Clemson...come on now. Wow.

That said, the Tigers can score very quickly (not necessarily against us) so it can still be an interesting game in the 2nd half.

Clemson has just imploded. And I'm in the WVU section. This is a little weird. They said they're going to "brother me up." Should I be scared?

I'm colored, btw.

Why do people identify with their conference?

FSU won their bowl game and that is all I care about. I don't give two shits if Clemson or Virginia Tech or NC State win or lose.

A strong ACC would help FSU get into the MNC game over a school from a weaker conference. See: Bama over OSU this year

Plus, it's fun to have a team to root for in bowl games. :) I don't really give a shit though. Fuck Clemson.

If FSU doesn't make it into an NC game, it is our own damn fault somewhere. Partly because our OOC schedule is usually solid.

Yep. and again, it works to increase your rank in the human polls resulting in the chance of getting into bigger, better bowl games where you can play better opponents and make more MONEY.

And of course, the more shine you get in better bowl games, the better recruits you can convert.

So yea, there are a ton of reasons to want to see top-to-bottom success from your conference members. Though for me, I simply like to see B1G teams succeed outside the conference just because.

But the Big 10 performing well this bowl season isn't actually going to change anything at all when it comes to perception. I mean, sure, if the ACC became equivalent to the Mac or Sun Belt, that would be bad for all the teams in the conference. But conference perception seems surprisingly static and independent of the actual performance of that conference from year to year.

It would if it was consistent success year to year, I think.

Can we please have one bowl game that doesn't feature either shitty defenses or shitty field goal kickers?

Just one? Please?

I will seriously LOL if Steele is announced as UT's new DC later this week.

The scary thing is that it's a very strong possibility.
