It's funny because I didn't really say anything negative about FE. I said that I wasn't going to pay $25 for a GBA game (which is what Amazon's price was for a used copy when we talked). I'm already strapped for cash as it is. I did promise Billy that I would eventually play FE, though! If stupid Steam chat kept message histories I could prove it.

The reason I'd give PoR the edge is that support conversations are weirdly important to me in Fire Emblem games.

Also that I just plain like Ike's "coming of age" story better. The speech before you storm the castle is one of my favorite moments in the series and I've played them all except Genealogy of the Holy War.

I do agree RD has better gameplay, though. The pacing is a bit bogged down by the first ten or so chapters where you're playing as Micaiah's army, but once it picks up, it doesn't let up.

I think I'm one of the few people that likes the Modern Warfare-ing of Zelda. Maybe not permanently, but I'd like them to do it perfectly (same linearity with less padding) before giving up on the idea.

Yeah, Micaiah's parts were definitely dull, not to mention harder than anything I'd played in any FE previously. So when Ike appears first, it was pretty awesome. Not even bad voice acting ruined it!

Agreed.
Except about the motion controls! They clicked for me, just use the sensor bar next time.

I'm definitely more excited for the franchise after SS than I was after beating TP, even though I prefer TP overall.

SS though, when it hits the right notes...wow! That final boss was so epic!

Oh, I didn't have a problem with aiming at all, just the sword controls and rolling things like bombs. And flying the Beetle straight is IMPOSSIBLE

I didn't have any problem with the beetle. It was always incredibly accurate.

I think this is the fundamental problem with motion controls as we have them. I can have an absolute pristine experience (I got desynced once and had to rejigger in my entire 40 hours), but other people can do the same thing and still not have good ones either due to perception or setup or even hardware.

Meanwhile, I tried out my friend's Kinect and, because I'm shorter than him, the game made me stand up closer and lost the entire "your buddy is right next to you!" aspect.

Dat Beetle! It is indeed really accurate. I loved that thing.

I still haven't finished it. I am near the end
I was fighting that weird skinny guy again after I commited a bokoblin genocide... but I lost. I hadn't prepared at all. No potions fairies etc. Now I am demotivated to try again :(

In my opinion, the best boss fight in the series lies on the other end of that fight. Motivation go!

Don't worry about it man. I had a sprinkling of grey at 21, fast-forward a decade and nothing much has changed. There's definitely a little more grey around the sides but you've got to look close to notice.

Besides, there's a lot to be said for the Salt 'n' Pepper / Silver Fox look.

I started getting it around the same time (20-21), but now (29) I have quite a lot of white hairs on top. The weird part is none of my hair went grey or anything; the turncoats just up and started growing in stark white.

I'd be okay with going white. 26 and nothing much doing so far. What I'm really struggling with right now is the idea of going bald. My head is all knobs and stuff... it won't be a good look.

At least stark white is better than dull grey?

The divide between sects here isn't nearly as bad I don't think, I have many christian friends even, and some of our closest family friends even, are christian.

The problems in the country now though are troubling, it's getting worse and worse in escalation, and the biggest issue is how many pro-gov. people are here, there really is a divide and it's not black & white.

Do wish you luck though, it sounds pretty shitty and I can relate to feeling of being somewhat 'lost'.

The problem is that Saudis confuse (or infuse) culture with religion. You'd be surprised at the shit I hear at work from Saudis talking about the expatriates working with us. The sad thing is, this is almost the norm. It's not like a bad apple or two. And yeah, it looks really really bad in Syria right now. Stay safe, man.

I grew up with a lot of Yemenis (including the Yemeni ambassador's son) who are still living in the US, and it sucked leaving them behind and having to start my life all over again. :( But you get used to it after a while - if you're a guy.

Birds aren't dumb, they know exactly what they're shitting on and do it purposefully. Only way you can explain all the shit on cars but not on bikers and runners. Makes sense to me.

PS. That looks fucking scary.

Other platforms are pretty clean. For now.

First time I rode in a helicopter and planted my foot on one of these platforms was terrifying. You get used to it after a week or so.

Unfortunately so. Technically, it's a gas platform. First offshore gas platform in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Aramco (world's largest oil corporation) now considers itself an "Energy" company rather than just a typical oil company.

I'm taking 4 classes. 2 are online. The other 2 are on different days so every day I have to drive for 2 hours total (there and back) in order to be in a 90 minute or 60 minute class. *Sigh* At least I have time to listen to podcasts!

I have never scared anybody like this before. :D Its amazing, I think I might just keep this avatar then!
