Look, it was either this or School Days. If we are gonna soil a virgin soul we might as well do it with something that's actually goodwell-made historically important.
Those clouds are going to waste, someone tell this man to make a solatorobo movie, if he wants he can change everyone to cats.

Am not sure if it's going to be any good but sure it will have some damn nice clouds.
Combine Shinkai's cloud/landscape experience with Hosoda's furry experience from his next film. Ultimate partnership right there.

Hey, this is pretty cool. Not too many shows give you a full insert song in French in the first episode.
kinda looks like Ikuhara himself. I wonder if that was intentional or not. More of whatever is happening is happening, and I have a feeling I will soon full grasp the nature of what is actually occurring. Little by little, more of it is being filled in, and as I approach episode 33, I am heavy in anticipation for what is to come next.

Tearing up so much right now. What a great ending. I was actually expecting
Okabe to sacrifice himself completely so his past self could be happy with Makise after certain events happened, but I'm glad that didn't happen since it would be too damn sad.
This was an amazing show. What started out as a silly minor time travel theory show ended up as an intense, dramatic and heartwarming sci-fi thriller. Okabe went from an amusing troll to one of the most sympathetic anime characters in recent memory. The rest of the cast is also very likable, each having their own vices and troubles that make them quite sympathetic as well. The way
Mayuri became a major focus for a while
was really something I loved. No character felt undeveloped with the possible exception of Daru, but even he got some good development. I suppose
Braun's story arc
feels a bit incomplete, but I'm honestly cool with that.
Any complaints I have are completely overshadowed by how masterfully well done this was. The directing, story, art, animation; it was all great. I really did not expect to like it so much, but man am I glad I picked it back up after watching the first episode on release and then shelving it with the intention to drop. Now that would've been a major mistake.
Gotta gather my thoughts before and if I decide to do a big write-up, but this is definitely going to affect my 2011 list.
So good to see another enjoy it like I did. Steins; Gate was one of the better written and just damn enjoyable series to air in a long time. Though, I agree with you in saying that
its writing was bolstered, and shielded from complaint in some respects, by the overwhelmingly effective characterization of Okabe. The charm behind his usual bravado, and subsequent, subtle descent into instability really does almost veil the fact that the other characters got little to no fleshing out. They all had enough of a motive to their actions, and schticks to entertain, but barely anyone besides Kurisu got the actual time to show more. Her getting just enough to show just how much of a fucking BRO she is.
And, you know, in a case like this, I can't fault them. Work with what you got. They had a limited amount of time to portray the story, and they, instead of focusing on extraneous dead ends, focused on the most effective way to do it; that being the actual window through which the viewers see in. That's just solid direction, and it deserves props.
Lighthearted and harmless fun with likable characters and a cute protagonist. Really enjoyable. Will continue.
Symphogear 1
Grimdark and brutal as expected, trailer and promo artwork were an elaborate troll, will give this one more episode. Could go either way, emo or psychotic and badass. Will continue if it's the latter. It's most likely going to be the former.
High School DxD 1
That was unexpectedly bloody and violent for what looked like another generic harem fanservice show. I think I'm going to enjoy this.
In Japan, THE IDOLM@STER Blu-rays come packed with CDs which include all the music from the show, including all the songs heard in whole or part in the episodes. These CDs aren't sold separately, so you need to buy the episodes to get the CDs. Why am I not surprised by this turn of events.
Yes, I know, I know, I just thought it was the "AnimeGAF way" to over-exaggerate things a little bit.
I really didn't know it was the same director until I looked it up just before that post though. Should have just gone with my original line about EL beating it to the punch with the Klimt style OP.
It's not like Mamoru Kanbe is reading this forum anyway.
Sora no Woto 2
This really is a nice show. Good balance of comedy and more 'serious' themes.
I knew we could come to a consensus. Really Senjou will always be the best in ___monogatari. Kanbaru will just have stolen the looks and stole it well.
Amagami Plus 1: Poor Hanazono. Losing all his female voters because of porn mags. Then again why stuff as many of those as you would textbooks in your schoolbag if you'd want to have a chance at presidency. Kurosawa and her bunch should just run an old fashioned smear campaign. She's got connections or something right? Sae running for pres is, I suppose, the joke entrant (an absolute requirement in any high school election!).
Ayatsuji is still pretty cool while Junichi is still the same (dat photoshoot and bathing dream).
All in all, it's more of the same Amagami. As long as I don't get trolled to hell again when the time comes. Not enough Nishishishi.

(Somewhere, a generation is growing up without having watched To Catch A Predator. There’s going to be kids wondering, “Who the fuck is Chris Hansen?” much to their detriment. He was a warrior. He fought for you like how Aragorn fought for Frodo at Black Gate of Mordor.)
Huh? I'm not offended! I'm being serious, you're making valid points!
Apparently my tone isn't very clear.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Fate/Zero 11 Uncut]
It's not like there was a 'scene missing' in the original version. It just feels that lots of parts of the conversations were trimmed or removed, a long with certain shots which really help to set the tone of the episode. Of course, it still contained glorious verbal beatdowns of Saber, which is what everyone really wants. It's all about talking heads anyway.
