So can someone answer my question about how to get an avatar quote?

You mean why is it done? Usually when the poster's avatar matches their post to an excessive degree. Doesn't work that well for RP-gaf.

It's not really done anymore though. It's one of those things that can get you banned if you're a dope about it.

edit: Here's a stupid example, if I were to post NO over and over to something and I had my normal avatar on, who has a post-it with the word 'no' written on it stamped on his head, that might garner an avatar quote.

Haha okay. I was wondering why some peoples were a lot better than others and why some more infamous people are still Junior Members or Junior Junior Members haha.

Getting perma-junior'd is worse than a bad tag, imho, since it actually impacts your ability to post and is rarely lifted.

Junior Member isn't really a tag though. It's just what happens if you start too many stupid threads. You get junior'd so you can still post but lose your thread starting privileges.

Junior Junior Member is a tag.

Junior Junior Member is a tag.

Wasn't blame space a junior junior member for a while? Also, did he get permabanned?

They're called tags. Moderators create them at their discretion.

Sometimes people get them for being especially irrational or inane; those are the bad ones. Sometimes people get them for being especially interesting or funny; those are the good ones.

Somtimes people who create particularly bad OPs are permanently given junior status to prevent them from creating more. "Junior Junior" status is actually a custom tag like all the others. It is not an official designation like "Member" or "Junior Member." Just as Wario64's tag is "Banned (lol)."

Again, that's a custom tag, and no. He'll be back soon enough.

Oh ok thanks for clarifying. I always noticed some users had tags and others didn't, with all of them having varying degrees of posts and join dates so I didn't know if it was something you got at a certain point or what. It seems like there are a lot of things about GAF that I just kind of pickup along the way the more I lurk.

You look like that really cool vampire from True Blood.

My opinion of you has rocketed from 9/10 to 11/10 cause of the bingo thread so I can't really raise it any higher...* :P

and thus ends the last time I judge people via their looks. Although tbh it was more the post than the avatar... does anybody else see any other mods in this thread?

@above@ :0 !!! You take that back. Brainy is new the sexy. I saw it in the latest Sherlock episode.

*I suppose you being depressingly realistic realize that the only way forward is - realistically - downwards...VVVVV

Hear that, guys? Time for more cat pictures.

In the blue corner - weighing in at 22lbs, age 6 with a 14 inch reach, fighting out of Bunker Hill West Virginia... Sumo!

In the red corner - weighing in at a scant 9lbs, age 10 months with a 8 inch reach, fighting out of Chino Valley Arizona... Indy!

It was an epic brawl. Both cats came out with tufts of the other's hair sticking out of their mouths. After a brief reprieve, while Sumo decided to resign to his favorite blanket, Indy sky tackled him by leaping headlong 6 feet in the air off of the ottoman and directly onto Sumo's back, where this picture was taken.

Haha oh man my cat does that all the time. We got a new kitten named Izzie, and she's insane. She will sneak attack all the other cats and then they smack the shit out of her and she runs away, only to sneak attack again moments later. That cat is crazy.

Anyone know if street cats can ever be tamed to become house cats? I've tried taking in this one cat a few times but every time it's belly is feed it just runs off

Almost all of our cats started off wild. They come and go as they please but they always stay close by and they're definitely our cats. I think it just takes some time for them to get used to you and being inside.

I'm not really big on pets. I went away for Xmas and when I came back, my house-mate's cat had left me the remains of a mouse underneath my bed as a Christmas present.

I can't get rid of the smell. :(

I'm far from a cat expert, but I lived with a couple for a month once that had a cat do the exact same thing. Had been doing it for years, they had quite a few cats where only a few were their own, they could come in through their garage and it would come in and eat and most of a few would stick around, but this one cat didn't like getting touched at all and usually ran away quickly again when it had gotten food, they said it had been doing it for years and never really got used to them no matter what they did.

Honestly? It can happen, but they'll likely be jumpy all their life and will only remain attached to you and your immediate family.

But that said, occasionally you'll get a wild cat that's incredibly tame, even from the age of kitten.

Growing up, we had a hole in our shed and mother cats would come in, have kids, and sometimes leave or get hit by a car. I think there was a 70% ratio that the kittens would be wild or tame. I wonder if timidity is a heriditary trait. So when they were wild we usually let them come and go, but if they were tame we gave them to friends or shelters or took them in ourselves.

Once cats get a taste for the outside, they will always want to return. I have two inside cats who've never stepped foot outside and they'll just stare quizzically out the door when its open but make no attempt to go outside.

I feel its better that way. Less chance of them getting sick, hurt or killed.
