pray tell me what radio station you listen to? i listen to the score on my morning and afternoon commutes and i've never heard such nonsense. i don't think i've heard anyone defend jamarcus trash.
ESPN 1000. It was actually Sunday right before the games. Interview with Lovie. Exact line was:
Fattie: "This offensive line has really come on of late. Webb has held his own."
Lovie: "That's right. We're very pleased with how the offensive line has gelled as of late."

I nearly ran into a tree when I heard this.

Nice article on Elway and Tebow. The last 3 games , Tebow was 30/76 for 146 yards. Ouch!

"That's human nature, especially when you're young, to become more cautious," Elway recently told the Denver Post. "He had a tough week before against Buffalo. The key thing for (Tebow) is to go out, put everything behind him, go through his progressions and pull the trigger.

"When you get into these playoff situations, he's a good enough athlete to pull the trigger. He's obviously upset with last week. He's already got an edge to him, so he's ready to go. I like seeing the edge. Oh, yeah. I actually love it. I have full confidence he'll bounce back and have a good week."
.......................

"They're really good," Tebow said of the Steelers' defense. "They have a great scheme, and some of the best players at their positions in the league. You have guys like Troy Polamalu, [LB] James Harrison, [LB LaMarr] Woodley, and all those guys have played a lot of football. They know what they're doing. They've played fast. They've seen every play a bunch of times. So, it's exciting. They're coached by a great defensive coordinator, Coach LeBeau. It's going to be exciting."

Either way it goes, "exciting" is one thing the game will be. The question is whether Tebow is ready to pull the trigger without shooting himself in the foot.

Surprising considering the prices.

Chicago sports fans in general are the most irrational I've ever encounter in my life.

Boozer plays terribly and gives up on a play. -> "That Boozer is a real gamer!"
J'Marcus Webb allows his 92nd sack of the season -> "Webb has really come on of late. This offensive line gets better and better every week!*"

*I actually heard this on sports radio three nights ago.
Chicage fans on GAF hate both Boozer and Webb (and Stacey King and Neil Funk).

When Boozer had a good game like 3 days ago, we were joking that somebody else must have been wearing his number.

:jnc

Year in and year out, you're the most deranged and nonsensical Bears fan on GAF. I love that it's you that come to the defense of Chicago fans!

why because i've been championing for the front office to get rid of Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith? nothing deranged or nonsensical about that. the writing has been on the wall for these retards for the past 2 or 3 seasons, and now I've got to suffer at least another year or 2 of this half wit coach.

and for -Talon
ESPN1000 is terrible. Their programming is bad. Mike and Mike in the morning is the most limp dicked show on earth. Waddle and Silvy are passable. Mac, Jurko, and Harry are an abomination to the ears, I'm not sure how anyone listens to those buffoons.

Boers & BernSTEIN ftw.

He hit two mid range jumpers in a row yesterday.

Only thing I could think of is that he was gonna brick the next 5.

I'm not talking about shitty fans on this board (I'm definitely the most obnoxious!) I'm talking about in the scary real world. Going to Bengals games I see the fucking dregs of society. Cincinnati fans are fuck-awful (my wife, a Bengals fan, says there is no worse group of people on the planet), Pittsburgh fans that go to the games in Ohio are almost as bad, and Cleveland fans somehow are even worse.

I have more teeth than all of them combined, and I'm a hillbilly from Wississippi.

Buffalo fans will forever be the worst fans I have ever encountered. When you get a tampon thrown on you for being a fan of the opposing team it really says something.

And despite what some will say I found the Detroit fans to be really great. Lighthearted chirps and at worst just had a security guard that jokingly wouldn't tell my friend the directions to the bus because she was dressed in head to toe Packers gear.

They're not throwing stuff anymore, nowadays they run onto the field and kick them.

Goalkeeper got a red card for it. lol

He was wearing a diaper?

My roommate told me about this. I think the coach pulled the team from the field after the goalie got the red card...So the game ended right there.

Yeah he pulled the team, really smart because his team was down 1-0 and now they will play the complete game again 0-0.

So just run onto the field when your team is down, kick Ben Roefiesburger and the score will we tied at 0-0 again.

The Minnesota Vikings spent the 12th overall pick in last year’s NFL draft on Christian Ponder with the idea that he’s going to be their franchise quarterback for years to come, and nothing that happened in Ponder’s rookie season will change that.

Rick Spielman, who was recently promoted to General Manager of the Vikings, confirmed on today’s PFT Live that the Vikings still view Ponder as their No. 1 quarterback.

“He’s going to be our starting quarterback when everyone is back for OTAs,” Spielman said of Ponder.

That matches what Ponder said on today’s Dan Patrick Show: He’s been assured that the Vikings will use the third overall pick in the NFL draft on a position other than quarterback.

“I talked to our G.M. yesterday, and we had some conversations about who we’re thinking about drafting, and we’ll see,” Ponder said. “I kind of have an idea.”

Although Jaguars owner Shahid Kahn said he wants to connect with the fans, he endorsed the two people in the organization who have been targets of the fans' criticism this season: quarterback Blaine Gabbert and general manager Gene Smith.

"I think he [Gabbert] is going to be a great quarterback. I think he is our franchise quarterback. I think he needs development. We want to develop him. We want to give him tools. A dedicated coach. And I think he's going to be great."

He also made it sound as if he's already interviewed several coaching candidates, and they all backed Gabbert.

