Aaaand now I've spent too long watching Disco Inferno.

Regarding other wrestlers that were unspeakably over for no apparent reason... Well, I'd like to say Hacksaw Jim Duggan but his optimism was infectious. You can just tell the guy is probably a great man outside of wrasslin' as well.

Konnan was definitely over...when he shouldn't have been. >:(

I'd say R-Truth's "What's up?" entrance made him way more over than he would have been otherwise.

Not to say he was bad and his crazy person gimmick since then has been outstanding, it's just that they didn't really give the dude anything other than a sing-along entrance and that is apparently all you need to get a good pop.
Really exemplified when he changed it for a few weeks and his reaction dropped to nothing.

Funny too as the moment when he originally "snapped" wasn't all that great. "you did this, John". It was almost as bad as JoMo's promos(ok, not that bad).

Then, Crazy R-Truth starts, he starts having fun with it talking like a black person in an old black and white movie and what do you know! Everyone loves it. His character started going us so many great, entertaining moments.

Yeah, Truth's 'new song' that nobody knew the lyrics to really made things quiet. "Get Buck" and all that SHIT.

Audience participation can go a long way. Look at the New Age Outlaws. Or Scott Hall's SURVEY SAYS~ or even his simple HEY YO.

It's so hit and miss with him. Pretty Ricky was an abomination and undoubtedly equally as insane as R-Truth has ever been, but I hated it. HATED it.

Kurt angles WWE music always got the crowd going.

They where even chanting "you suck" when he was a face until they had to poorly edited his entrance music so the crowd couldn't chant anymore.

TNA entrance music is all pretty funny. everyone has a generic rock jobber theme.

I can't wait for Jeritroll. I wonder if he will get to the point tonight or keep screwing with us for another week.
I don't know but I'm planning on contacting Otunga. He's right. That jacket is a health hazard. That gif y'all keep posting gave my dog the shakes and I can't have that.

Whoa whoa whoa, if you're talking about the time he smoked and threw the cigarette butt at JoMo in England then you're dissing one of my favourite segments of the year.

TNA has some good music. I like the opening part of Angle's (it's awful when the rap comes in though) and Brian Kendrick's is one of my favourite themes. Beyond that most of their "good" themes are in the women's division...

Was that when Morrison came out and challenged him to a match for R-Truth's spot at the PPV? Can't remember if that was in England but if that's the moment, yeah. I wasn't a fan.

Hmm, so, early in 2012...

What was your favorite segment of 2011? It doesn't have to be EXCELLENT, just your favorite segment of the year.

I can't think of anything better than what topped my list of 2010 (Batista SHREDDING Cena on the mic, hugging fat girls, kissing babies etc) but what might just do it for me would be...

Shit, I dunno. What did you guys like?

That should be his supernatural gimmick. He causes natural disasters. He could flood the ring this week.

Too expensive, shaking the camera is just the cheapest most awesomest effect ever.
It's especially good because they did it while panning over the audience, who apparently had no reaction to being in the epicentre of a massive earthquake.

Shit I really need to think... but this one is up there

Yeah, they were in England.

TNA cancels Germany tour due to poor ticket sales.

-- The IMPACT WRESTLING World Tour events scheduled for Essen, Leipzig and Neu-Ulm, Germany, later this month have been cancelled, TNA Wrestling announced Monday.

Shooter Promotions, the event organizers, stated on Facebook, "Due to the unexpectedly poor clearance sales, the planned three TNA Wrestling shows are canceled. The already purchased tickets can be returned to the respective box offices."

This is the second international tour cancellation in recent months as an entire South American tour was nixed in November due to poor ticket sales.

Was the stupid promo from JoMo where he dressed up as Braveheart this year? Yknow, the one where he fucked up and cut himself on the face with the sword he brought to the ring? So stupid.

They tried really hard to push Jomo but nothing really worked. They just put him on the losing side of too many feuds and the audience didn't invest anything. He's the classic case of the skilled upper mid carder who couldn't get a gimmick to work.

I have a number of them, going chronologically...

- The Rock Returns
It's The Rock cutting promos which is fine by me, he's still entertaining and makes the roster look sorely lacking in mic skills with just one promo and despite some bungling with him over the year (WM hosting was mostly time wasting, Rock's Birthday Raw was absolute cack and in my opinion the SS comeback was unnecessary) i'm glad to see Rock playing a role in WWE again when he's able to and i'm looking forward to his match at WM.

- Orton wins title, enrages the IWC
Looking back this is kind of hilarious, and the feud gained from the RKO out of nowhere that crushed many souls (mine included) led to "Four Star Matches! Great Feuds!". Infamous stuff that actually gave SD last year a moment to remember.

