I was part of a small team called LocoBroncos which consisted of two 1968 Ford Broncos that were heavily modified. I actually never made it down to La Paz as the year I did it, the course looped back towards ensanada. I did all my partying for three nights before the race and got to spend a night in jail after attempting to save someone from what I perceived as getting raped. Turns out they were just fighting. Anyway, my big American ass got locked up for interfering but made bail the next morning with a crisp $10 bill.

On the way back from setting up provisions at the pit stops, my buddy and I got stopped by federales. He was able to get past by offering one guy what he thought would be a race sticker. What it actually was was a sticker that read "don't be a dick"

Damn, you had quite the trip! I was tagging along with my man who was shooting for the show "rides". They were following the Terrible Herbst team, and those dudes had money coming out their pores. Their vehicles were so dialed in, it was amazing to see them in action.

We also got stopped by the federales, i think everyone does. We bought them off with a caguama of Corona and some Terrible Herbst tshirts.

I remember the second night of straight driving we narrowly missed a cow in the road while going 90 mph. Shit was insanely scary. We also all started tripping balls because someone forgot a gas can under the back seat and we'd been unknowingly huffing gas for 12 hours.

And then there was the 'trying to pee in a fast moving vehicle on dirt roads' debacle.

Yes, those were the days.

Ha! Awesome. I only gave you the tip of the iceberg for my stories that I have from down there. It was definitely an experience. For the record, Jesse James is a douche but Robbie Gordon is a really cool guy. Two names I can drop from my time down there.

Haha. It's 11:30 here and I have to get up for work in 6 hours. I will consider that for another day when I'm not in bed typing on my phone. =p