"I think a key question you have to ask any potential coach, what are you going to do to develop him? How do you make him the best he can be? Really, I've been asking them point blank, 'Can you work with him?' And so far everybody says he's great," he said.

I would definitely get some OL help first thing. Kind of hard to throw over a leaping DL/LB in your face every down. Then you can judge Gabbert in his second year. He does need a lot of development though.
I've talked to Mizzou fans about him, and they don't see why he was taken so early. One coworker's convinced that it's because he just has the build of a prototypical QB.

http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans/2012/01/expect-greatness-from-andre-johnson-on-saturday/#1569-2

Johnson laments not getting that second game he wanted, but man, let me tell you, he will be jacked up on Saturday. I’ve gotten wide-eyed reports from defensive backs on what he has done to them in practice. Unstoppable.

And Yates has looked great in practice this week. Apparently, yesterday, the ball didn’t hit the ground during the Texans’ workout.

Will Cincinnati go more zone than man to try to take away Johnson? Or will they do what they like to do and risk Johnson going nuts?

I don’t think it matters much. Generally, you can’t stop greatness. He will get his.

Johnson said he won’t demand the ball, but as he said, “T.J. knows where I’m at.”

“I’ll definitely know where 80 is the entire game,” Yatres said. “Andre is not that type of guy. He won’t even say much no matter what, but he’s definitely someone I’ll be looking for in that game to throw to.”

Dre going to beast it up on Saturday. Remember he didnt play in the game against the Begals 4 weeks ago. Numerous reports like this coming from local media saying he is ready to go full blown domination mode.

What?! Tj yates with no incompletions in practice?! Stamp the texans ticket to the superbowl!!@@@
Statements like those feel a lot like the time they told us he picked up the playbook in a heartbeat because he had been locked in all year. Last I checked, our playbook doesn't have a whole lot of plays where we play action to nobody...

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to be there yelling my face off
and there's some talk of us building a TJ Yates statue out of beer cans at the tailgate
, but I'm taking "reports" like those with a heavy grain of salt.

The fact that Dre is back makes a ton of difference. No one takes Walter, Jones or any of the other WR's we have seriously. Dre demands respect which in turn fress the other, less talented receivers get open. Look at the games TJ played good in and Dre was there. He has bombed the Panthers/Colts game with no Andre.

Cant wait for the divisional round when Alex Smith returns to being Alex Smith. FMT wont ruin this for me. With a healthy Schaub, Mario and Dre the Texans are the best team in the AFC and light years ahead of the Niners.

I'm hoping the Bengals beat the Texans. I'd rather the Patriots only have to play either the Ravens or Steelers, not both.

I don't see how you can come to that conclusion, but then again I've watched like .5 Texans games this year so I know jack shit about them. I do wish Jake Delhomme would have gotten the playoff start for the LOLs though.

Lolol your team is overrated and is only in the playoffs because peypey was hurt. That isnt opinion, thats a fact. You can play the what if game all you like if it makes you feel better tho!

Warren Sapp, Willie McGinest, Jamie Dukes, and.........Jalen Rose?
I don't even need to watch it to know that Sapp picks against us. Dukes probably swings off of our nuts. Just going by history...

The AFC South was a big joke this year. The Titans, the only other legitimate team, weren't very good. And you had two horrific teams at the bottom of the division.

Niners have faced more playoff teams than the texans and have a better record. Niners have the most complete team in the playoffs. Thats just how it is. Will we win the superbowl? Only tebow knows that but the texans will be lucky to get out of the wildcard round

I'm glad you are willing to admit the Packers are better than the Niners.

actually idiot, if the colts had peyton and lets just say they won 12 games and the division(which is unlikley in the first place given their severe lack of talent and the fact they only won 10 games last year) the texans still finish 10 and 6 and get the last wildcard.

How far would your team go if they lost their best defensive player for the season, best WR for 9 games, best running back for 3.5 games and backup running back for a couple of games, and oh by the way were down to their third string QB, would your coach be the first ever player coach QB? everyone knows he still would rather be a player than a coach.

once again, just like the other day when you started talking shit about how the 9ers "broke" arian foster, you prove you don't know shit about anything unrelated to your own team.

if the titans were the only legitimate team how come the Texans destroyed them on the road 41 to 7? Michael lombardi, is that you?

Didnt the Niners go 1-2 without Willis?

Seahawks and Cardinals were legit playoff contenders towards the end of the season. Certainly better than Jags/Colts.

Yeah striving for 8-8....quality wins right there. The Colts are laughable and losing to them is embarrassing. The Jags though had a very good defense just their offense was like watching a monkey trying to fuck a football other than MJD. I just dont unerstand how a fan of team who has been the doormat of the NFC for the past decade after so many years of greatness can talk so much damn shit about a team that has been in existence for 10 years total. Perspective.....

I read this thread more than I post in it, although I have been known to pipe up from time to time.

Also, the Saints would be the lock of the week if the Broncos weren't in the playoffs. The Steelers and the Saints this week are the closest you're going to get to a sure thing in the NFL.

I like NYG and Cincy in the other two, but I don't have a strong feeling about either of those picks.

Nope, texans would have lost an additional game against the colts and would have been demoralized. Niners have already won without our best wr (out for year), pwill missing a quarter of the season and gore consistently hurt. No excuses.

And pwill took foster out. Thats just what happened! He played against us, got hurt, and mussed 4 or 5 weeks! Case closed!

Nope! 3-1

Every couple of years or so I read about Freddie Mitchell being a 1st round pick and I'm always shocked...
