another moan from me.
All games that you've put on the vita - including physical cards - have persistent icons on the vita dashboard. But you don't get any indication whether a game is currently available to play - i.e is the card in the vita? If you press start to play it, it'll shut down any previous game you're playing *before* telling you that you don't have the game inserted. (its warns you that the previous game will quit, but you press 'yes' because you want to play the new one).
I'd like some way for it to either indicate that a game is available to launch, or that it isn't. Don't mind which. Simple icon on the games homescreen thing would be enough. Not only would it stop me trying to launch games I don't have on me, it'd also help me know which games I can play without rooting through my bag for my card case.
maybe they could allow 'folders' where you could put a few icons/shortcuts to your games so you needn't to scroll 10 pages to find the game you want to play
And now that's just bizarre. There's no logical engineering reason to do that and it makes the ten page limit even worse.
Don't worry, you won't be able to play them anyway.and 20 PSX games.

So anything on the supposed "surprise update" for Uncharted today?
I'm pretty sure that the reason purchased movies work already is because no activation is necessary - it was done when you purchased and downloaded it (you didn't buy a license, you bought a copy; that is why you cannot redownload them if you lose them).
However, for games, it needs to check that you have access to the game in question from the PlayStation Store everytime you copy to a new device (you bought a license). Therefore, since the NA PSN Store isn't up for Vitas at the moment, you cannot copy your purchased games over yet.
Anyway, I signed into my main (NA) PSN account immediately so I missed out on all the Japanese demos... there's no way to switch to my Japanese account to check that stuff out without wiping my card and Uncharted progress, correct? :\
Surely that's because Singapore is the same region as Japan and HK, where the Vita is already out. It'll be the same with Canada/USA, and the same with all countries in Europe.
I would think save data is still saved on the retail cart (even for games that need a mem card) and separately on the mem card for digital games. So removing the game icon and 'resetting it' that way won't affect saves.Regarding the 10 page limit, does deleting a game's icon delete the save data (for retail) or delete the whole game (for digital)?
Folders would be nice and hopefully they don't mess it up like on the PS3 where if you use folders everything must be in a folder
i have a EXCESSIVE USER moan
we are currently limited to 10 pages of icons regardless of memory card size. Whilst it's hard to fill a 32 gig card with Vita games, you can easily spill over with PCE, Neo Geo, PSP games - i've hit the limit on one card and i'm sure i've a ton of space left :/
WiFi here. For those who have problems turning on their PSP Vita or having blue Leds while turning on. Do you own the PSP vita 3G/Wifi or Wifi version.
Folders are probably really the only answer since I do think anything over 10 pages is way too much to scroll through just find one thing. Though I guess they could also add a search feature or just some screen that'll list all the games you have.
WiFi here.
I'm 99% certain they were just referring to the new video that was put up on the site, but let's wait another 24 hours for total confirmation. So anything on the supposed "surprise update" for Uncharted today?
It happened to me one or two times and I think my battery might have been dead that time, so I'm not really that great test subject.Do you have any of stuff on auto-start? Might want to disable all of them just to test it out.

Mine is lord_audie
I don't have a Vita yet, waiting in the US launch, but feel free to add me now.
PSN: Reluctant-Hero
Wait, does vita use the same PSN name you already have? Or do you have to create a ew one?
Uses the same. Though you can create a new one if you want.
Ha, np.Get out of my head charles, I was coming to edit my post since I just found this
thanks Dallow_bg <3
Just ordered myself this pouch, should have done it from the start really. Too stupid carrying it around in a ziplock-bag as I do now
I seem to remember a mention in the 8-4 podcast about that simple pouch being the most popular one, but I could be mistaken as I feel there are a ton of different pouches to choose from :-S
Yes, in the "Value Pack" there was a pouch, but I believe this one can fold around the Vita on both sides, and is not open in the end like the PSP-pouch was.
And I'm 99% sure that the US is getting this same pouch in the $40 "Starter Kit" that includes a screen protector, cleaning cloth and 4gb memory card as well.
Wow, for some reason I completely forgot about Sumioni. I hope that gets localized. Will definitely want to hear impressions if anyone here gets it next month.
Based off of the picture of the starter pack, it's a different case.
Sheesh, if the starter pack pouch is different, that means there's like 6-7 different "official" Sony cases/sleeves out there between the regions.
Just amusing to me.
^
yep yep, you're right. I was thinking of the Special edition pre-order crap. I just came back to the thread to EDIT in an apology, but you beat me to it.
Aren't there only 2 different pouches? There is the one in the starter pack which resembles the pouch that came with first generation PSP-1000s and then there's the really nifty one that has those weird straps, where a part of the case drops down and kind of just hangs there while you play the system. There was even a video made just for the second case I mentioned.
EDIT: This video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAcH_GaTNsY
Pretty sure every case after these two will only be "Officially Licensed" but made by 3rd parties such as Mad Catz and Pelican.
Nah, they have a lot more.
Leather Case (most expensive, also doubles as stand, and comes in white)
Soft Carry Case/Travel Pouch (also comes in Blue and White)
Carrying Case (from the video, also doubles as a stand)
Pouch (similar to PSP-1000 pouch, found in the US Starter pack or retail JPN)
Hard Case (only from the First Edition bundle)
So there's actually 5 made by Sony, with some extra color variants.
