Amazon really aren't budging on that MGS "misprice", even though it was available at that same price for seemingly months before. Had two replies for my email basically copying the live chat response word for word.

Anyone know if/when tales of the abyss 3ds is going to start coming back into stock? Everywhere appears to have been sold out since before christmas, hope theres a second run on the way

With ToS:Dawn of the new world, when Namco stopped printing copies for the UK market Amazon canceled my order and told me it was discontinued so if your order is not canceled it should be when rather than if. Assuming Namco are consistent in their behavior.

Hi guys. Cheapest place for Chrono Trigger DS? :3 Is it out of print or something? Haven't seen it around in a while...
Basically this. It came out in Europe when Square Enix decided to try low print runs (Dragon Quest V is also affected by it*) to see if they were better than ones which were too high and dropped in value (these are better, extra volume and making interest on money you give back to retailers...). As was previously said the US version was overproduced to a mad degree (as it was before that experiment) so is easily found for sub $20.

Another Europe friendly alternative is Videogamesplus where it is $20CAD+stupid amount of shipping so play-asia is probably cheaper (both can be slow though, VGP is generally faster though).

*-US recently got a reprint of this.

Not once has Amazon.co.uk honored a misprice for me. I don't know how they managed to get a good reputation for that. I've ordered 4 things from them that were misprices (and not even grossly mispriced, except for the Vita stick) and they haven't honored any of them.

I've had a pre-order of Final Fantasy XIV for the PS3 for £7.81 for about 3 months now. They've yet to cancel it! It's £37.99 if you pre-order it now.

Stupid amount of shipping? It's 7,49CAD, which is less than 6 euros, Play-Asia isn't that much cheaper. Really not that bad when the game itself is so cheap.

Finally got an Xbox after 8 months without, and am ordering games for the first time since then.

Just wondering about Coolshop. Is it a reliable online retailer? Never used it before, and quite a few games are cheapest on there.

Can't really speak for the English one, but Coolshop is originally a Danish shop (still is) and arguably the biggest online gameshop in Denmark. Very popular, very reliable. I can only presume the same about the English one :)

Crap, I've been offline for a couple of days and missed what was being said here about this. I just sent an email to their customer services asking for the price to be moved to it's pre-cancellation price, which I believe to be around £23.... did it drop significantly lower than that?

It was £20.33 when I ordered, and from what I can see from the thread it's been around that price since June last year, up until now when everyone had their orders cancelled.

Awful customer service from Amazon, firstly for deciding it's a "misprice" after not a couple of days, but six months, and secondly for selectively allowing some customers to place their orders at the original, cheaper price while telling others it isn't possible. Whether you get the option to re-order for £20ish again seems to be entirely random.

Maybe they only do it if you give them grief, but it barely felt like I was talking to an actual person in the chat.
Same, my 'live chat' was just a list of prewritten responses which were then copied to me again (twice) when I sent an email.

Don't want to get too angry over it as it's only a few quid, it's just annoyed me that they seem to be giving refunds for some people and not others, rather than either nobody or everyone. Going to keep emailing them every now and again and see if they get bored of me eventually and credit my account.

I also use CD Universe (US) a lot, they have some huge inventary so you can often find games that are out of print everywhere, used it to complete my GBA collection at a time all you could hope to find in EU/UK were kim possible, nemo or spongebob games.

Yeah, they're fine. Used them a few times in the past without any issues. The site used to be called SoftUK before they were bought out by Coolshop.

That "randomly" part of your post does worry me slightly, but I got a reply from Amazon and they have adjusted the price of my order back to £20.33, even though I requested a move to "around £23".

If other people haven't gotten the same level of service then that's not right, but it took one politely worded email for me to get the issue resolved. I can't really complain about the inconvenience, because it was minimal. Sorry to anyone having problems with this, I placed my original order back in September and mentioned the pre-order price guarantee in my email. Plus, I'm a pretty loyal amazon customer, maybe they felt it was better to give me the £8 than risk losing my business, which they certainly would have if they hadn't adjusted the price.

True, I didn't mention the preorder price guarantee in my original email, so I think if they don't budge with their next reply I'll mention that and tell them I won't be preordering with them again (which is true, as it doesn't seem I can expect to receive preorders with any certainty). Shame, as I've been quite impressed with Amazon's service on in-stock products.

Okay, it seems like I will never receive Persona 3 from Sendit. Any tips where I can find Persona 3 and 2 PSP for a good price?

Anyone know where I can find a Rock Band stratocaster on Xbox 360. I'm struggling to even find it in stock anywhere :/

One of these.

or a pro guitar at a reasonable price?

Shadows of the Damned is £10.95 at Zavvi and it says that it's "usually dispatched within a month". Is this a mistake or is there more stock of SotD coming? It would actually be better for me if I could order this now but not get sent immediately as I don't get paid until Thursday.

I wouldn't trust that at all. They seem pretty slapdash about their estimated dates. I ordered Timecop which was "usually dispatched in five days". Like a month later I canceled the order. Don't know for sure but I think eventually it would've gotten canceled by them as they now no longer have that DVD in their database even.

Never hurts to try, just don't expect them to actually get stock in.

Don't hold your breath. I ordered Dragon Quest V when it's status was "usually dispatched within a month" a couple of years ago and canceled it after waiting for three to five months.
