I'm not going to lie, it makes me feel better to realize that we've all had some degree of trauma and are still functioning adults.

I'm sure there were times in my life where I didn't know if I could be good at being an adult because of everything I went through. I guess it's kind of hard to know that the standards to which we're comparing ourselves to all probably went through a lot of shit, too.

Traumatic experience and shitty childhoods can either eff you up or be used as character fodder. People who can channel it into the latter are the kind of people I seek out and admire. I actually perversely enjoy bad experiences now because I feel like they make me stronger. Level up!

Scars...well when I was in elementary a disturbed classmate nailed a pencil on my leg, I still have the pencil tip stuck there (never got it out). In high school a girl stubbed out a cigarette on my hand. We were young.

I don't know why, but this reminded me of a girl in my 7th grade class who carved Kurt Cobain's name into her leg. Yikes.

And then they all got preggers or had STDs and popped out 2-3 kids and live in navy housing. At least, this was the result at my school, and I confess I take somewhat vicious pleasure in it. I hope you at least spiked a volleyball in their made-up faces in school.

I feel bad thinking it, but this seems to have happened to a good deal of the girls in my school as well. There were very few girls who had any ambitions beyond tricking a guy into marriage. Makes me feel so sad :<