- Orton's star jump
This was more out of nowhere than any RKO

- Insane R Truth
I can't just go with a single segment for this, this heel turn was gold and Truth became the Raw highlight for the first half of the year, also introduced the lethal weapon of water. (unless we count the Barrett/Cena thing from 2010)

- Punk's Pipebomb
Everyone loves this surely? of course WWE screwed it up but it was brilliant none the less.

- Sin Cara point off
I didn't think they'd actually do it but they did, we got Cara Vs Cara and the fantasy of pointing promos became a reality, so stupid it's good.

- Masked Kane Returns, gets one night of monster heel before the Cena effect ruins it
Because chicks dig the mask, he said it not me.

Anti moments of the year
- Rock's birthday, what a waste of time and a chore to watch, the show itself was like one whole horrible segment.
- Orton wins title, enrages the IWC, yes it's also an anti moment. Poor Christian never did get much in the bigger picture that Jericho alluded to, unless you count winning the title by being kicked in the crotch.
- Cena gets a title shot for no reason, ruins Mysterio's evening because he just has to be champ and then Punk makes a rushed return moments after making the entire thing pointless.
- Kevin Nash and Triple H make things cool again by buggering up Punk's whole angle, it's hard to pinpoint one exact moment here but i'll simply go with the moment Nash appeared at Summerslam. Minus further points for leading straight into the ADR reign of blandness that came with a predictable cash in that lacked punch.
- Kane/Cena going off the rails within a mere week with awful motivations for attacking Cena, teasing a heel turn that just isn't happening and of course Cena being Cena by undermining the whole thing with his respect crap.

Since Raw is gonna get destroyed by the BCS game tonight, how much effort will go into booking tonight's Raw?

The same effort that goes into most weeks of Raw, lets try and predict shall we?

- Cena promo to start off, makes light of kane trying to seemingly murder Ryder in THE ABYSS, then gets serious in the promo, Kane probably sends a voice over and pyrotechnics to save himself the effort of walking out to the ring.
- Main event is some variety of tag team match
- Ziggler manages to one up Punk again due to Mr Excitement
- Brodus Clay doesn't return
- Swagger begins to pursue the US title but somehow ends up losing in a random match against a SD wrestler
- The rumble will be mentioned off hand by a few wrestlers, probably Barret or Sheamus who will be on Raw to crush some jobbers
- Tag Team belts are ignored entirely
- Miz and Truth continue their stuff, The once Ice Cold Miz goes from being cold water to lukewarm as he fears Truth, Truth himself begins to slowly lose what made him entertaining because that's what happens when you turn face in WWE
- Cole will be annoying, King will phone it in
- WHC Bryan will have 10 minutes of screen time tops that ever so slightly builds on his Big show feud but not much actually happens.
- Kane/Cena continues and it's about time that Cena one upped Kane by thwarting an attack/pyrotechnics/super powers and lobs Kane out of the ring after delivering some scrappy punches, for some reason Kane will be deterred by this attack and show ends with Cena's music

Edit: oh yeah and there's also some guy called Jericho, I genuinely have no idea what he'll do therefore making his segment the most interesting part of Raw.

Either the Punk promo where the mic cut off at the end when he was 'shooting', or when Punk won the championship.

It seemed like maybe WWE was changing the formula up.

- Brodus Clay doesn't return

He's definitely returning. Johnny Ace said so.

They tried really hard to push Jomo but nothing really worked. They just put him on the losing side of too many feuds and the audience didn't invest anything. He's the classic case of the skilled upper mid carder who couldn't get a gimmick to work.
And that's what pissed me off the most watching the Z! Episodes with him in it. He was alright in them. The talking was natural, entertaining. Then it hit me. Maybe, just maybe, the problem wasn't Morrison but WWE giving him crappy scripted promos.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just bitter because he's gone.

Lets go over this after tonights show, and see how close you came. I for one think you will be dead on. Or they will try very very hard to get people to change the channel from the BCS game to RAW.

I expect shocking unexpected shit!!! I realize though it will most likely be waht you laid out. :(

Mark Henry's heel turn was also one of my favorite 2011 moments that wasn't necessarily match related. He's been a delight.

Those talking about JoMo - some people are natural speakers that can run with a script without problems - he unfortunately would stumble over his words. It was all about the promos, and he was in an unwinnable situation, sadly.

I didn't take him seriously anyway. All that prancing around is grounds to get yourself planted in the ring.

I may have stuck too closely to last weeks show so don't give up hope yet! though the variables are basically Brodus actually turns up, Punk gets the better of Ziggler and the main event is a singles match. Now that's variety!

You're most likely correct. No need to watch tonight.
