I have been thinking about this all morning...I think that the Ravens/Texans are more evenly match than some people think. Let's start at defenses. Coverage wise I think the Texans might be better than the Ravens, with the exception of Reed. Pollard is awful at coverage. We had him here for 2 years, and I've seen it first hand. The LB core for the Texans is better than the Ravens. Defensive Line I'd give the edge to the Ravens.

Offensively again they are close. Foster and Rice both studs. Ravens have Leach who Texans' fans know is a beast. Texans have better TE's. Andre Johnson to Boldin at WR. Then we have the QB position.....Flacco is just not that good to me. Slightly better than Yates and that's only because he has more experience. If he struggles (which is a high probabilty) I can easily see the Ravens losing.

I think people see Ravens and Texans and automatically go with Baltimore because of their pedigree or whatever. If you look at it by position the two teams are closer than you'd thinkk.

If you contain Rice and force Flacco to win with his arm, you will win that game.

Do you watch the games? Your posts read like you don't.

He brought up two bad throws in the 4th quarter and downplayed all the great, perfect passes into tight coverage Tebow completed during the game. Are you kidding me. Watch any game and you'll see even the best QBs in the league misfire and over/under throw their receivers, but it's Tebow so every little thing gets magnified.

I was really hoping we would play the Falcons again so I could hate the team we played. It really sucked playing the Lions. I honestly hated that. The Lions fans deserve more success. IF we got to the SB and the Broncos happened to be there I would root against Denver obviously, but I would feel bad about it.

Lions fans deserve a few more successes and a few less beer bottles in the face

I can think of a single pass that fits that description. None in the fourth quarter.

He does, but his totality of football knowledge starts around week 15 of this season. Cut him some slack, he's learning just like that Scottish guy.

Sorry Heavy. Those throws are indicative of his accuracy and came on two incredibly important drives. At some point maybe I'll ask Welli to send me the entire film so I can break down every play, but I just don't have the time today.

So those two throws are indicative of his accuracy but the excellent perfectly he threw aren't? Get the fuck out with that garbage. "Only these throws count, the rest don't!"

Hahaha ok you didn't watch the game. He had several perfect passes into tight coverage. I'm done, that post just killed your credibility.

Funny thing is the same can be said about the Texans.

I think the game will be a lot closer than people are expecting. We played them in the regular season and lost, but we didn't have Andre. That was also around the time where the injuries starting hitting and the guys that are playing now weren't as productive.

The difference is that for an elite QB, an over throw/under throw is more of an anomaly. With TEbow it is a regularity. He just isnt that accurate yet. He also makes like 5-10 completions per game so his mistakes are magnified. The key with him though, is that the throws he DOES make are usually for gigantic fucking gains and in very key moments. He is clutch without actually being good.

We need at least two OL in the first 3 rounds, IMO. But the Steelers always go with BPA. We also desperately need a CB opposite Ike. Gay is meh and Lewis didn't really step up like I thought he was going to (after the hype of the pre-season).

I think it's OLx2, CB and look for BPAs that can start filling in on our aging D. If we could scoop an ILB that would replace Farrior, we should consider that as well.

Sounds fair. If they draft RB or WR I'll be pissed though. They need every spare body on the draft order at other positions. Ben is just taking way too many hits.

I mentioned time and again that the throws he made were important and were a huge reason the Broncos won.

You're a strange guy with an interesting inability to have a reasonable discussion. Sundays are for the idiocy. Mondays are for real talk. During the week, let the adults discuss football. Come back this weekend to spout trash. The adults are talking now.

Such a loss.

pshhh, TJ Yates is a gawd damn stud. Don't compare him to garbage like Flacco

Texans-Lions alliance bro!

Truth spitter.

Good job deflecting that into some lame insult.

rofl Watch the damn game, dude. In the second quarter alone your post is destroyed.

Absolutely. And stat wise..which don't mean everything but I''ll post it up anyway.

