I guesS I'm blind drunk and stupid then. whatever.

I like this place better when it is posting cute things.

Being critical of things makes it more rewarding when you watch something that's actually good!

I dont think this is true at all.
I enjoy bad shows as much as I enjoy the good ones.

Honestly I really think you guys take a lot of the fun out of watching this stuff.
Kind of how like gaming side has taken al ot of the fun out of videogames. I dont really understand it. Maybe I just see things more simply. Its hard to enjoy anything when youre nitpicking it all the time.

When I first watched NTHT I didnt even notice any of these supposed glaring errors or story problems or anything. I just saw a story about a kid who gets caught in a fucked up warzone led by a warlord who is crazy like hitler. In that sense I really enjoyed it. I also watched it dubbed, so thats probably why I didnt notice the error posted above.

I love cajun salt on my anime roasts.

This is literally the first forum I have ever seen that doesnt like NTHT.

Well, we aren't a uniform people and we certainly enjoy criticising shows we don't like. There aren't any sacred cows, as it were.

I mean, personally, I really like that show. It's all the way up there in my 'important anime' section. Yet, that doesn't mean I haven't ready criticism of the show before and neither does it make Hitokage's points (which exist somewhere under the analogies) any less reasonable. Seeing and understanding a works flaws can even help you understand why you like it, because you have to look past certain things to enjoy it.

I wish this place had more people like Cajun.

I think the one thing that gets lost here is that there is a difference between your opinion and the facts.

Like it is your opinion that Yuasa may suck but it is a fact that if you have this opinion you have poor taste.

Everybody should stop trying to make anime unfun.

Well if its still seen as a good show then I guess thats fine, because I really think it is. His posts made it seem like it was just blasting the show, which seemed wrong. Im sorry if I seem defensive of that show but I reallyl ike it a lot.
It would be like nitpicking Haibane Renmei, which bothers the fuck out of me too.

I disagree; because part of the fun of watching anime and then discussing it on a community like this - is expressing your shitty opinion, a valid piece of criticism, insulting the person for having shitty taste etc.

The forum doesnt need more than one Cajun. I can offer my hnnnngh point of view but if everybody did that it wouldnt work. It would just be like...other anime boardS I guess.

Fate/Zero 7:
Manly characters doing manly things. Rider continues to be a boss, and Caster is just becoming more fascinating to watch each and every time he shows up. Kiritsugu got some good development this episode, after having been one of the more mysterious and aloof characters. I just wish each episode was as long as the first one so there was more time for every character to get the screen time they deserve.

I dunno, I think I found the scene Hitokage is talking about and comparing it to Yami is a real stretch. There are some cuts with strange spatial displacement but you can at least understand why they did it and it's not inconceivable that characters moved offscreen or that the cuts disguise the passing of short amounts of time.

I don't mean to say it's on the same level of pervasive terribleness as Yami (yet), but rather it was exhibiting the same sort of cinematic experimentation as Yami.

Yeah, but there's a big difference between doing things for a reason and doing things because the director is drunk and/or on drugs.

Agreed, yuasa being good isn't a fact; it's scientifically proven to be true.

I would agree with this.
One the cat soup DVD commentary he said he wanted the animators to draw a bird with the sky in it and all the animators arel ike WTF? Yuasa is my hero.

Also, if NTHT is like Yami at all then I need to check out Yami.

It's nothing like Yami.

I don't necessarily know about that, considering how much episode one dragged. For the most part I think they've got the pacing down to the point where each episode feels significant and it always feels like something is happening.

Recorder to Randoseru - 01

So what pissed me off about this.

Was it the Kugiloli? No.
Was it Aya Hirano? No.
Was it the 30 year old looking 10 year old? Nope.

It was a 5 second Morita-san cameo undoing all of Hnngazawa's goodwill for 26 weeks and a cg car that actually looked good, but looked out of place among all this hand drawn nonesense.

I'm so desensitised. T_T

No seriously what was Morita-san doing in this shitty short!?

Well, I really liked the first episode, even though there wasn't a whole lot of action in it. I do think the show is very well paced, but I also feel like the cast is so strong that I just love to see more of each character. I feel like more time would allow more scenes like the conversation between Gilgamesh and Kirei and other moments like that.

I can't tell if we're discussing the original live action version or the anime!
Where do you think you are, Jexhius? I know we can sometimes come across as the nastiest film snobs out there, but hey, it's the anime thread. :P

The only thing I remember about it, is it's use of "I can't stop loving you" which is a really awe-inspiring sequence, worth watching just for that!
Oh good lord this. My heart stopped that scene. I still get chills listening to that song even twelve years after having seen it for the first time...

It would be very difficult to undo Hnnngzawa's goodwill. Very difficult indeed.

The original 4koma is published in the same magazine as Morita; this adaptation is being done by the same studio that did Morita's; both air in the same time slot.

Mirai Nikki 12

Interesting ending. I kind of feel that opportunities are missed to show what is going on with all the other diary owners. The show fixates on the 2 main characters, it would be nice to get a broader view of what is happening.

Special A - 1

Why do the characters look like french fries? I can't tell from the first episode if this will have a decent payoff in the later episodes. Is it worth watching GAF?

I kind of feel like Fate/Zero is dragging its feet when it comes to anything actually happening in relation to the Grail.
Some real thick plot armor on pretty much everyone except nameless grade schoolers.

Did you watch Touka Gettan? It's a bit like that. Except it's not wacky chronologically, it's just almost staggeringly incoherent. And has more lesbianism.

I only remember Yumiko was hot (that Asa voice) and they finally explained why she was as messed up in the head as she is. Outside of that a whole of bunch of stuff happens that is so irrelevant to the overall story that they let the voice actresses write 3 of the episodes.

Between Yami and Touka, I retract some of my earlier statements regarding Shuffle. At least that series was fairly cohesive.

Cool, because I can't marathon Sailor Moon. It almost hurts sometimes... its good, but I'm only on ep 10 and my body simply can't take it.

Fate/Zero - 11 (uncut)

Just as enjoyable to watch the second time around. Saber getting told (now with additional amount of TOLD and BEING TOLD and GETTING TOLD) will never get old.

The added conversation between Kirei and Tokiomi
where the latter orders the attack on the 'banquet'
is something I wish they'd left in with the original broadcast - feels like some parts from the banquet itself could have been cut to make room for it. I just think it makes some of the events clearer, stuff that we'd speculated and assumed about up until this point.

Definitely worth watching for the fat/ero fan.
