I'm boycotting a tie today. I have to dress up every single day at work except Friday and I have to wear a suit to my niece's wedding tomorrow. So instead, I brought a bird.

I like lazybones' idea for your bird to wear a tie. Make it happen!

6 days late, but I finally got around to changing my avatar, only to all sorts of fun and theme days I have apparently missed out on. I will have to do better at keeping up with this thread in the future

Crazy hat/hair Tuesday seems to be the next thing.

We're the inner circle of GAF guys, show some respect to the ladies who are brave enough to admit they are such.

I think it's OK to say you like someone's avatar, but the naked wrestling thing was a bit disappointing to behold on RP gaf. And the only requesting for garter pics was between guys I believe (disturbing mental image)(haha).

But anyway, let's talk about something a little more mentally chewy, like... plans for the new year? Travel, life, etc?

I actually wonder how many creepy PM's girl gaf gets. Like I think it's one thing to tell someone they are attractive but I can't imagine some of the weird shit people receive.

I haven't actually received any creepy PMs. That's why I think the RP thread is such a good thing. Having your real face next to your posts/PMs (usually) seems to have a sobering effect on the usual shenanigans that you see in posts where people are shielded by their anonymity. I like it.

This real pic thread has been the best thing for a while on GAF. I like seeing who I am talking to. Even though sometimes it's a tie.

Yeah it's been discussed and there are a few people who'd like to make a permanent change. I definitely think it's an interesting possibility.

The curious side of me, though, is more interested in seeing how RP would handle a formal debate on one of the OT's "hot button" topics that are almost always impossible to discuss. But I fear it might destroy us. Not sure it would be worth it.

No, but I perform two duties at my job, one of which I've been doing for 5 years and takes up 75% of my time, and the other of which I've only been doing for 6 months and takes up the other 25%.

They want to take my away from my current team (with whom I collaborate about once every three minutes and also do the job that I spend my 75% on) and move me to sit with the new team (with whom I meet once a week for a half hour and consider that adequate, because our jobs don't need collaboration).

It's mind-boggling.

His name is Joey but he prefers to be called Jo-Jo. He's 12 years old so pretty young, relatively speaking. His vocabulary is pretty robust. I was telling omgkitty that he can sing the entire song of Macho Bird by the Village People. Thats his biggest claim to fame. He knows a few Christmas tunes that I brush him up on when its that time of year and he yells at the dog.

He's picked up my laugh, my wife's laugh, me sneezing and various other noises as well. At sun-up and around mid-day are his chattiest times of day where he goes through his entire repertoire.

Thread does move fast, but it's slowing down a bit. At first you could post, and the thread was already a page further without anyone even reading it. However if you persist and post more regarding topics you like, you will connect with the peeps here.
And I must say, there are a lot of nice people here in RP-Gaf who do take this whole forum stuff to a more personal level. I think this is already a succesful experiment.
