so far I have the First Edition bundle and two 32GB memory cards fully paid for with store credit on Amazon, hopefully they get release date delivery options soon

might switch to a wifi only model though if the 3G plans are as bad as the rumors since I don't really need either the 3G or GPS (unless Sony gives us more information that make them appealing enough)

edit: all that's left to get is that case from Play-Asia and stock up on PSN credit (hopefully they'll make a ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for the Vita as well)

I wish Amazon would flesh out their accessories section. I really want to order a case.

same, their ass is slacking big time.

edit:

I want this so bad, wish it had red trimming though

i'm not a big sports fan at all, but i'm curious to how FIFA and Virtua Tennis will work with all the added touch controls.

From the videos Fifa looks amazing, especially with the touch controls, they use it for passing and what not.

JP Vita launch thread, Gaffers have nothing but good things to say about Virtua Tennis

Dude! What's the deal here? I don't really see anyone saying they plan on getting Rayman Origins. I might need to pick it up now.

I remember reading that some of the people who have the system already say Virtua Tennis looks amazing on the screen.

Have they announced a US UMD plan? I bought TiTS, but my PSP is MIA.

Also, do we know US PSN pricing for Vita games yet?

Still listed as a launch game (or launch window game) for western markets, in both PS3 and PS Vita.
But it won't be marketed a lot since it's a smaller, non 1st party game.

Ruin is totally a First Party game and its not listed as a launch title or launch window game on the Playstation Blog.

They haven't announced anything yet, and a number of people seem to think they won't bother doing anything for UMD owners outside Japan. Really hope that's not the case.

And I'd guess PSN pricing will be the same as retail, probably up to the publisher though. That "up to 40% off" rumor reeks of bullshit since brick and mortar would pitch a huge fit.

Just Pre ordered my Vita with 32gb, Wipeout, And Uncharted. Will include Lumines once it's up on Amazon. Possibly will include 1 other game (UMvC3?) but most likely not. I have UMVC3 on PS3 already, any indication that the two versions will interact? If so, I might pick up the game on Vita just to see that.

Still need to preorder/choose a case and waiting for thr cradle to go up on Amazon

Any indication what Super Stardust is gonna cost? That might be my 4th game right there.

Whats with Gamestop's pricing on the memory cards? Not only are they lying about the MSRP, but there knocking them down to a point were there still more expensive.

Lol at the 8gb above MSRP

They are being full of shit as usual. They are doing the same thing with the games (Hot shots, wipeout are 39.99 marked to 29.99 on their page) but every store is selling them at that price.

Lol at the 8gb above MSRP

Hahaha, i didnt even noticed the games being "marked down". The 4GB and 8GB are marked up $5, while the 16 and 32 are marked down to there suposed price point. Its all to weird.

I am wanting this as well.. I have a huge UMD collection and at least 10 titles I want to move over at some point. I at least starting buying all digital around the PSP Go release time, so things like Ogre Tactics, Persona 1 and 2, and FF Dissidea 2 are all digital at least.

there is already a UMD program in Japan and no important publisher (like Square) has signed for it.

Looks like the 8gb memory card will be the most popular. We also see that PSN only titles are a sign of the direction we are headed. They tried with the PSP Go but at least this time they are offering both physical and digital for most games any ways.

Turns out I get my refund check just when the Vita launces; was gonna wait until June/July to see the lineup get stronger, but I'll dip in early with a Wi-Fi Vita, 32GB Memory Card, and Gravity Rush.

Hi, wanna be friends?

$14.99 for a Protective Film?

I bet the Hori brand will be much cheaper.

For those that have used it, is the protective screen even needed?

I mean with my iPhone I can't imagine why I'd want to have the screen protector. Is the screen that type of quality? Or something more inferior?

I think the iPhone uses Gorilla glass, while the Vita uses plastic

Joystiq very confusingly describes it as

The front is a single piece of plastic, much like the "Gorilla Glass" iPhone front in appearance

(People bitch about it not coming with a memory card, but I think that is one place Sony should have spent a little bit more money)

Am I the only one who isn't buying any accessories besides the memory cards?

