What kind of guitar would you recommend to a beginner?
I'm curious what kind of price-hole I'm getting myself in to here.
Acoustic?
Oh who cares...
I will recommend Ibanez either way.

Yeah thanks for bringing that shit up again HP
Ugh. I do that too. Screws up your schedule something terrible.

Hey, RP GAF.
Figures I leave and miss out on JRPG talk. Oh well. I wish I could take a pic for tie-day but I'm so exhausted right now I think I'd look ridiculous :<
Not having a good day today, I think I'm going to go drown my sorrows in Skyrim.

Something around $200 is good for an acoustic or an electric. Number one thing is to pick something that you feel comfortable playing on though, with a good action (ease of pressing down strings onto the frets). Or you could be hardcore like I was and play a classical guitar with steel strings which was incredibly hard to play when I first started, but made everything really easy in comparison. The only reason I did this was because I was stupid and did not realize you need nylon strings for a classical.

Thanks guys. I don't really want to talk too much about it, I'll just say I was at the airport today and it wasn't me getting on the plane :<
There is always more room for JRPG talk.
TWEWY is the best JRPG of the generation.
Hmm. So if I bought a guitar, I'd have to not get a Vita.
Takao would be so disappointed in me!
So would you recommend just going to a music store and actually getting the thing in my hands in order to figure out what feels best?
Should I buy TWEWY or Rayman Origins? Hmmmm.
I really shouldn't buy ANY more games right now but I've been tossing this one around all day.

I really liked TWEWY
I wouldn't call it the best JRPG of this generation though lol

1) Internet is fixed
2) It's 52 degrees outside
3) I'm in my house and not freezing my ass off
Fuck yeah
If you're going to eventually get both games then Rayman Origins first since it's on sale at Toys R Us. TWEWY is such an amazing game though, my favorite rpg handheld hands down.Should I buy TWEWY or Rayman Origins? Hmmmm.

Depends, do you want BGE2?
Fuck it, TWEWY bought. Thanks guys.
I think TWEWY is an iconic game that will be remembered well into the future. Whereas Rayman Origins will be remembered as that Rayman game on HD consoles that wasn't as good as Rayman 2.
You guys are talking about handhelds, right?
Haven't played a handheld since the Gameboy Color days. I hear there are some decent games for them, but it's hard for me to get excited about playing on a little screen.
Only thing I'll warn you about is to stick with it. At first the battle system will feel overwhelming and the protagonist will be fill all the JRPG tropes people jokes about, but the DNA of the game actually becomes more evolved as you progress.

Pretty much. For all the things that Vita claims it can do, it can not be a guitar.
That would be the best idea. I hate guitar center, but if there is one thing I like is that they have a separate room for acoustic guitars so you can go in there and try one out. I have a fender acoustic that I paid for half of when I was 16 and my dad paid for the other half for my birthday. It was around $200 and has served me well for all these years. Rarely goes out of tune, withstands crazy bad weather, and has a nice warm tone. Only problem I had was the fretboard looked all dried and dead towards the top till a friend gave me some treatment stuff she had.
Edit: Nevermind.
Only if you like good games. So the message I'm getting here is that I should really pick up TWEWY again.

TWEWY is the best JRPG of the generation.
Rayman has basically price collapsed now. I doubt any new sales will contribute to Ancel's ability to make a new BG&E.
So basically its first few hours are about as strong as any other JRPG made in the last 10, 15 years
I hate the metalheads who hang out in Guitar Center playing heavy riffs for hours on end.
It's like... I'm trying to test out delay effects, and I have to listen to this guy doing a terrible Kerry King impression the whole time?
My suggestion, go into Guitar Center, try everything out. Find out what you want. Then buy online cause Guitar Center is a shitty store full of shitty people.
In order to truly test a guitar's worth one must first pick it up and play Smoke on the Water immediately.
