The anime didn't reach that far (basically ended at the Cassie/East Genetics arc).
plus the fact the MC was fucking worthless didn't help that arc either.

This show really brought it all together at the end. I can forgive it for the utter boredom of episodes 8-9 now, because 10-12 really kicked it up a few notches. It does seem that the budget was just a bit short of what they needed, since they failed to animate the final brawl involving the twins and the others, but that's okay.
Whoever 'david production' are, they left it all out on the field. Some of the big studios would do well to learn from these guys, because Goliath had better be watching his fucking back. They put everything they had into this show.
If there is anything good in this world worth fighting for, Ben-To will get a season 2.

This is probably in the bag with how the last season sold. Still weird how the second PSP game was announced before the second season of the show was. I guess the extended "Ending" DVD-Only episodes sorta threw the announcement off a bit as it made the first season take more of their time in preparing 3 additional episodes.

This is pretty much a sure thing, I think they're just waiting for a little more material. As I understand it, the anime went through book 5, of which there are currently 9. I could see them starting the animation for books 6-9 now, followed by 10 when it comes out.
I gave it a rewatch a few months and it was soooo good.

Gundam SEED HD ep 1
Well for my third Gundam this was shocking. I only have half of 00 and 13 episodes of Gundam AGE to compare too but its going to be hard for these mobile suits to compare to the AGE System and GN particles, however, the plot was pretty intense. Kira is an interesting main, even if close up animation for him is lacking and
I guess my definition of remaster is not Bandai's definition, some scenes need redrawing or at least more detail. OST is nice, and the actual TRUE HD opening and ending and the eyecatch I guess was awesome. Ending theme track is nice.

Plenty of family dorama packed into these episodes. I didn't really dig the whole parental neglect motif, but watching

Did a New Years Detective Conan movie marathon to catch me up to where I am in the TV series. Impressions abound.
The Private Eyes Requiem
Quickly paced, not diluted by some overbearing underwhelming mystery with a lot of surprises. While it did feel a bit like a long TV Original in terms of story, the animation and various details made it worthwhile. Kid's appearance was a bit... fanservicey? I didn't mind it, but in retrospect it didn't make all that much sense. Not much else to say other than it was a fun movie.
Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure
Oh boy, what to say... Other than being Detective Conan, this movie offered me nothing. This really DID feel like a TV original episode made available as a theatrical release. There was no real mystery to speak of and what was a mystery was entirely too thinly veiled. The animation was barely up to what one would expect from a movie's budget and the sequences that were supposed to be action packed and thrilling were laughable because of how absurd or unnecessary they were. Maybe I was just let down by the lack of pirate costumes that the marketing material seemed to imply.

Not the most memorable or action packed of the bunch, but still managed to be quite enjoyable. The classical pieces played throughout (that the plot revolved around) and the above average screenplay made it enjoyable to watch. Felt much more "movie-like" than the previous flick. There were a few niggling problems though, for instance, it is discovered that Conan apparently has "perfect pitch". The problem with that is, throughout the show, anything music-related is Conan's one Achilles heel. So much so, that he has to consult someone with perfect pitch as a vital part of an arc. Well, if he has perfect pitch, then you're telling me that during an entire arc he sought out someone for nothing? Very odd. My hopes for this film were to see him toil through one thing that he doesn't have a mastery understanding of, but it turns out he does. So. Yeah.
The Raven Chaser
I'd always seen a lot of promotional things for this movie, so I anticipated that it was probably a big deal. And It is. This is the second movie (but the first proper, if you ask me) that revolves entirely on The Black Organization. There's a lot of set-up and a lot of pay off. Probably the best movie to date and subject to a lot of fist pumping and edge sitting. It probably has the darkest tone of any of the movies too, but manages to not feel down right macabre. Lovely. Great movie to end my marathon on.

