For some reason, the photo I'm using is one of the better ones of me lately. Sometimes I turn like ghostly white in photos ... except for my lips. And it looks weird.

she said while trying to hide her seven shelves of it. Honestly, I only have so much because I used to buy it for $1 a book in Japan. There are a few titles I really like though.
And it doesn't pay all that well, but there is a lot of work for it out there and it's relatively easy work (as far as translation goes. I swear the worst part is trying to decide on words to use for sound effects :/) I haven't worked on anything major, and like I said before in the thread there isn't much I'd admit to. When I talk about my translations I'm much happier to talk about my personal projects!
 
I couldn't get a tan if I wanted to, I just burn. I find dark skin shades super sexy, but I'm kind of happy with my paleness now.

Fair enough. Strangely I've often wished I were bilingual just so I could do something like that as a hobby.
 
Threads get closed down at 20k posts now which is the main reason those are still on top. There were a few threads last year which went through several versions.

I was part of a scanlation group for, like, a month.

They'd write things like

"Eduardo, use it! The technique you know!"

And I'd correct it to "Edward, use the technique!"

And then they'd change it back because it was a more "pure translation." I am not sure why they even brought me on to clean up the dialogue if they didn't intend to use it.

Eventually they broke up like a few months later because of internal strife. :V
 
One week to go before i return back to my 'fitness' (warehouse) job. Wrist should be ok, so i should replace this avatar :D

I'm not sure what I prefer really. I like brunettes with a dark complexion, but I also find ginger haired women strangely alluring, so...

I don't think pale skin is necessarily unattractive.

Working at home is fine for me, I find I am much more productive. But I do have a dedicated office where I work to cut down on distraction. Gaf really helps me not feel so isolated and alone. If I did not check the threads in between moments at work, I'd probably feel like Gollum in his cave.

I absolutely love translating, even if it's something I don't like. Everyday I feel like I'm being challenged to provide the perfect phrase for a sentence. It's definitely worthwhile, even as a hobby. And even though it's harder as an adult, it's never too late to learn another language!

My editor jokes that I make things too easy for him. I hate people who insist on sticking for word for word translations, even if it sounds odd. There are plenty of fans that enjoy that kind of thing though, so whatever floats your boat I guess.

I used to get a lot of shit for it in school. Isn't that odd? I was constantly told I should go get a tan like everyone else because I looked too sick. It's not like I could help it though :/ I certainly would have done it if it were possible, just to get them off my back about it.
 
I want to be a mod for a day just so I can look at previous versions of things people post. Sometimes I'm in a thread and see a post change like four times over the one minute grace period, it would be fun to chart the thought-process evolution behind it. Like:

- Revision 1: I AM ANGRY
- Revision 2: I AM ANGRY BUT DON'T WANT TO BE BANNED
- Revision 3: I am now less angry and more concerned about being banned
- Revision 4: I am not angry at all and this post is entirely innocuous
 
And, Lissar, skimmed back and saw that you applied. Good luck! It would be awesome if you landed it. I think you'd enjoy it more than your 'current' line of work. ;)
 
It's not like that. :P I deleted the picture because I looked like a dumb bimbo in it. Ducky face after all. The post I deleted because well... I didn't want to make things uncomfortable for anybody.
