I mean if there was prep time involved then yeah I'm sure they'll come up with some bullshit reasn why Iron Man could have a magnetic-resistant suit to fight Magneto but it seems (and I hope) this encounter is kind of random, out of the blue.

Storm already lost horribly to the silver surfer.
Thor beats down on the surfer like it's his job, and his weather control is much, much better. That fight won't last very long.
That's too bad...Marvel could have my money if they ever made their ipad app worthwhile.

I actually have relatively higher hopes for Avengers Academy and their tie in. They did Fear Itself better than Fear Itself did in any other book including the main book.

The Uncanny X-Men Juggernaut arc was probably the best FI tie-in I read, though whether anyone else here would agree might depend on their tolerance for Greg Land art.

Cyclops..i swear if cap doesnt roundhouse this dickhead into the ground with one hit...he is another glass cannon, regular human physiology , super powerful mutant ability. Cap on the other hand will one shot a regular human. He is stronger, faster, more agile, durable, better fighter, oh and a adamantium/vibranium/uru metal shield so yeah kinda built to fight a projectile based offense. After watching cyclops still being fucking awake after getting smashed IN THE FACE by adamantium laced , super human wolverine you never know though *thank you schism wolverine is officially a fucking lepper eunuch*. Of course it should be all of 5 panels resembling something like a hypercombo finish from MvC3 with cap the victor...im not betting on it though.
Psylocke and Widow should be good id say psylocke though one step ahead, no real overpowering stuff from widow that psylocke hasnt seen. Dunno if widow has a counter for telepathic advantage...lots of guns, peak human, tighter leather?
Iron man vs magneto , far as i know magneto has some kind of metal bonded with his skin now , omnium or something *maybe its been ret conned* so he's all fucking powerful and pretty damn durable , mags wins.

Iceman vs Spiderman : Spiderman , Iceman is that dude but i see so many ways spiderman can just knock him out with the speed and agility advantage....and i dont think bobby will take off his belt for the cheap win

In a team fight i like the xmen...that used to be their thing, no one perfect member but as a unit they could fight anyone *cept when they are guest staring in spiderman apparently*

Granted the original art had Red Hulk Vs Colossus but I can't believe the best they could do was throw Storm at Thor.
Still want to see exactly where Wolverine falls. Given the Art it looks like he is battleing Emma but the discription and the fact that his faculty is fight the Avengers makes me think he is siding with X Men.

Outside of Juggs and part of the X Men? Very few, at least in my opinion. Hell even including Juggs if Thor decides to get serious then he one mans pretty much all the X Men with their current rosters.

I'm trying to remember. Wolverine's X Men has Rachel and Omega Kid, but Logan wouldn't use kid.
Scott has Emma and Psylock, can't remember any others but it's possible. The questions is if they even be effective against Thor.

I don't know if Charles has picked a side, and not sure where Legion falls, but he is active as well.
Well unless some writer is going to pull some bullshit on the level of him Armbarring the Surfer, him being angry doesn't mean shit in the face of Thor.
Bendis will never live down his style of writing dialogue, that's why.
And this event definitely excites me.
I'm totally okay with this. He gives out a lot information without it feeling like bad exposition and all of his characters feel like they have unique voices, something that a lot of other writers would do well to read up on.
What ? Bendis is one writer who struggles on team books. It gets irritating when everyone is wise cracking and has a comeback ready like Spidey.

Yes, Nova will definitely have some significant role in AvX proper, though exactly what isn't quite clear yet. Don't ask how, because Jeph Loeb brought him back and that ain't how he rolls.
