Because the GPS is located on the same piece of hardware as the 3G, only the 3G model has GPS.
Has anybody played Monster Radar? Yoshida's tweeted about it a few times.
I did, my impressions from the other Vita thread:
Monster Radar - I seriously don't understand why someone would buy this thing. As opposed to other demos on the event, instead of playing the game, it was more listening to an explanation of some dude, who introduced all the features. Meh, catching monsters by going to certain spots (or buying items in the in-game store which extend player's reach up to 3000 km, you get money by selling your monsters) and being able to pet them and give them toys so they grow bigger isn't really my kind of thing. The process of catching the monsters boils down to finding them with the camera and touching them to use the net. Meh.

Also, a patch for the PC Content Manager software has been released allowing you to transfer files without forcing a net connection to check if the Vita is on the latest FW.
An official patch? Where?

Edit:
Ok, nevermind, it's not official. ;d

The playstation vita has already been hacked? WOW. That did not take long at all.
Nah, it's just the emulator needed for playing PSP games on Vita. It has the same vulnerabilities as the PSP (which is completely open for hackers to do as they please). The Vita itself is safe for the time being.

i wonder if the vita will stay open when it comes to the psp. i'd like to easily be able to move my psp games over there without having to pay sony for the "right" to transfer.

also, when emulating the psp, can you play ps1 games?

IM confused. I saw him running a sega emulator and doom?

It's homebrew that you can run on the PSP. The security flaw in PSP emulator in Vita enables you to run PSP homebrew, thus enabling all those emulators.

Anyone tried buying Vita from HMV Japan? Do they even ship Vita outside of Japan?

No, because they use EMS, and that company don't send litium batteries (that is inside Vita) outside Japan. To do this, you have to use another system, like whiterabbit, and get sure that they use FedEx.

My Vita was sent to me via EMS without any problem.

You were lucky, or maybe it depend of the country. But in HMV they canceled my Vita because EMS was not allowed because of the batteries. And when I checked it in whiterabbit, they told me that they had to charge me more because instead of EMS they needed to use FedEx to sent it.