I probably will not take my Vita outside of my house and I don't believe in screen protections, they just get in the way of gaming and doesn't feel right

After destroying 2 PSPs before getting that Playgear Pocket case from Logitech for my 3rd (and still living) PSP, I'm definitely going to get some sort of armor for the Vita. Except Logitech doesn't seem to be making one....only PDP and Mad Catz, neither of which are exactly companies known for making quality products.

I don't see any way that pricing isn't a violation of the FTC's deceptive pricing guidelines.

§233.1 Former price comparisons.

(a) One of the most commonly used forms of bargain advertising is to offer a reduction from the advertiser's own former price for an article. If the former price is the actual, bona fide price at which the article was offered to the public on a regular basis for a reasonably substantial period of time, it provides a legitimate basis for the advertising of a price comparison. Where the former price is genuine, the bargain being advertised is a true one. If, on the other hand, the former price being advertised is not bona fide but fictitious -- for example, where an artificial, inflated price was established for the purpose of enabling the subsequent offer of a large reduction -- the "bargain" being advertised is a false one; the purchaser is not receiving the unusual value he expects. In such a case, the "reduced" price is, in reality, probably just the seller's regular price.

One more reason to hate GameStop, I guess.

I'm with you. I still don't know what size card to get. Has there been any information on PSN game pricing?

No, I am with you. I feel the same way about screen protections too. Something about them just doesn't feel right.

I'll give it a shot without a screen protector, but chances are I'll end up buying one so it doesn't look like my DS Phat with layers of scratches covering the bottom screen. I don't really see a point in any other accessories besides the memory card though.

As long as they actually sell the cards for a "reasonable" length of time at the base prices they have listed, they aren't in violation. But we all know that's probably not going to happen.

I've decided I kinda want the First Edition Bundle again, but have no need for the 4gb memory card.

What can I use it for if I'm intending on getting a 16gb or 32gb card?

Are there any ant-reflective screen protectors? If one is going to play this in the daytime (outside?) are there any films that don't production sun reflections etc...?

sell it for $15 on Craigslist?

I think people will be able to find a 4GB for very cheap either by people selling them shortly after launch, or retailers bundling them to entice consumers.

I love new friends! Of course we can be friends.

Don't start feeling too special just yet as I won't be getting any accessories either.

I also haven't bought any accessories.

After spending money on PSP accessories when I got one, I realized that I just didn't need them.

I cancelled my 4gig Memory stick Pre-Order and Pre-Ordered a 16gig instead since LittleBigPlanet Vita isn't releasing until June (according to the email I got from Amazon).

So now, my PSVita setup is looking like this:

PSVita 3G/Wi Fi
16GB Memory Card
Uncharted: Golden Abyss

I'm still debating on if I want to pick up Shinobido 2 from Amazon, and UMvC3 from my job. I should be able to get UMvC3 for about $20-$25 from the company store, I think. The discount is usually pretty good.

If I don't get those two, then I'll probably buy a few cheap PSP games off of PSN, for when I don't feel like playing Uncharted anymore. Speaking of, do any of you guys know/have heard, if Corpse Party will be compatible with the Vita? I'm buying it off of the PS Store in a few days, but wanted to make sure it worked on Vitas before I do.

I'm bummed I won't have LBP day one, but there's plenty of other cool stuff to play/do with my Vita.

I'm hoping Shinobido and army corps are good. Those two with wipeout and uncharted should make it the best launch in a long time.

i would rather have temporary scratches than permanent ones.

Am I the only one who isn't buying any accessories besides the memory cards?

Mine'll come to work with me so I need a case, but other than that I don't think I'll be picking up anything other than a memory card. Even if I did want a screen protector I'll only fudge putting it on and it'll end up in the bin where EVERY other screen protector I've tried has ended up.

I will definitely try a screen protector first.

Will also get a good carrying case to hold game cards, and ideally a backup battery too. But at launch, I may just get by with the cheapest option first, and then take my time waiting/picking the ideal one.

What I really really want for Vita is a carkit. I carry my PSP in my car and leave it in the glove box usually. Would be great if I can use Vita like a in-car entertainment system.
