NFL 2011 Divisional Round |OT| Jesus cast flag merchants, rapists out of His temple

I forgot what game it was last year, but remember him complaining because they got to the stadium too early and it apparently threw him off? That was laughable but he is such a different player right now. Before anything (and I want to say - now that he's passed the whole "at the end of the day" thing, he's got a "first and foremost" thing going) he constantly praises Coughlin and Fewell for getting the team ready and providing a really good game plan. That is a far cry from what we as fans think from game to game. Glad to hear it from Antrel.

He has really turned around my opinion on him.

It was the Colts game, they got absolutely embarrassed during that one. Fewell's gameplan was worthless, they went super heavy against the pass (they had a single active DT that day) and then the Colts ran all over them. And passed all over them.

No I didn't leave anyone off.

This list is super fucking sad

He made crucial errors in tight playoff games like the young Peyton used to, like throwing deep when just out of field goal range rather than trying to setup a sure score, not managing the clock well, etc. Marino was a very unimpressive playoff QB in my opinion. He just never grew into what he could have been.

His torn Achilles tendon in 1993 was a heart breaker. He will always be #1 for The Clock Play. You want to talk about some mad Jets.
My excuse for him is he never had a running game threat to take the pressure off of him.

If you want an answer, regardless of my homerism, I still say Elway. I feel with him in there we always had a shot. It might not make him the best statisically, or even have the most wins or titles, but he was always close to either the sb or playoff runs with average teams. It wasn't until shanny built talented teams around him that they were able to get over the threshold. I wish I could elaborate more, but I have afternoon meetings.

I used to think that too but look at his body of work. He doesn't get enough credit. Ignorant people drop the Belichick bomb when the discussion comes up but Brady really is that good.

It's not ignorant people, it's simple a fact.

I'd argue that he's become a better QB since winning his last Super Bowl, but since he hasn't been able to lock up another since SG...it's really hard to feel great about the guy.

He's an excellent QB and has been consistent, but it's hard to feel good about his biggest moments considering what we know....and what we don't know because it was destroyed. It's not ignorant, it's exactly what it is.

Top 10 QB, I'd say so. Beyond that, well, they've fucked that up for now.

1. Peyton
2. Marino
3. Brady
4. Unitas
5. Montana
6. Warner
7. Favre
8. Tarkenton
9. Elway (sorry, Terrell Davis and that o-line got him those two rings, at least the 98' one)
10. Brees

Teams have historically stolen signals. Teams for the most part always tape the opposing sideline from their own sideline (this is allowed). NE taped it from their opponents sideline (this is not allowed). What difference does that really make?

The only "significant" allegations about NE was STL making a somewhat meek claim that maybe someone from NE's organization was in the stadium while they were doing their walkthrough.

When Parcells, Madden, Steve Young and others all comment on this "controversy" and say it's not really anything significant, than I'm not going to carry a torch for it.

Manning.

I know there's the natural human tendency to look upon the past as the "good old days", where everything was great and now everything sucks, but that's not true with the NFL. The good old days are right now, and Manning is the best of a bunch of future legends.

I'm putting this whole goddamn team on my back, do

Yes, please ignore everything else I said about him.

what else did you say? Was there another post? Or was that not directed at me?

I wasn't even someone arguing for Brady as no. 1, just commented on what I quoted and bolded. This isn't forensic class, why do I have to address everything anyway?

You're back! Now you can retire that alternate account and stay the fuck away from every other board on GAF.

edit: and you forgot the Finley avatars - unless they were already taken due to high demand

The Pats got caught doing it, there were allegations the Broncos were doing it, and now the same weasel is back in Foxboro and probably looking at satellite photos of the Bronco's defense practicing.

eznark makes better threads anyway.

:jnc Don't have an alt. I like his avatar though.

Finley can go screw.

But speaking of Finley, I think I get banned as much as he drops balls. :jnc

Wrong. It was much harder to throw against those defenses back in Montana's time. The entire game has been restructured over the past 10 years to encourage a pass-first league.

Manning is fantastic and would probably be #2 or #3 on my list but he's playing in a time that is the easiest ever in the league for QBs.

Tark! First real consistent scrambling QB in the NFL, and owned pretty much every career NFL passing record when he retired. It's too bad he wasted a few years in New York.

My research indicates that Tark may be ARog's father, based only on playstyle.

yes, but look at the distinction between what they were caught doing and what is actually allowed and common (or at least WAS, prior to the mic being granted to the defense).

what else did you say? Was there another post? Or was that not directed at me?
Just commenting that I specifically stated he's a great QB that's become better than he was before all of that. So take it as you will.

You really think the taping had that much of an impact?
My point is that we simply don't know what impact it had. No on can claim it had no impact because we don't know what was on it or how they used it. What we know is that it was bad enough to burn it down and not let anyone see.
It possibly had absolutely no impact, but it may have made a big one...maybe. That's all there is to say.

Let me throw some more bread under the bridge for you though.

The defenses 'back in Montana's time' also weren't filled with finely-tuned genetic freaks with an undeniable advantage in fitness, health, and technological resources , so no, I don't agree with that. I think they offset.

Oh and also all the coaching resources in terms of advanced video editing, computer software, and so many other advantages for the defenses.

How many super bowls do we have by now if Troy smiths herpes doesnt flare up right before the season starts??

From Patriots practice, big news. As in, linemen big. G Logan Mankins and OT Sebastian Vollmer are back. Long time for Vollmer
Great fucking news Pats fans. It seems like no one was missing at practice, and today was full pads so Seabass and Mankins should be ready to go on Saturday. Man this is great news

I agree the rules are out of whack, but I'm separating the rules from the players. I admit I'm also making a bit of a crass popularity argument. Defying trends in every other sport or entertainment, pro football is more popular than ever. The hallowed legends that were made in other sports decades ago are being made right now in the NFL. And Manning is clearly the best of that group.

The NFL has been popular as fuck for like 40 years. Hallowed legends have been made since well before you were born.

Relax fucker. It's not that serious.

wasn't trying to insult you, nor did I mean to come off harsh with that.
