Multiple angles showing the ball hitting the ground. Not shocked with that overturn.

Ball can hit the ground though. It's whether it aided in the catch.

Meh I'm not a VT fan in any stretch, but none of the calls have fallen their way tonight. Hard to overcome that.

Fun game, but neither team should be in this bowl. It was shameful that they took these two teams while Boise St. got handed a piece of garbage Arizona St. team to blow out.

I just wanted to drop in and say fuck the Pac-12 officials for ruining the game.

It was never a fucking issue of failure to maintain possession.

He either caught it or he didn't catch it. The ground did not help him maintain possession, even though it moved. Therefore it is a catch.

Also, fucking conclusive evidence, how does it work? You sure as shit didn't have that. Play shouldn't have been confirmed, but it should have stood as called.

Great. We won. Whoop whoop. Whatever.

We played like dogshit most of the game and had to rely on VT falling victim to the refs and a missed kick, I'm not pleased at all. Good for the kids though, I'm glad they get something to feel good about after the last few years.

Fuck yea. It just ain't a Stricherz game without a controversial call that alters the game!

Congrats on your win =)

It is kinda sad knowing that several teams in non BCS bowl games would have beaten either of these teams. Boise St especially.

the ball clearly moved when it hit the ground and then was secured against (using) the ground. it was a good reversal. who cares if every call that was reviewed went against VT? they were the right calls

All game tape should be buried in the desert somewhere. I never want to watch that again. Ecstatic we won, though.

Ugly win, is still a win. Yeah, it took a lot of calls going their way, and some VT mishaps.

If you want to go that route. It's just a bowl game. What were they really playing for? It's not the NC. The team doesn't play again until next fall. So, I'll take it.

This is ridiculous...that was a catch (not partial to either team or conference). It has gotten to the point where if the ball touches the ground at any point an in any context it is just automatically ruled incomplete. That is not the rule. In this case he had the ball firmly pinned to his chest as the end of the ball hit the ground and the ground did not knock it loose at all.

Lame.

I like how they pull the "ground helped him secure the ball" routine when the ball did not move.

Plus his elbow hit the ground before the ball did. Cant do anything about it now, it fits with the rest of the game though, we screwed ourselves.
