That sounds pretty interesting.

He is, just not at all in the way he's portrayed in the Dos Equis ads. I remember him telling a story about trying to circumnavigate the globe in his boat with a friend, or maybe his wife, i can't remember.

More than anything else, it was wild and maybe a little disheartening to see him come in at 6am as himself, and emerge from wardrobe/makeup at 10am as the character we all know him as. Illusion was shattered for all times

Watch out, though. I taught a lot of adult English classes on the side and there were attractive Japanese women 25-35 that were in there SOLELY to learn English to get a foreign man and have a hafu-baby. I shit you not.

Yeah, I've heard these stories, too.

An Australian friend of mine that worked at a pre-school said the mothers would ask for "private english lessons" and he knew the code.

Never did ask if that meant he refused.

To be perfectly fair, I as an English-speaking Asian sometimes get the same treatment from foreign Asian women.

Okay see, my illusion has only been reinforced now. I can live with the fact that he does not have a beard now.

Only super old (5 years or more) stuff is online. I'm a little embarrassed of it, but it still holds a warm squishy place in my heart.

A quick and dirty pic I whipped up for a friend: Mask
Fanart
Doodle

I'm more just sketching now. If any good ones come out of Gaf pics I might post them.

How about you?

Glad to see I'm not the only one drawing people in masks and with horns! That's what I draw when I can't think of anything else...

I knew a guy who had his girlfriend's friend seriously proposition him for help in making a half-white baby. She didn't want a relationship with him, just the baby. Needless to say, his girlfriend wasn't pleased (even if he was.)

You're black. It's basically like having a sign around your neck that says "GIRLS HAVE SEX WITH ME I'M THE BEST"

I didn't have that level of success with ladies in japan, but being brown meant that I got into parties I really shouldn't have, which was enough for me.

Well.. I do like girls. In Italy I just got the stink eye from EVERYONE. I was with a non-black gal at the time. So maybe thats why.. But man, felt a little awkward. I know theres a portion of japanese that are into the culture, but that popular culture isn't one I usually fit in. With my "Ancient Alien On Board" bumper sticker.

My ex-gf in Korea turned out to be looking for this.

She went kinda nuts at the end and stole my rabbit.

All men are prey. :D

Somes guys are into that I guess

"Yes, mistress!"

dude, that's so bizarre! i was unaware of this phenomenon.

Thetrin, out of curiosity, do you refer to yourself as asian?

I used to, but then people would get either confused or incredulous, so I stopped.

There never was any Indian/South Asian option on applications and forms so I always have to put down Asian. My dad refers to himself as "oriental" lol.

G'Night. Not sleeping at all for the next 24 hours. Got to reset my cycle.

I have 2 internship interviews lined up and another job hopefully coming up. Can't wake up at 6pm anymore.

Good luck!

He was one of the 'god' characters from my comic. The horns were key. ^_-

As for the baby thing, yup-yup. I heard that from so many male JETs when I was there. To be fair, though, my Japanese boyfriend at the time would joke that we'd make great hafu-babies too. Maybe the Japanese are just obsessed?

Yeah, I usually just put asian on those. It's weird how there's no option for us.

It's made even more confusing as a kid because the options are like

- Caucasian
- African
- Asian
- Indian/Native American

And I'm, like, seven with a pencil in my hand and being told these standardized tests follow me throughout life. I don't know which of these means what I am!

My tag should be a warning signal to the tagless. Sometimes no tag is better than having one.

I'm still not sure what thread got me this.

I know that feel.

They are. It's an anachronism. Fucking Victorians.

Actually, it comes from the Caucasus:
The concept of a Caucasian race or Varietas Caucasia was developed around 1800 by Johann Friedrich Blumenbach, a German scientist and classical anthropologist. Blumenbach named it after the Caucasian peoples (from the Southern Caucasus region), whom he considered to be the archetype for the grouping.

Good luck!

Thanks!

Tell me about it. I mean they even have Middle Eastern now, come on.

My tag is a lie. I'm actually quite content being a loser slave of the system.
Maybe the person who gave it to you was sad that you're content with that.

I always thought it arose as a result of your Snow avatar.

Mine was for this: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=22082715&postcount=72

In hindsight I wish I wrote "motherfucker" properly, but I wanted to add some style to it.
I think my tag (possibly unfairly) lends more weight to my opinion.
It does, but to your credit I think it fits quite well.

Haha, really? I think that one story was the only time I heard of anything like it (and my ex certainly wasn't the type to talk about babies. He was the "too cool for everything" type. Yikes.) Well, I guess I did hear a lot of people gushing over how adorable half babies are. I guess it's something different/interesting. But then I hear all these terrible things about how half children are treated in school :< Maybe it has changed in recent years...

On tags: I hope I never get one. It feels too much like getting a brand of shame. Even if it is amusing.
