If there is no Youtube app, it'll be a huge disappointment since you can't even load Youtube on their shitty browser. And Japan has their app for their Youtube equivalent

I've ordered every Vita game/accessory as a separate order cause I keep getting special promo codes to knock off a few bucks, lol. Plus the games and accessories should come 1 week early (I don't plan to get the early edition so having my other stuff early will be nice)
Promos? Do tell.

Scrapped my order of the First Edition bundle. Not a great value, and I realized how little I care about having it a week early.

hmm seems like my question was ignored so I'll ask again

anyone knows which store will be carrying the accessories in canada? I cant find anything on gamestop/bestbuy/amazon site

Also, is it known if the prices for psn would be cheaper than physical copy? I have always bought physical copies for my psp games in most cases so I don't bother to look at the psn prices.

If you want Little Deviants, 4GB memory stick, and 3G you are fine (because it throws in the case). I want the first edition so I can have it in time for a local anime convention. If I wait for the un-bundled versions, I won't get it until after.

What accessories are you guys planning to buy? I feel like all I really want is a screen protector for some reason. Maybe a pouch, but not a hard case.

I'd be more inclined to bite on the First Edition Bundle if Amazon had release day delivery.

Well the First Edition bundle comes 1 week earlier, so you are good either way :D

I'm grabbing the charge on the go pack and the pouch and a screen protector (along with 32gb MC)

I tried really hard (and almost succeeded) in fooling myself into thinking that I wanted Little Deviants. The 4gb card is just too small. I do want 3G though.

Niconico really isn't a substitute for Youtube... even for Japan.

I am an Amazon Prime member. I expect to receive it in a day at least (or I'd hope). Better be there by my anime convention.:P

If you don't want Little Deviants, best you don't buy it.;) I played it at one of the mall showings and decided to get it. I plan to buy physical games mostly. I'll likely get a larger card a month later.

I'm staying in Taiwan for 10 days and saw the vita in the wild last night. It's much bigger than I imagined and the screen looks incredible.

They are selling an Asia region 'value pack' for $360USD that includes the Vita, uncharted game, 4GB memory card and a bunch of other stuff that's not really important.. Screen cloth, strap etc

Not sure if I'll bite or wait for the Australian release back home..

Gah, I hope the info on that Gamestop document isn't set in stone because a couple of the games I wanted at launch are now a little farther back. I guess it's still not a bad tradeoff if Gravity Rush ends up being a launch title though. I would just end up grabbing it instead of Army Corps of Hell.

LBP for March sounds fine and is honestly quicker than I was anticipating. I really think LBP will be the first great game that shows off all the Vita's features and I can't wait to experience the final product.

So in Feb that would give me:
Wipeout 2048
Gravity Rush
Shinobido
Super Stardust Delta

And in March:
Army Corps of Hell
LBP
1 or 2 other titles from the launch list depending on my mood

Grab one (or two) for a fellow Australian! :D

hm. rayman and lumines $40 each on newegg.

got to sort out my games now.

think i got my day 1 stuff now

Amazon

Hot Shots Golf
Touch My Katamari
3G/Wifi Vita

Newegg

32GB Vita Card
Lumines

Total: $540.

Not bad.

Strange that Sony doesn't sell the "Pocket Pouch" separately, it's only in the starter kit. That's the one that is like the original PSP pouch (which I still use)

So they have 4 "official" cases in total, counting the hard case in the First Edition bundle.

Ubisoft is terrible so we should be grateful they didn't pull the $50 card.

they'd be crazy to do that for rayman after current sales.

was planning on getting within launch window

Vita Wifi
16/32 GB memcard
Lumines
Super StarDust Delta
WipEout 2048/Hot shots (depending on any promos or deals)
Gravity Daze
Cradle
headset

yeah it is stranger.

I figured I would get the starter kit and put the 4gb MC in a dark place in space.

Man the cradle looks awesome. I'm psyched for that accessory and good price ($20) for it.

I'm also surprised people complaining about accessory prices. Just imagine the Vita was priced at $269.99 (which is still less than the price most of you were expecting pre-e3 at 299.99) as you wouldn't have expected a lot of onboard memory.

Maybe I'm not as concerned as I'm used to accessory pricing of companies like Microsoft and Apple where a controller costs $60+ and Hard drive costs $120 and a cradle (ipad) costs $30.

EDIT - Does anyone have details on USA / Canada PSP UMD Passport program?

yeah I'm going to buy 2.

1 for work and 1 for home.

I asked Yoshida about the passport program back when it was announced for Japan. He said "No comment" which to me means a nope for the west.

No PSP UMD Passport program = No purchase at launch for me. I'm not interested in any of the launch games so I would wait as I would have nothing to play.

I'd admittedly like it if, rather than get the passport program, we just got heavy discounts PERIOD on a ton of PSP games. Or at least some generous sales to help promote the Vita.

what about US PSN digital download prices?

I know a lot of games in Japan got a $5-10 discount over the physical version, interested to see if the same hold true for america

PS Vita 3G data plan costs revealed, were there the whole time
by Mike Splechta, January 02, 2012

Last week we reported that AT&T doesn't seem to have a clue about the 3G data plans for the Vita. Contacting AT&T either by phone or by chat revealed that they didn't know what the costs associated with a 3G plan for the Vita were, let alone what the Vita itself is.

Thankfully going into an actual AT&T retailer store got way better results. Apparently the Vita won't have any special prices associated with it, and it will instead use the same data plans that they've already been using for other 3G devices, such as the iPad's.

There are two plans at the moment:
250MB of data - $14.99/month
2GB of data - $25/month

I've been informed that doing things like streaming YouTube or music will eat away fairly quick even at a 2GB data plan (though YouTube doesn't currently work with the Vita anyways) but that playing games online shouldn't be that taxing since the game is already predownloaded or running from a cartridge, though it was still recommended to get the 2GB plan if the Vita would be use extensively.

That means you're looking at $300 per year if you decide to go with the 2GB plan for the Vita. A positive point about this is that it doesn't require a contract and is paid on a month to month basis.

What do you think about that? Is it worth it to dish out $25 a month to be able to play multiplayer whenever you choose, or use GPS that most phones are already equipped with?

kinda overpriced, but is that more of an AT&T pricing thing or sony?

Exact same prices for the iPad data plan, so AT&T.

And I guess Sony for going with such a shitty provider.

Pricing is supposed to be announced this week. I wouldn't believe that just yet. The guys in the store might just be assuming. I will wait to for something a little more official before a say something like "lol Sony".

Doesn't necessarily means nope.

Could also means not ready yet.

it's obviously AT&T thing, I don't see how people expected it to be cheaper than current 3g plans for ipad or w/e device. THis is AT&T we are talking about here.

Yeah its AT&T. I would be surprised if the pricing was different. It's a rip but honestly compared to basically all the other providers it's not that big of a ripoff.
