Who is he?

Rob Dyrdek, pro-skater dude, has had a couple MTV shows.

I sat right in front of Kurt Russell on a plane returning from Greece and exchanged a manly nod of greeting with him. He got his bag before me from baggage claim and I wound up directly behind him at customs. The customs agent asked me "So are you in movies too?" while reading my passport... weird

just took some random pics

you guys choose: 1, 2, or 3!

Ohhh Quasi-Celebrity stories?

Jim Carrey's daughter went to the same grade school as me.
One day I made sure no one was around, and followed him back to his car to ask for an autograph. This was like Ace Ventura/Mask/etc, he was HUGE!

It was me, jim, and an empty car lot.

I asked him for an autograph in which he replied[YELLING at the top of his lungs]

"NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BECAUSE IF I GAVE YOU ONE I'D HAVE TO GIVE EEEVERRRRRYYYONEEE ELSE ONE!"

Maybe he was just having a bad day. But I was just a kid.

One thing I always wanted to ask an LA resident, especially one involved in entertainment, how do you separate the users and fake asses from the genuine people?

oh god, i would have peed my pants and threw up simultaneously if he had even said anything. i opened the door, saw what was happening and literally screamed as i ran out.

No lock on those doors?

I shook Derek Fisher's hand when he was a rookie in the parking lot after a game.
I saw Christoper Titus at the LA car Show.
I saw Kurt Russel looking to buy a movie ticket at 3rd Street.

For living in Los Angeles all my life my stories really suck.

It's been easy from me I still hang with people I have known most of my life. The fakes are pretty easy to identify and mostly hang with a certain crowd.

Kurt Russel apparently gets around. What a whore.

2 is the best, you look better under that light.

So apparently a ton of GAFers are way cooler than one would have thought and have lived eventful lives.

Man, we are kicking the gamer stereotype's ass.

The thing is, I have so many of these encounters, but I feel bad talking about them, unless they are particularly funny or involve some cool news. Otherwise I feel that people think I am lying or bragging. Seriously, almost each of these posts has reminded me of even more stories. I should probably write them down before I forget them all.

Well, its not too much unlike any other social setting. I think the difference between toxic people and decent humans is a lot more transparent in the Entertainment industry, because for the most part, decent people don't exist. I've made some really wonderful lifelong friends through my work in production, but the vast majority of people i've met were just ephemeral experiences that i had the chance of learning from.

It was definitely a trip. Just not the one for me.

Start a blog, i'll follow you.

Oh right!

E3!

Then I've met Adam Sessler, sat down at a lunch table that included Miyamoto, Bill Trinen, Will Wright, Sakurai, and Kojima, played Gears 1 against Kojima, got Aonuma to sign a DS card that contained the Twilight Princess 2005 trailer, called Tim Rogers a windbag, and got in to a weird staring contest with Kobe Bryant at a Kinect booth.

I bought Bradley Cooper & his entire birthday party shots. This was before the hangover, I didn't know who he was. Cool guy. Was sort of crashing his table. I was there with a friend, she was invited. Not too many other guys..

If we're sharing celebrity stories...

I got hit on by Sandra Bernhardt.

I was groped by a famous comedian who identifies publicly as a lesbian. To be fair, I was pretty cute in those days, but still. I just wanted some free coke and I thought she was into my friend. We went to her apartment and got on the sofa and then bam.

Kinda awkward. Good coke, though.

How did you get into the business and where did you first start?
I hereby declare this Most Eclectic Thread on Gaf.
Reveal your true face Hawkman.

All that for a refreshing beverage?