Pass Defense
#3 Texans
#4 ravens
Rush Defense
#2 Ravens

Pass Offense
#18 Texans
#19 Ravens
Run Offense
#2 Texans
#10 Baltimore

Overall Ravens has it where it counts.... Ws

Yeah I can.
I mean, I'm obviously on Brees' nuts a lot being a Saints fan, but aside from being apparently creepy as hell I don't think I'm that bad.
At least I dont post stupid image macros.

You just need to redirect everyones hate against the Saints to other teams. Did you hear A. Rodgers gives crack to kids. Alex Smith has small hands, dosen't believe in global warming, denies the holocaust, and voted for Obama.

This is the post season. Divisional round. Regular season records mean absolutely jack fucking shit now.

Absolutely. And heck I'm tired of losing to the Ravens..and so are the Texans. I hope TJ stays level headed, they'll be out to murder him.

He only threw ten completions so this could be verified very quickly.

There are a couple videos up on NFL. Obviously the OT throw doesn't fit the description. The 40 yard completion to Fells? Nope, busted coverage. 8 left. I said I could remember one, I just can't remember who caught it. That leaves seven completions!

NFL admits the officials blew the call

"Referee Tony Corrente ruled the play was a fumble and a recovery by Detroit," the league said in a statement emailed Sunday night to PFT. "However, during the play and before Detroit recovered the fumble, another official blew the whistle believing it was an incomplete pass. Because the ruling on the field was a fumble, and the whistle came before the recovery, the play is dead because of the inadvertent whistle and the Saints should have retained possession of the ball. New Orleans would then have had the choice to put the ball in play at the spot where possession was lost or to replay the down. Inadvertent whistles are not reviewable."

It really should have ended up the Saints ball because of the whistle, but the whistle should have never been blown. So both teams essentially got fucked. I am in no way saying things would have ended up differently had the whistle never been blown and Detroit scored a TD on that, just pointing this out. With the way Drew "Stats are fun" Brees was throwing, Pierre Thomas telling Detroit to fuck themselves, and the insult to hot garbage that the Detroit Defense was, no doubt in my mind NO would have won that game

Oh well, next year!

Absolutely. And heck I'm tired of losing to the Ravens..and so are the Texans. I hope TJ stays level headed, they'll be out to murder him.

I see what you did

Seems like Texans play the Raiders and Ravens every year.

Texans beat the Bengals and Steelers this year. Would be sweet to cap of the last AFC North team to advance to the next round. The game against the Bengals was a reason why I thought the Texans would be better off playing a WC game rather than having a bye. For a team that's been there before a bye would help, but the Texans haven't. Coming off of their first playoff win I think that is a big help, especially for TJ Yates.

Tebow still completed less than or right at 50%. I don't care if all his completions were into tight coverage. That means at least just as many were bad passes. There was one particular play where Tebow had time, the pocket opened up such that he had clear vision, and the WR (forget who) ran a nice in route. Wide open! Tebow threw it about 3 feet too short into the dirt. That is Tebow on the regular. The fact his D can keep him close and all he has to do is make 1-2 throws to win the game doesn't make him a great QB. Hell it doesn't even make him a good QB. A better QB with that D and run game wouldn't be struggling to win games at the end.

I for one am sick and tired of TEBOW TEBOW TEBOW. I will be rooting for the darkside, the satan himself, the BRADY!

And the Packers. Oh god Giants better not win. The shit I already had to hear at work today...ITS 2007 AGAIN BABY YEAH!!!

I think it works out for the best. Now with the win under your belt you believe you can win any game. Built up that confidence!

Watching the highlight film

Demarius Thomas 58 yarder - busted coverage

The Royal touchdown was the one I was thinking of, but that was a go against one on one. Meh. Go route to Thomas on the left sideline was also one on one with no over safety. It was underthrown. Amazing catch.

Second quarter is over. Still no nice throws into tight coverage.

