College Football 2011-2012 Bowls: Every Week is the Playoffs

I didn't see anything but the final kick, but that play you guys are talking about sounds really similar to the call that went against Michigan earlier this year that cost them a win.

Ugly win, is still a win. Yeah, it took a lot of calls going their way, and some VT mishaps.

If you want to go that route. It's just a bowl game. What were they really playing for? It's not the NC. The team doesn't play again until next fall. So, I'll take it.

I'll take it too, and it's great that Hoke got 11 wins in his first season, but I just know that a lot of folks are going to be bringing this game up as some sort of indicator that Michigan is "back to the good ol' days" what with winning a BCS game. It leads to a lot of false posturing about what the team really is, I've seen it happen to plenty of Lions fans in the area just as well and it makes inevitable step backwards all the more annoying.

sample fb feed message: "MICHIGAN FOOTBALL IS BACK"

oh dear

Good post.

Michigan football is not back. It won't be back until DRob graduates IMHO.

I've watched this team the entire season... 11-2 is very misleading, probably one of the most flukish 11-2 seasons ever for a BCS conference team.. DRob= Tim Tebow many times this season.

Saying Michigan football is back. Means that you are secure with the teams future. I for one am not.. As long as DRob is the QB every game is going to be a crapshoot. Michigan needs a real QB, one that doesn't have to rely on schoolyard passes to win the game.

Good season on paper, but there's a lot of work to be done.

Haven't watched any bowl games, but just wanted to say LOLOLOLOL ACC

All the shit thrown about who's conference is crap and doesn't deserve a BCS bid. Guess what? The ACC is now 1-12 in it's last 13 BCS games. Congrats, that's more wins than the Sun Belt, MAC, and C-USA.

11-2.

Sugar Bowl Champs.

That's what's in the books and that's all anyone will remember.

With a 3-9 season still fresh on the brain, I couldn't give a fuck if this was a bad team masquerading as decent one or whatever else the national perception might be.

11-2 is 11-2.

BCS bowl win is BCS bowl win.

Feels good man.

hey hey...GO BLUE.

poor offensive showing, but who cares. I'll be glad when Denard is replaced by a better throwing QB, but I'll enjoy this 11th win as much as any other. Cheers.

Until they find out that VT got rolled twice by Clemson then they'll be like what the fuck went on in 2011. Remember people still refuse to acknowledge or will find anything to excuse Boise State beating Oklahoma.

Yup. Really easy to spot too from one of the camera angles.

Wrong. It was already jammed into his chest...the ball's orientation shifted when the end hit the ground but at no point did it become less or more secure than when he first pinned it to his chest.

Again, I'm incredibly impartial on this matchup but I am sick and tired of refs basically never giving the benefit of the doubt to the person attempting to catch the ball and just blindly ruling 'incomplete' if they see the ball ever touch the ground at all. It is a trend that has gotten worse and worse and is not part of the rule book.

Tunnel 10 so we were looking right into until the 4th - what is this 80 in January bs!

Also Gildon/Harris started 4 games combined this year (or around that many). I'd say we're closer to 15 total. Factor in the amount people we play, it's hard to gauge. Both lines will boost and our WR core will too.

Ouch >_<

We were only nine rows up in section 4 so the sun was gone a little after halftime for us.

Also, I've seen dozens of Oregon fans here in Disneyland but hardly any Wisconsin fans... Seems odd. It was the same case two years ago against Ohio State. The turnout for both teams was great at the game though and other than the wave thing during that leg injury I thought the Wisconsin fans were great.

Fans acting inappropriately while a player's down injured, huh? That must've been awful.

Wasn't THAT big of a deal dude. >_> A minor annoyance for me. A lot of people overreacted though. Keep in mind that we don't have multiple cameras to see how an injured player is doing... From our side of the field it looked like he had a really serious neck or back injury because they had the backboard out and he hadn't moved at all..

Also if you're cleverly asserting to Oregon fans booing "fake" injuries you can take it elsewhere. I, and any REAL fan does not boo an injured player. Thankfully most of the idiots that do stayed home.

I was right by the section. York was on the other end of the field. Was about a 10 minute delay and they were showing it on the replay booth right above too. Two Wisky fans beside me were shaking their heads at the fanbase. They redeemed a little with the Cypress Hill moment.

I think all the B1G people are just taking off.

What I don't get is some of you (cdy, cyan, blumax) are very quick to point out the crap some of our fans do but in turn refuse to be respectful to some fans on here in this thread that are be all means good fans and share the same love of the game as you do. I don't go around telling USC fans that I think their program should be dragged to the ground by sanctions.. And being that I'm in LA, I've had plenty of opportunities. We're fans of the players and their talents, not the people within the programs making poor choices that hurt everyone. Aren't we all? So why the childish attitudes towards fellow football fans? :p

Anyway, /endrant. I guess I just don't like being treated like a bad fan for things I have no control over. >_< gawd it's late. Time to sleep.

