Do Vita trophies count into your total trophy count with the PS3 trophies? And would you be able to see Vita trophies on your PS3?

Yeah they count in the total, but I can't see them on my PS3 so far, even logged into my Japanese account (which is the one linked to my Vita). You can see PS3 games on the list on the Vita though.

Is there no Mac version of the Vita content manager yet?

I watched the Quore preview of the Vita last night and I swore I heard Snyder say you could put your own content (movies) on the device via PS3, PC, and Mac. I thought to put movies on the Vita you needed to use the content manager. Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

is there any advantage to using media go Vs PS3 if you're just interested in games?

PS3 organisation is messy (bubbles, can't put in folders)
PS3 is locked out while you transfer (not a big deal)

That about it? Does PS3 delete the bubbles when you copy to vita? Does media go let you keep them?

The Taco Bell giveaway is going to have a spectacular backlash against Sony and the Vita. Giving away the hardware before the launch date? All the "winners" will quickly discover they can't do anything with their machines since the memory cards are not on sale yet. LOLOLOL.

If it's anything like the Subway promotions, when they say getting something before the launch date, they really mean one day early.

"Regardless of whether you win with an Unlock, Battle or a Boast, your prize pack will include one PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi system, one copy of the PS Vita exclusive Little Deviants, one 4GB PS Vita Memory Card and your choice of one of the following: ModNation Racers: Road Trip, MLB 12 The Show or LittleBigPlanet."

Sony's John Kollar said very specifically in this interview that they will start giving away Vitas starting on Jan 25 - and there will be a winner every 15 minutes (how is that possible? How many are they giving away?)

Ah, thanks for clarifying. That's a hell of a giveaway then.

I think that's more along the lines of picking winners and then they'll probably mail it out two weeks later.

This is no different than what Microsoft and PEPSI did during the 360 launch.

I won an xbox a week (or was it two) before it's launch. Some people got theirs well before

you could at least post the picture of the actual food involved in the contest :-p

That looks delicious! Why can't we get Taco Bell in the UK!

I did very well in the Pepsi contest back in 05. Won myself an Xbox 360 before it launched in their "Win one 360 every hour contest." The beauty of no purchase necessary. I won at 2 am in the morning!

I hate Taco Bell. Bleh.

Not sure if this has been posted but Amazon has finally updated their First Edition Bundle to include Release-Date Delivery as a shipping speed for all customers.

I was just about to cancel it but now I gotta think about this....

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy MLB 12 The Show on the US PSN store (since it's only NTSC) but play it with a EU account? Or will that only be possible with a physical copy?

And what if I buy a physical copy but the game comes out with Online Pass, which can only be redeemed in the US PSN Store, would I be able to play online with my EU account?

You won't be able to play it

nope. Need to redeem it in the native store (US in your case). Tried it with minna no golf. And if its a Sony published game, the chances of an online pass are very high.

options:

- switch your vita to US PSN account when you want to play it (takes 2 minutes)

- use a US PSN account all the time

- keep your fingers crossed for an EU release. might happen as digital only, costs would be a lot lower than releasing on physical card over here.

Thanks. My desire to get a Vita went from "day 1" to "probably never". It's not only MLB The Show but I buy 99% of my games from the UK and since some games have 2 PAL versions (one for the UK, the other for rest of EU countries) that would mean I would have to use an UK account to play a game with Online Pass.

Sony keeps making stupid decisions that I simply can't understand. Why have region free games and then put these restrictions in place when the PS3 system worked perfectly?

The region of the UK games with the rest of Europe is the same. I'm spanish, I buy usually games on zavvi or other UK retailers, and the DLC and online passes works without problem. I never needed to make a UK account. There are only a few games (Call of Duty, for example) that they have different game ID in different regions.

Taco Bell is like the McDonald's of Mexican restaurants. You shouldn't be jealous.

ooh, like buy physical, install to device? That'd be nice.

If Sony thought ahead this could have been possible. They could have locked the cartridge to the device as long as it was installed. So if you tried to install it and sell it or trade it the other person couldn't play the game.

I guess the problem with that would be that people WOULD want to install it and then go back to Gamestop and get credit for it. And Gamestop doesn't want to have to check every single cartridge on a store-use Vita to make sure it's not locked. So maybe we can blame Gamestop!

Oh! Has there been a post that describes this in detail? I'm curious how that actually panned out since I'll probably want some games from J-PSN at some point.

Edit: Found IGN's video. God damn that's a hassle.

The region is the same but if the version is different, DLC and Online Pass can only be redeemed in the store associated with the version you have. For example, DLC for Uncharted 2 from the EU Store didn't worked with the UK version.

PS3 games with a different UK/EU version is a relatively small percentage, but there is no guarantee that will happen with the Vita, especially because publishers will know there is no workaround if you want to keep using the same account. It would be a very effective tactic for killing imports from the much cheaper UK market.

Alright,

So I preordered:

Vita Wifi
32 Gig Memory Stick
Wipeout Pulse

That said, with the decent amount of Memory maybe I should just be buying all my stuff off the PS store unless there is some huge sale. No cartridges awesome. Does this sound right? Will I be stuck with limited selection and higher prices?

You aren't "stuck" with anything. You still have the option of buying cartridges if it makes sense to do so.

Why would you have limited selection and higher prices? Aren't we getting same day digital releases and the same price?

It's actually the apposite. All games will be available on PSN and there is a rumor that the price of retail PSN games will be cheaper than the physical retail games.

It depends on the game for me. As a PSP-Go owner, I love having all my games downloaded but it feels awful when Amazon has a ridiculously good sale or something. For Vita it's going to depend mostly on the games. Hot Shots Golf and WipeOut are something I want on my Vita at all times. Uncharted is something I wouldn't mind buying a cartridge for if it was cheaper.

Well all my best buy points were counted to my RZC from all the holiday/Christmas shopping plus I got $50 gift certificate from a promotion they were doing for the Toshiba Thrive. Payed for my VITA online lastnight 3G/Wifi version and the total was $200. Not bad considering.

Awesome, just remembered I have $60 in Newegg credit. I'll grab my 32GB stick from there.

It's so great that Hot Shots and WipeOut are priced at $30. If Vita pricing holds up like this, I don't mind paying $50 for games like Uncharted if the majority of games I'd buy are $30. It's unfortunate that there are so many $40 third-party games though. I'll wait for sales on Marvel and Disgaea.