Seitokai no Ichizon 1-2 - Quite unlike Seitokai Yakuindomo, this student council series about a boy in a mostly-girls school is a harem series, and is insultingly stupid too. Basically, the concept is that the one guy is a perverted otaku who tells the girls that he likes them all, might want a harem, etc, and also does most of the work too -- the student council president is easily distracted and doesn't like doing actual work, so he ends up taking most of the work on himself. Somehow the show presents this as a positive thing -- "look at how useful and good he is" or something -- but in fact it's annoying sexism. I really dislike that.
Now, there is one semi-redeeming element to this show -- it does have some amusing comedy bits, particularly when it's parodying other shows. But I don't think that makes up for how bad and unlikable the elements I described above are. I doubt I'll be watching much, if any, more of this.
Maria Holic 1 - The story's just started, but this could be amusing, sure... or it could just be stupid. I'll have to watch more to see. The first episode was mostly entertaining at least.

This is obviously not an ending; instead, it's a middle, or the end of an arc, or something like that. Who knows if any more of this thing gets animated, though... but it's not like I exactly want it to continue, so whatever.
Anyway, in this episode, the plotline that has been suggested for several episodes now is finally resolved, sort of, maybe. In the beginning of the episode, Haruka, the most powerful girl in school, and the MC's childhood friend/love interest, is kidnapped. How exactly the villains pull this off is not explained -- she's so ridiculously powerful that it seems quite hard to believe -- but yeah, it's yet another reconcurrence of that generic "no matter how strong they are female characters are easily kidnapped because of sexism" syndrome, clearly.
Anyway, the MC soon learns that she's been kidnapped, of course, and his sexist and incredibly stupid "I MUST PROTECT GIRLS" mode turns on 100%. I mean, sure, the villains told you "come alone", but why did you actually obey? Right, because the idea of actually letting girls to fight (whenever he can do something to stop it) isn't something his poor little brain wants to allow... so yeah, he goes off to save her.
Oh, there are flashbacks in this episode too. They tell the story of how the MC got so angry whenever he sees girls fighting or in danger. It's your generic childhood trauma, but it in absolutely no way excuses why he tries to "protect" girls from things they don't need protection from, or stop them from fighting in the middle of duels simply because of their gender, etc. He's such a horrible, HORRIBLE character, and incredibly unlikable as well, as a result.
It's probably no surprise that, of course, his super-awesome hidden powers fully manifest, soon enough. The end result of all this is actually kind of amusing, though. Instead of things going the way you'd expect, or the way that the episode had been foreshadowing they would through the plot and flashbacks

She forces his hand and attacks first, and in response he has a meltdown or something and his powers explode out of him and take control -- he becomes a mindless destroyer at this point, pretty much (his form doesn't change, but he loses all reason and starts heading towards the school, intent on destroying it or something I believe). Apparently something that was inside him, that he was getting power from, took over. It doesn't really matter. He seems to be absorbing powers around him now, too, I guess.
At this point, the three girls from that new group show up and rescue Haruka. That must have been some amazing magic rope her hands were tied up with, to completely incapacitate her like that for no stated reason... (yes, this stuff is quite stupid.) Haruka rushes to stop the MC and make him wake up again. This requires her to actually fully draw her sword, for the first time in the series. He does absorb some of her powers, but the sword gets through. Apparently getting stabbed with her sword is the way to turn him back to normal again, becuase after this he's back.
In conclusion, the villains say that they will get revenge and leave. Yes, there's no climactic confrontation or anything like that; the two villains who were students were captured, and the group supporting them retreated with those vows to get revenge, the end.

I like how he doesn't actually save her or stop the villains, and the girls end up doing both, essentially. That was nice to see.

I still have no idea what is happening. Is twisting a simple story to be as confusing as possible the new cool stuff to do because people ran out of plot idea?
I guess I shouldn't judge too early, there are still 15 episodes left. Something awesome could be coming.
I will try to finish it, hopefully this is worth it.

DEEN doesn't seem that bad based on my experience with them (which is only like 7 shows, but still). Anyone who adapts Law of Ueki almost perfectly deserves at least some respect.