Because Oregon fans have easily been the most obnoxious PAC 10 fans over the last few years despite the obvious fact that they've only become good due to Phil Knights shady connection to the university and your team hasn't really won anything worth talking about until this year.

So yeah acting like your shit don't stink when you are arguably the shakiest program in the conference is kind of annoying.

Those shiny chrome helmets aren't gonna pay for themselves, brah.

Anyway anybody who has been a fan of a program for years is not going to suddenly disown it for the reasons you're giving me.

You act like Denard is going to declare himself Führer of Michigan football and never leave. We have one more year of Denard and who knows he might actually improve. Either way Shane Morris is coming!

What a terrible morning to be a Hokie. Michigan was a classy opponent but there is no way I will ever be convinced that the better team won last night. Oh well, time to sit back and hear about how much VT and the ACC suck for another year.

'Twas a catch, by the way.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Piggus, I like your point.

Anyway, I feel the need to report on the Chick Fil A bowl...my first time attending a college football game in a dome. Overall it was strange, even if the seats were more comfortable than traditional bleachers.

I am quite worried about our QB situation next season...hopefully Frazier will develop nicely, because it sounds like Trotter will not be around.

Other than that (granted, crucial) position, we should be pretty solid next season. On to recruiting!

So apparently Dooley wanted to hire Kevin Steele but Hart told him no and we are going to give Randy Shannon 1million/ year for 5 years.

I don't have a problem with you personally. It does get kind of annoying that no one can criticize Oregon's program without being accused of just being bitter losers. But I don't think anyone is initially criticizing the posters themselves...more like they are taking offense when someone bashes the Oregon program, get defensive (calling people bitter, for example), and then the attention gets turned towards the poster. If your fanbase contains a particularly large amount of jackasses, people are going to hate your program. There's not much you're going to be able to do about it.

I get to hear all about how UW sucks everytime I talk to a Wazzu fan, but you just laugh it off (and trash talk from a Coug is very easy to laugh off). It's part of the deal when it comes to college football. You can't take offense to it. All IMO, of course.

Plus, I went to UW, so I hate Oregon.

I was a U-Dub fan. Back when I was a kid in Seattle. So, Don James was the coach I think.

So some tOSU linebacker was mad at the Gators for calling him a cracker the whole game. Said we were classless. At the very least, I'd refer him to the tOSU linebacker punching Tebow under his helmet during the BCSCG. (But the whole thing is stupid, he's mad about losing to a really crappy team.)

Now if anyone deserves to be called a cracker, it's definitely this guy. The scar on his head is from a bar fight in Florida...

Wasn't a bar fight, he was sucker punched in a bar in Florida by a Gata fan. Caused him to have seizures and had to have a metal plate put in his head and missing and entire season due to it. Glad that guy who punched him got his ass thrown in jail.

FYI: he's a safety and not a lb, Tyler moeller, one of the nicest kids you'll ever meet.

Look at those classless SEC fans.

Insulting a linebacker who got assaulted at a bar.

What's next, SEC?

STEALING CANDY FROM A BIG 12 TEAM?

FYI: he's a safety and not a lb, Tyler moeller, one of the nicest kids you'll ever meet.

He might be Ohio nice.

But is he Tebow nice?

Ohio nice might mean you are Hitler in Gatorland.

Was this before or after your Penn State fandom?

Before.

U-Dub Fandom - 1980 - 83 - While I lived in Seattle.

Penn State Indoctrination - 1983 - 1993 - While I lived in State College, and after I moved to Colorado, until I received my acceptance letter from my alma mater.

Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo - 1994 - Present and Future. Unless I have a kid that goes somewhere else, and then I may consider it.

11-2 for Michigan. Thought it would be a while until I saw that. I'm really surprised by some of the comments on here though. Did everyone forget this is college football or something? The difference between a 8 and 10 win team is usually a couple fluky plays. Michigan played like shit and won but let's not pretend like this doesn't happen all time in college football.

I guess I just don't like being treated like a bad fan for things I have no control over.

You realize this is 90% of the point of this thread, right? You won't like the offseason thread much if you expect it to get better.

Without football, this place becomes a seething ball of hate.

I am glad the guy got a felony and it's awesome Moeller was able to make it back to the field. Takes some serious guts. Hopefully a bit of time in federal "pound me in the ass" prison will give the other guy some perspective. Redneck roidheads are the worst. The other article said Moeller was a LB and just said bar fight in Florida and I obviously did no further research.

But still, mad about being called a cracker? I'm sure all the tOSU players had nice things to say to the Gators and invited the them over for tea and crumpets later. He's also a filthy liar, because he said we were a good team. :jnc
