I get it.
The Christmas hols messed me up. Left to my own devices I'm pretty sure I operate on a 28 hour day; I don't get tired and just go to bed later and later until it's about 7 in the morning before I get to sleep. I need work to keep me in a normal human routine.

Something around $200 is good for an acoustic or an electric. Number one thing is to pick something that you feel comfortable playing on though, with a good action (ease of pressing down strings onto the frets). Or you could be hardcore like I was and play a classical guitar with steel strings which was incredibly hard to play when I first started, but made everything really easy in comparison. The only reason I did this was because I was stupid and did not realize you need nylon strings for a classical.

You can get a beginner Fender Squire electric for a little over $100. It'll play like shit, but then again so will you. This will allow you to learn with very little overhead and find out if its something you can actually dedicate yourself to.
I got my 8 year old daughter that exact model and paid $110 for it new. She plugs into my amp, so that wasn't an additional cost. She's picking it up nicely for her age.
You dont just pick up guitar, you have to keep practicing. If you're not dedicated to learning, you wont, so no need to go big at the beginning if you're not sure you want to really play or not.

i love TWEWY, but I still think Xenoblade is the best JRPG this generation. Followed closely by Ys 7.

Having played both, I would say TWEWY. Rayman Origins is a great game, but I got more out of TWEWY.
I really liked TWEWY
I wouldn't call it the best JRPG of this generation though lol

I'm in the market for a new acoustic. I'm getting more and more obsessed with fingerstyle and classical playing. I've had an Ibanez electric for years and if any acoustic can get even close to how well that feels to play I'd be ecstatic. My current acoustic is a battered 40 year old Morris acoustic that used to belong to my Mum. It's genuinely horrific to play, the action is absurd, so anything would be an improvement really. Sound weirdly good though.

I think TWEWY is an iconic game that will be remembered well into the future. Whereas Rayman Origins will be remembered as that Rayman game on HD consoles that wasn't as good as Rayman 2.

Sometimes I think I'm the only person who wasn't head over heels about TWEWY. It was solid and the battle system was fun, but the anime angsty angst main character really put me off. It was like playing as a younger, baggier, zippier Squall.
Edit: Nevermind.
If you're going to eventually get both games then Rayman Origins first since it's on sale at Toys R Us. TWEWY is such an amazing game though, my favorite rpg handheld hands down.

Pretty much. For all the things that Vita claims it can do, it can not be a guitar.
That would be the best idea. I hate guitar center, but if there is one thing I like is that they have a separate room for acoustic guitars so you can go in there and try one out. I have a fender acoustic that I paid for half of when I was 16 and my dad paid for the other half for my birthday. It was around $200 and has served me well for all these years. Rarely goes out of tune, withstands crazy bad weather, and has a nice warm tone. Only problem I had was the fretboard looked all dried and dead towards the top till a friend gave me some treatment stuff she had.

Only thing I'll warn you about is to stick with it. At first the battle system will feel overwhelming and the protagonist will fill all the JRPG tropes people joke about, but the DNA of the game actually becomes more evolved as you progress.

I actually just got myself a copy of The Last Story from Play Asia for $30. I know what I'm getting into, and I've been looking forward to the game for a while.
Looking forward to dipping into it next monday.
Of course, I'll be playing Dodonpachi resurrection all weekend!

Rayman has basically price collapsed now. I doubt any new sales will contribute to Ancel's ability to make a new BG&E.
My suggestion, go into Guitar Center, try everything out. Find out what you want. Then buy online cause Guitar Center is a shitty store full of shitty people.
Disclaimer: The Robinson Towne Center store just south of Pittsburgh is the worst amp buying experience I've ever had. I'm sure some of the people who work at that store are cool, but at least three of them are shitty people.
Now I'm wondering what was there before. :lol
I do love the game, although it has been so long since I've played it... I really ought to play it again. Playing the game always makes me feel giddy, especially the battle in the concert hall since I used to go to that concert hall all the time.
As for the last JRPG I played: FFXIII-2. I'm here to tell you: It's okay. I had a good time.
Speaking of which, what is the WORST JRPG you've ever played? I mean ever. I know this might get a lot of FFXIII replies, but really... you know which game just makes me scream at the thought? Beyond the Beyond. Have you ever played it? Playing it is liking looking into the pits of hell.

It's not that they're weak, they're just intimidating.
A lot of people think you need to be watching both screens at once, but it's all about getting comfortable enough with one side of the battle to where you can focus on the other side. It's hard to realize this until you hit the first major boss or so.
In order to truly test a guitar's worth one must first pick it up and play Smoke on the Water immediately.

I once went to an open interview there, and they had a new manager since the last time I tried interviewing there. I nearly asked if having a soul patch was a requirement to be a manager there. It's the people who just sit there practicing who piss me off. No one wants to hear you shred. Shredding is cool in concert at the climax of an awesome song. It's not so cool when someone just does it for half an hour with no supporting instruments.
