Sounds just like Code Geass. No wonder it's so popular. But Penguindrum is at least watchable, Bakemono is like an exercise in how long you can take being bombarded by a litany of stupid.
You are already 7th.I've never watched that sakuga presentation, but I do watch MAD's and junk often because I like pretty lights and people beating the shit out of each other. Sometimes name recognition bleeds through and I recognize a name here and there.

I can attest that watching that sakuga presentation changed my life. Or at least the way I look at anime. I've begun noticing and appreciating excellent moments of animation, watching the monthly sakuga videos, noticing the styles of individual episode directors and key animators, and caring a lot more about the staff behind the shows I watch. In general, I'd say my time in Anime-GAF has made me a more critical and discerning viewer, not just with anime but with film in general, so I'm glad I've spent the time here that I have.
Hey now, it's not stupid all the time. Sometimes the characters have to shut up for fanservice to happen or a fight scene!
Sakuga.
(Surgeon General's Warning: Watching this video series all the way through might turn you into 7th.)
You are already 7th.
I was told to expect lolis and I got lolis.
Eh. I guess that's a reasonable outcome.
In spite of my better judgment, I do enjoy the show. I can't wait to see the one time where the animation isn't just panning & zooming across tits and ass, though!
There are two kinds of people in this world.
Team Taichi . . . and Team Wrong.

There needs to be guide that highlights these kinds of things, you know so that you get the most out of it.
What happen to the third team Team Harada sensei.
I already noticed moments of great animation beforehand not I can, unfortunately, see where it's much more limited and stuff. Such are the trade-offs for being discerning!
It's not always ugly. Sometimes they hire an animator for 30 seconds.
Sounds just like Code Geass. No wonder it's so popular.
Haha, one can be your cup of tea more than the other but lets not pretend that MPD was any less "stupid" than Bakemonogatari. But Penguindrum is at least watchable, Bakemono is like an exercise in how long you can take being bombarded by a litany of stupid.
Aww.. well, at least I have more Chihayafuru to watch.
YOU
NODAME
NOW
Trainwrecks are always fun to watch, especially the never-ending ones!Since when were we a spectator sport?
Haha, one can be your cup of tea more than the other but lets not pretend that MPD was any less "stupid" than Bakemonogatari.
Well, the latter leads to the former. It's never ugly. Barring some off reference frames, Bakemono's characters (and really, there's nothing but characters) are consistent all the way through. I like the art style used for the character designs, and so I enjoyed watching it, even if it was just a lot of stills and closeups.
Oh yeah, god, the movie. I'm pretty sure Adolescence Apocalypse is less straightforward than MPD.
So pretty much the usual ShaftI'd chalk it up to there being different kinds of stupid myself, Bakemono is the really boring, ineffective, ugly, pseudo-meta kind. Penguindrum is the "I don't know or care what is happening but at least it's a thing sometimes and is also occasionally funny" kind.
That's fair enough.I'd chalk it up to there being different kinds of stupid myself, Bakemono is the really boring, ineffective, ugly, pseudo-meta kind. Penguindrum is the "I don't know or care what is happening but at least it's a thing sometimes and is also occasionally funny" kind.
If you want to have good writing you can go read a book. A good cartoon can rely on just having great animation to be entertaining. Now, I think you have to have an animation > writing argument before that can happen.
Yeah, and then it's right back to naked girls clasping their breasts etc.
Well, the latter leads to the former.
I like it too, including the random wacky shit they thrown in.
But Nonoriri (aka pizzaroll aka 7Th) has to have his fun ya know.

Although I admit a youtube video of all the actually animated scenes in Bake would barely touch the 30 second mark.
It's summer all over again.Trainwrecks are always fun to watch, especially the never-ending ones!
It's a cool movie. I also love the music in that scene where Shiori turns into a...moth. I think it's a moth.
I still don't really understand why there's so much freaking Shiori in it in the first place however.
He was saying a lot of stills and closeups will lead to consistency and seldom off frames i.e. Uta-Pri.Wait, are you saying stills are inherently ugly?
So pretty much the usual Shaft

You guys shouldwatch Tsukikage Ran andNeither is related to the other of course except that they make me a contented thing.Riding Bean.
I never watched Kemonozume.Kemonozume: Not ugly, consistently "stylized"
Bakemono: Ugly, inconsistently "stylized"
Well, either you'll like Zeta Gundam, or you wont, but either way it's something you've already watched. I generally feel that it's better to see new stuff then just watching stuff that I'm already familiar with.
Bakemonogatari 9
Well that wasn't creepy at all!
Wow, you both arrived at the snake-arc together. How unfortunate for both of you. I'd like to state that that, while some of the fanservice from that arc was present in the original TV airing they went above and beyond for the disc release in ways that are even more objectionable than usual!Bakemonogatari 9

Araragi, always looking out for the ladies.

I think somebody posted this before and it was awful enough the first time I watched it.
It's Phi Brain's equivalent of Bake's commentary tracks.
That reminds me, I think someone started work on them although it may have all been a joke.
Do you think others take a glance at animeGAF and flee in absolute terror?
Yes, do watch em. Better than Nadeko's arc at least. And you get to see a whole new Hanekawa. In a good way, of course.
It was Yoiko-level disturbing seeing Nadeko writhe around like that, but somehow I powered past that. I feel like I left whatever remained of my innocence behind though.
I never watched Kemonozume.
I'm not sure what you mean by inconsistently "stylized". Do you mean this?
(Spoilers for icarus, kind of, sorta, not really)
Chihayafuru - 13
Another quality episode - reassuring that at least one show will stay consistently good.
You can already hear the bells ringing for Taichi's romantic funeral. The "problem" with having decent characterization is that there aren't these one-dimensional shoujo love interest douchebags that you can root against . . . fucking Arata, why you gotta be so sympathetic?
About as close as Taichi will get to Ayase at this point. When she's unconscious.

You know, even though I loved Honey and Clover I never really explored Nodame. Does that make me a bad person?
Oh god. This is setting off all the wrong type of alarms.
The type where it seems like Taichi will win over Chihaya.nooooo
Still confused.I should note that I mean Bakemono is inconsistent in the execution of its own established "model" so to speak, as if it is internally weaker and weaker the more I continued to watch it.
Well I discovered Bakemonogatari through Jason's blog. While I still enjoyed Senjougahara's T&A, I feel like my foreknowledge robbed me of some shock value (which is pretty important to Bake, since it has little else going for it).I like the idea that you can spoil a cat-girl in pyjamas going 'nya!', but I suppose, technically, you can. Just like anything else.
Oh, I forgot. Bakemono's not just about the tit, ass, and panty shots; there are also weird inexplicable zooms on people's nostrils too.
Don't worry that'll never happen.
