The internet has ruined me, the superman thing comes second..

With the current rules Jeff George would have been the greatest qb of all time. He always had the bestest arm but lacked the brain to know where to throw it. In the current league with these shit rules even his defective brain would be up to the task of chucking it to the ridiculously wide open guy.

To the packers discussion, just listened to the Rodgers interview. He also talked about getting off to a fast start; I agree they will take shots early and often. Hopefully Clifton improves from his 25 snap outing week 17. Defensively there's not much you can do but hope the line gets more pressure (ie. any pressure)
The ~25 snaps was planned according to McCarthy - I'm sure he could've played more.

Sure is weird having everyone relatively healthy at this point in the season. I wish that included Collins though.

he would still throw off of his back foot.

Yeah, I mean performance-wise. According to McGinn from the JS, he performed much worse than Newhouse had been. But McCarthy trusts the vets.

The Collins thing is still weird to me.

They waited like 6 weeks to put him on IR.
Yeah that was a little unusual. Maybe TT was waiting to see if he needed another safety. I think they ended up using the spot for something else, though.

lol, such horse shit. McGinn is flat wrong. Mind you, I think Newhouse has been consistently improving, but Clifton was left one on one and performed well. He wasn't beaten on passing downs and never got backside help.

Unrelated: I wish madden added another defensive stat category for pass breakups, or added it to deflections and changed the name. Knocking the ball out of the receivers hand should count for something.
Same with defensive QB pressures.

That is all. Haven't played this lately.

doesn't it? I thought it did. You'd have to just keep checking the stats during a game I guess.

I agree, I'd take Clifton as well. He has had/will have two weeks to prepare, and with him in you can trust him in more one-on-ones. Just saying what I saw reported.

Bob McGinn from the Milwaukee JS said:
In 25 snaps, Clifton gave up 3½ pressures and one "bad" run to DE Kyle Vanden Bosch. After switching sides when Clifton took a seat, Marshall Newhouse played the last 48 snaps at LT and gave up 1½ presses and two "bad" runs to Vanden Bosch. Now Clifton will have two full weeks to solidify his game. Clifton didn't play strong and he didn't look particularly nimble. Newhouse didn't help his cause with a pair of penalties.

Wow. Hue out? Makes sense but surprised the team had the gumption to do it. His big gamble failed, he didn't properly disclose McFadden's foot injury (or hilariously mismanaged it, who knows?) and he furthered the legend of a rival team in the division. Yikes.

Nope. I've checked after some plays that should count up. Only gives stats if you literally deflect the pass with and arm. Even if you get your defenders body in front of the ball and it hits ya in the back, doesn't count for anything.

Just one of those things that would be nice to help evaluate players for season progressions.

My problem with this is that McGinn simply looked at the stat line. In reality, the nonsense pressures didn't affect the play. VB was in the vicinity/touched Rodgers after the ball came out, so it's a pressure. Total garbage stat.

He was legitimately beat once. He hasn't been good in run pro in years though, that much if true.

Wooo...

Steve Spagnuolo is expected to return to the Eagles by the end of the week, Jason LaCanfora of NFL Network reported.

LaCanfora, citing NFL sources, wrote that Spagnuolo will replace embattled defensive coordinator Juan Castillo, perhaps not in name, but as the leader of the Eagles defense.

The Eagles had no comment.

Andy Reid is on vacation until the end of the week, so it is unlikely that any coaching changes will be announced. Reid, of course, was able to mastermind overhauling his coaching staff while he was away on a Caribbean vacation last January.

Spagnuolo is currently also on a vacation with his wife (at the same location as Reid?) but is expected to return tomorrow. He was fired by the Rams last week after three years as head coach. Spagnulo spent eight years with the Eagles as a defensive assistant, but left in 2007 to become the New York Giants' defensive coordinator.

If Spagnuolo does not replace Castillo as coordinator he could be named an assistant head coach along with offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg. If Castillo is out in his current position, he could fill the vacany at secondary coach after Johnnie Lynn was fired last week.

Former Eagles safety Quintin Mikell, who played under Spagnuolo last season in St. Louis, said last week that he thought his former coach would end up back in Philadelphia. Mikell said that Spagnuolo, as head coach, may have missed calling plays.

well I could understand that not counting, but I thought hitting a player and knocking the pass loose counted. Always gotta save something for 13/14/15!

Matthew Stafford is Jeff George, only he has Megatron and an eating disorder

Take 16 TD's of megatron out. That would be 2nd best season George ever had. People forget that megatron has been in NFL since 2007. Just funny how he had an all world year at the same time as stafford first full season.

2012 MVP.

You will love him and his pot belly.

With all the support Denver is getting those avatars that Cuevas put in for might come in handy. Even so, we are still a huge underdog, I'm sure it will continue to be this way until we are either eliminated or bury a team.

I hate all patriots regardless of ethnicity.

also what is the deal with Tampa? They should just move to England at this point. I'm sure more people would show up at Old Trafford to watch.

Just take Brian Schottenheimer with you.

Bionic is a Steelers fans, but is rooting for the Broncos and Ravens. No difference here. btw a disturbing rumor going around STL is that Fisher would bring in Schotty as OC wherever he gets the job

Rams confirmed for new QB in 2013.

Lions' schedule gets MUCH easier next year with the NFC West and AFC South. This year, Tampa's schedule got harder.

Stafford should (barring injury) have an even better year next year.

I'm going to keep my predictions reasonable and say he throws for 9000 yards next year and 85 touchdowns. He'd have 90 but Pettigrew will drop 5.

You think so? I think the NFC West will be significantly better next year than the AFC West was this year. San Fran obviously, but Seattle and Arizona played good football down the stretch. lol Rams. AFC South could also be significantly improved. I don't see that the NFC North schedule is any easier than it was this year.

I believe we will get the Thanksgiving game next year against Detroit. And we get the Packers in Houston which will be the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center appreciation day.

hahahaha @ Hue Jackson.

Dude got too big for his britches.

Don't laugh too hard, he could be our next OC in Atlanta.

Someone on The Falcoholic just posted that they heard on 680 THE FAN that Mularkey and Van Gorder were told after the second New Orleans game to start looking for other opportunities. So it has been decided for a while, probably by the Comrade.

Hue Jackson might be a good fit for the Falcons. Lord know you guys need some attitude in your offense.
