All you globetrotters. I have been as far north as San Francisco, as far east as Phoenix Arizona and as far south as Tijuana(Gudalajara as a child once). I really gotta get around more.

Again, I must urge you to visit Guadalajara. If you ever go and want info on places to visit, thins to do, where to eat, etc, i'm your gal!

What do you mean you were "exiled" - like all your friends removed you or something?

No. I deactivated my account.

So her account, she didn't have to do a relationship change...

She was very into FB politics...

I didn't really get anything out of facebook. So I opted to take off. I think it goes by whoever has the most friends stays.

I only use my facebook to 'like' and comment on my fiancee's posts. It seems rather redundant since we are usually sitting next to one another but whatever.

Sounds like my ex has moved on already... and engaged... strumpet. Congrats marrec.

I've really stopped going on facebook for the most part. My friends and I still create events and groups on it and I'll go on whenever there's a notification but it's like once a week/two weeks thing at the most. I feel like I should go on a bit more or risk becoming too hermit-like.

As far as Japan goes, I'm sad that I only got to go for two weeks. Would love to go for a month or two. Don't think I could actually live there. There's something so weird about sticking out all the time.

My brother has been living there for about 6 years but I'm definitely open for suggestions. I should be going this year sometime. I haven't seen him in about 5 years and he's getting upset with me not paying him a visit yet.

That... is really bizarre. Not really sure what else to say.

Call me crazy, but if the guy in your avatar is you, I think I've actually seen you (on the street or something, not talked to). I've been living in Osaka for the last (almost) 6 years. I'm moving to Fukuoka in three days, though :/

I used to live (some 5 years ago) near the Umeda Sky Building, but I think if I saw you, it was earlier.

Oh well :P

Haha, really?

I lived in Osaka from September 2008 to April 2010, but I was out there visiting a friend once almost every month in the years prior.

I went to the International Beer Summit at the Umeda Sky Building in 2007 so maybe you saw me there?

As a 6'5" white guy I stood out like Godzilla over there so I wasn't hard to miss!

Facebook is a godsend when you're living in a dorm or a closely knit community.

When everyone has grown up and moved away, though, it kind of exists as a timeline of the mistakes and bad situations you've been involved with in your life.

Oh hey, there's that girl who decided that distance was too hard, but I couldn't say no when she asked to stay friends because I still had feelings for her.

There's my old best friend and the woman he's been dating for three years that he at one time encouraged me to pursue.

There's the girl that sat me with me at 4AM in front of a fountain and put on the engagement ring I gave her and next to her is her new boyfriend that's taller and better looking than me.

You don't need to accept everyone. I remove people left and right and anyone I have a not so good history with will never be on there.

Every month I go through my Facebook friends list and delete anyone I haven't either talked to in that month or read something interesting by in that month.

I had fewer than 80 friends until people from work started adding me.

I was planning to do a motorcycle tour of Mexico, but plans got side-tracked after I lost the bike.

Also, ADVrider is addictive, sometimes even more so than gaf.

If you ever get the chance to, DO EET.

I was super fortunate enough to ride along in a chase vehicle for the Baja 1000 in 04, seeing those dudes on their bikes (and trucks, and buggies) was one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. Had a few close calls in the van, can't imagine how those dudes handle all that adrenaline

You need to be brutal with your friends list. If you don't want them there, get rid of them.

It's Dexter time, you crazy people. I'm sure that when I pop back in next you'll all be debating the finer point of metallurgy or something insane (like badgers). I look forward to your collective madness/impulse posts. ^_^

I'm sure I'm not the only one that catches up on what I missed when I come back.

Holy Shit, that's awesome.
I would love to do the Baja or the Dakar.

Only people I keep on there and unsubscribe to are annoying relatives who actually get offended if I remove them. I care for these people but I don't need to read their posts. So I don't.

I have a FB account because my family is spread out and not literate enough to switch to G+ . I find myself using Google more but a lot of people in my circles are pretentious assholes. Both accounts can be found quite easily for detective-gaf

Actually, I just saw BBC's badger doco series, Secrets of the Sett. Great stuff.

I was part of a Chase team and one of the pit members in 03. Go figure

+1 unsubscriber here. I keep a lot of the people I have on facebook because they do provide some entertainment.

I used to get offended if people removed me. Not anymore. FB drama is for the birds.

And speaking of Badgers, anyone watch the Rose Bowl? The Ducks took it to them in the 4th.

SHUT UP! how awesome! which team were you chasing?? How hard do you party when you finally got to La Paz? My god, i was so happy to finally be out of the car. And how crazy was that crowd in Ensenada, best memories of my life

I had been off facebook for about a month after some troubling news... I reactivated on new year's day. shrug...

All right, I'm tired of my old avatar so I'll use this one until I get my hair cut.

I was part of a small team called LocoBroncos which consisted of two 1968 Ford Broncos that were heavily modified. I actually never made it down to La Paz as the year I did it, the course looped back towards ensanada. I did all my partying for three nights before the race and got to spend a night in jail after attempting to save someone from what I perceived as getting raped. Turns out they were just fighting. Anyway, my big American ass got locked up for interfering but made bail the next morning with a crisp $10 bill.

On the way back from setting up provisions at the pit stops, my buddy and I got stopped by federales. He was able to get past by offering one guy what he thought would be a race sticker. What it actually was was a sticker that read "don't be a dick"

Good times

whats a chase team..? Google didn't help me.
In the Baja 1000 race, the drivers need supplies or repairs at each waypoint set up along the course. A Chase team beats the drivers to each point and prepares for their arrival to resupply, refuel or repair the race vehicle

I am genuinely surprised that there is someone you hated.

You seemed too up-beat and nice for that!

You gotta be pretty bad to make me hate you D<
He was just a kid that made a fool of my friend, and after I got involved he made me seem like some instigator. But whatever, high school drama ;/

Come to Girl-Age. The first thing we'd have told you to do was delete your old flames. Out of sight, out of mind.

Deactivated my Facebook account altogether, a few weeks ago, and it feels oddly refreshing. I've found that I'm actually speaking more with and/or getting actual face time with the people close to me now in its absence. This isn't meant to come off as self-righteous or holier-than-thou in the slightest. It's been nice is all I'm saying. I've really moved on to things like LinkedIn and twitter in terms of (professional) social networking.

Ashes looks just like a childhood crush of mine. Aside from that, no one looks even remotely similar.

The weird thing is that you remind me of someone I know...I think...but I can't figure it out. It's kind of driving me nuts.