Eh, at least hes not throwing picks into tight coverage.

Skip is such an idiot.
He is confusing "clutch" with "good".
Tebow can win games he just isnt a quality QB.
He still can win games so that should be all that matters to the Broncos right now.
Thats all the kid actually has to do.
however this doesnt change the fact that Skip is a fucking blowhard and I hate him.

Lance Moore out route at the end of the third. Wide open for 7 yards.

Demarius Thomas curl with 8 to go in the first. Wide open for 10 ish yard.

-sidenote, I love Mariuci calling a curl route a "back shoulder throw"

That's all the completions in the highlights. I see at the very, very most one ball that was "perfectly thrown into tight coverage" and it was the one I was talking about, Royals 9-route touchdown.

Had whitey caught the deep crossing route where he got his knee blown out by the Goodell Rules, that would have been his best completion of the day. It was certainly the best ball he threw all day.

100%. He only threw three or four balls total into coverage. It smart football.

perhaps his definition of tight coverage is a defender on the tv screen.

absolutely. I also think if theres any team playing with house money it would be the Texans. The Ravens are going to be the ones with the pressure on them, they're expected to be here and advance and beat a team like the Texans.

On the first meeting, the game was pretty close till late. I actually thought Flacco was pretty lucky in the game cause the Texans were hitting him, a lot, but he was still managing to connect on passes, he actually raised his accuracy percentage for the season on the game. One in particular i remember is him having two guys hanging off him and he lobs the ball to Ray Rice who runs for like a 15 yard gain. I can't imagine they hit him a lot again and he connects as much as he did in the first game.

Also is Anquan Boldin going to play? He had surgery on his knee.

Also we'll play the Ravens again next year cause they both won their division.

Its not Tebow who is being a diva here it is the fucking medi trying to turn him into some kind of superhero.
Dont hate on the guy just because espn is openly sucking his dick. He just goes out and tries his best, even though it isnt very good yet.
The problem here is that EVERYTHING is attributed to Tebow.
He has great defense and special teams behind him. The whole team believes in him and plays hard for him. They need to be acknowledged as well.

I didn't see it (Went to pick up my daughter from her nap) Nantz and Simms were talking about a back shoulder throw Tebow made in the third quarter. They both seemed shocked he made it.

Lance Moore? Umm....

Tebow still completed less than or right at 50%. I don't care if all his completions were into tight coverage. That means at least just as many were bad passes.

He also had 3-4 passes thrown away and a couple of drops. There were not ten or eleven "bad passes". People harping on completion percentage are silly. You can win with a lower percentage, so long as you make those fewer completions count. Tebow has done that since becoming the starter. The fact that he tries to many deep balls is a huge reason why his completion percentage is so bad. The feast or famine type passing game the Broncos run does not lend itself much towards a high percentage. He has some lame duck throws but he also hit some great passes in the game. The two touch passes to Fells or whoever that TE was, were both great throws. He hit Ball out of the backfield in tight coverage on 3rd down once. These are passes we weren't seeing him complete earlier.

As far as the "tight throws" argument, the TD to Royal was with a corner right on him. The pass he threw to Decker, there was a safety there and Harrison underneath. Not the type of throw Tebow would have made earlier this season. One play later he hit DT in stride with Taylor on him. Among others. The Steelers played tight man coverage all night. To throw for 300+ yards, you HAD to have thrown into tight windows.

I didn't see it (Went to pick up my daughter from her nap) Nantz and Simms were talking about a back shoulder throw Tebow made in the third quarter.

I would hardly call it a back shoulder throw in the traditional sense. It was essentially over his head and he had to turn around and put his arms up.

The odd thing is he does acknowledge everyone, every single post game interview he says how proud he is of the offensive line, receivers, defense, special teams, coaches... but media gives him all the credit for the win anyway.

Yup, this.

yeah, it was just a comeback route, but it was a fine throw, just a little high, but well timed and good velocity.
