NFL 2011 Divisional Round |OT| Jesus cast flag merchants, rapists out of His temple

Just like the Super Bowl winning San Diego Chargers last year, who had the number one offense and defense based on yardage.

What's that you say? They didn't even make it to the post season?

Well, shit.

Texans know all about that. Red Zone offense is what matters most, and for awhile we totally sucked at it. Matt had good stats but the TDs were not there.

I hope someone makes a gif of Ayers powering through and throwing whatever bum lineman was trying to block him into Big Ben, that was an awesome play last night.

it's like he sacked Ben before the lineman hit the ground

Ravens had fourth best Pass D in the league, and it ain't all pass rush.

Plus.....TJ Yates is the QB.

And your QB is Joe Flacco...Him and Matt Ryan are the worst QBs of "good teams"

Texans rolling with house money...yall lose to Yates and it may be more embarassing than the Steelers losing to Tebow.

Texas A&M to go after Denver Broncos for 12th Man trademark:

On Sunday the Denver Broncos, and Tim Tebow in particular, were blowing the minds of football fans across the country while beating the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the NFL playoffs. It was pretty much a wonderful day to be a Broncos fan, but it was also a day that may find the team in court soon.

That's because after the Broncos beat the Steelers in overtime there was this tweet from Texas A&M's Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Jason Cook.

Yes, before the game a man parachuted into the stadium waving a flag that said "12th man" and the flag was waved during the game. Which seems completely harmless and pretty much commonplace, but Texas A&M owns the trademark for it and is planning on getting its money.

It's not the first time that the school has gotten involved in something like this, as it filed a lawsuit against the Seattle Seahawks in 2006 for the same thing. Now any Seahawks broadcasts that mention the crowd as "the 12th man" also has to mention Texas A&M's trademark.

Seems pretty stupid, right? Yeah, that's because it is, though there's also an easy solution. Instead of referring to your home crowd as "the 12th man" just start referring to them as "the 12th player." Then Texas A&M will have to find a whole new way to waste everybody's time.

I don't think I'll be too bent out of shape if TJ loses it. Kid is doing everything he can.

Flacco pulling a Matt Ryan would be an embarrassment. Absolutely.

I knew Matt Ryan was meh when they played the Texans at Reliant. Overthrew his receivers multiple times on passes that would've been either a TD or huge gains. He also couldn't handle the noise very well, and that call came out on national TV yesterday.

Lost in all this Tebow-mania is the fact the OC Mike McCoy called a fantastic game yesterday. And really, look at what he accomplished throughout the season. Went from a pretty vanilla offense under Orton to calling some pretty whacked out plays and giving Tebow's unique capabilities a chance to win games.

I had heard his name mentioned as a candidate for HC in only one place. I can't remember where. Might have been Jacksonville. I think after the game he called yesterday he'd be getting more consideration.

That's actually good news. I love Hines, but it's clear he's lost speed and can't get separation any longer. The pussification of the NFL negates his downfield blocking as well. Some of his hits are better than some LBs we've seen. Whine and cry and call him dirty all you want, bitches, you'd all have loved to have his kind of competitor on your team.

Glad he made it to 1K catches, but about 20 of those were WR screens and shuffle passes in the last 8 weeks of the season just to get him there. Brees-ish, really.

As for Aaron Smith, I expect him to hang them up too. Two years in a row missing significant parts of the season. Hood has stepped up.

If Hoke is healthy I could see bringing him back for cheap. Depth on the d-line is always important, as we saw yesterday.

Farrior is likely back but could be playing behind Foote. Depends on if we draft a stud ILB or how things go in camp. I fully expect that if he's not done yet he will be after next season.

Apparently our DC Brian Van Gorder said "fuck it" and took the DC job at Auburn.

Whether BVG saw the writing on the wall and took to college or just saw this as an opportunity he couldn't pass up is something that only the team knows, and it may remain that way. What matters is that he's gone, and the Falcons have a hole to fill.

BVG presided over one of the best run defenses in the league in 2011 and generally put a competent D on the field during his four years in Atlanta. Under his tutelage, players like Curtis Lofton, Corey Peters and Sean Weatherspoon grew into special defenders, and I was incredibly impressed with the defense he put together for the Giants, at least for half the game.

Of course, there were frustrations. His soft zone allowed wide receivers to catch the ball unmolested, wrecking the value of more physical players like Dunta Robinson. The team also failed to put together even a borderline great pass rush in the time he was here. I thought his inability to tighten up the zone or call more creative blitz packages was his great failing.

Interesting times.

I think Farrior is the single biggest change with the defense. Simply put, he's not filling the holes created for him fast enough, and his slowing with age has made him a liability in space. Thing is we have no one behind him. Sylvester doesn't appear to be panning out, and Worilds has been earmarked for Harrison's spot.

As for Smith, anytime I read anything on him it's to the effect of "Somebody's going to have to tell me to go" so unless the steelers make a move I doubt he's quitting. That said if they do cut him I'm confident he won't go anywhere else.

All signs point to Hoke hanging 'em up. It's going to take a year for him to fully recover from his surgery and get his strength back.

And Hines.....

I love all this confidence from texans fans. This will be easy. Just hope tebow can slay the pats so we can have a home game.

Ravens - 28
Texans - 13 only because of a late garbage time TD from JGar

No it won't. Yates is a better QB and Houston has much more talent on it.

That, and it ain't going to fucking happen!

i was speaking of more embarassing for you ;)

I love all of this confidence because from Ravens fans because "they're just the Texans". Not taking a team seriously is what got the Steelers waxed yesterday. And the Ravens QB is Joe Flacco.

Maybe they will be preparing for New England already. Hey works for me.

Yates has a built in out if he nuts up...what will be Flaccid's excuse?

Excuse? Who DOESN'T expect him to blow it? I know I do! I still nearly shit myself from surprise whenever he completes a pass over 15 yards. I seriously shock-came in my pants when he completed the last touchdown to beat Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh this year.

If you want a Ravens fan who believes in Flacco, don't look here. If Manning gets traded, I hope it's to us, because we could damn sure win a Super Bowl with him.

Has he always been this average? The Ravens didn't really hit their stride until Ray had to DEMAND that they give him the damn ball.

Who has the better career record wins losses?? Flacco or shaub?? Flacco is dreadfully average but shaub is a career fuck up and Yates is garbage. We have a better team point blank.

*yawn* BaltimoreLarry is this who you call your brethern?

What the fuck does Schaub have to do with the game this weekend?

please. Flacco inherited a better running game and better defense when he became the starter for the Ravens, that schaub had when he came to the Texans. The Ravens may be the better team, but they were certainly better team than the Titans, Jags and Seahawks too.

Since when does the better team always win? It's the playoffs.

the winner of the playoff game is the better team that year. That's the whole point of the playoffs. Rankings and other shit is for wasting time before the playoffs.

He'll probably be limping around on the sideline.

Probably.

Can't wait for the inevitable shot of 4 QBs surround Yates "giving him good information".

But Flacco is average and Yates is garbage. That's what I head on a forum! Newsflash of the day!

I appreciate all the Ravens-GAF support, as little as it may be, but I'm powerless over what they say. At least I recognize him for posting sporadically throughout the season. Where are the bandwagon Raven's fans? We're clearly the most likeable team in the playoffs.

Maybe I can swing people on GAF like FMT, by being more obnoxious...like FMT.

Oh so shaub is not the franchise QB of the texans?? How can u disrespect flacco when shaub is ur QB was my point. They are both avg QBs. Shaub just happens to shit the bed in crunch time situations a lot more. When flacco decides to suck you will know by the 2nd quarter.
